Revision for GERD to bypass- what was your process?
I just had mini bypass revision from sleeve as I had severe GERD. Now I have bile reflux ☹️

4 weeks post up - acid reflux has returned
Hi All, I had a sleeve revision to mini bypass 4 weeks ago. I had a brief period of relief from the acid reflux (due to GERD) but now it is back. I am taking a PPI every PM and find I wake in the middle of the night with a burning bile sensation. I chew a few tums. Also during the day, I don’t have much of an appetite (yay) but I find that if I don’t eat every 3 hours or so, the burning returns and I can taste bile. Has anyone had this? I had really hoped this revision would be the end all for this issue and I was so optimistic but now I’m almost worse off than before the surgery…….

Macros…..
Hey everyone. I am 4 years out and struggling with the covid 20 and some additional weight gain on top of that. I am working with an online coach for exercise training and nutrition following a macro based diet. I have not lost any weight so I reached out to the team where I had my surgery and they commented that my macros are way to high for protein. They were happy my calories were in the 1500 range (135g protein/160g carb/ 45g fat) but concerned about the protein being so high (optimum is 60-80g). Anyone else follow macro based plans?

What are you eating 5-7 weeks post op?
I am currently 5 week’s post op, and just wondering what everyone else in the 5-7 week post op is eating for their daily meals? What are you choosing for breakfast, lunch and dinner? Curious what people are doing. Thanks!

Hi, Does anyone have some good no bake, high protein ball recipes they would like to share?

Totally Failing at this Pre Op Diet
My pre op consists of three shakes a day plus 250 calories of specific low GI vegetables per day. It’s for two weeks. I have 4 days of this left. It’s the hardest thing I have ever done. I also now hate vegetables lol

June Sleevers Lets Get Excited!!!
Is anyone else self pay with smartshape in Toronto??
-
Advice needed
I am getting sleeves June 6th. I am flying across the country for self pay. In order to get the time off work, I had to admit to having a surgery done. But I didn’t say what. I know I don’t have to say anything, but for those who don’t want people to know...... what did you say? I’m wondering what ‘pretend procedure’ I can say I had as a cover story. We’re any of you in this situation???

Any Canadians?
Hi All, I had to have my band removed last fall due to a port infection. I would like to have the sleeve revision now. It’s. 3-5yr wait in B.C. to get into the program. Is there anywhere in Canada where we can fast track with self pay? Or if you are in Canada and did self pay - where did you go? How much did you pay? How was your experience? Thank you.

Band removal and re-install?
Hi, Has anyone had to have their band removed and then had a second one put in? I had to have my band removed last fall due to a port infection. And I have ballooned in weight and my hormones and PCOS are all out of wack now. I am contemplating having a band surgery again as I can’t bear this (and the wait list for a sleeve is 3-5yrs). Wanting to know is anyone has had success the second time around?

Where to go?
I am in BC Canada and there is no self pay option here for gastric sleeve. I had a gastric band, but it was removed in September 2017 due to a port infection. My doctor sent a referral to the bariatric program here, but it can be a two year wait for a consultation even... so I am exploring my options. Where can I go??? The thought of surgery in Mexico is terrifying, but so many people do it. Are there any other Canadians out there who had surgery elsewhere? Where did you go? How much did it cost? Are you happy? TY in advance

Advice needed
Hi All, I had a gastric band for 8 years and I had to have it removed in September due to a port infection. I am hoping to have a gastric sleeve done, but it could be a while before I am accepted into the program due to long wait times. Since my band removal, I have followed a healthy diet (better than I didn't while having the band as I can now eat proper protein and vegetables!). But my body has metabolically repented and have gained 50lbs in 2.5months despite my best efforts. For those who were waiting for their sleeve..... what did you do before your surgery to keep your weight in check? Is there any special diet you followed or found useful? Weight watchers, low carb, keto, etc? I could really use some help.

Has anyone had a second band?
I had to have my band removed in September due to a port infection. I have been considering a sleeve, but am scared of it as it is non-reversible. Wondering if anyone who has had their band removed due to various reasons, has had another one placed??

Port infection??
So I've had a very 'bruised' looking port site for a whole and assumed it was just that. A bruise. Yesterday, it opened up and now I can see my port and a yellow ***** (non stinky) goo came out. I am seeing my GP tomorrow and he will refer me back to my band surgeon. Just wondering if anyone else had had this and if so, how was it dealt with and what does it mean? Thanks.

For those who have had unfills
I should also mention I am an 8 year veteran who has lost well over 100lbs (and cannot afford to gain one more!!!).

For those who have had unfills
I had posted on another forum, but also now posting here to see if anyone else can share their experience or interested in chatting regarding this issue. How long did it take to get back to a point where you were losing weight again?? I have had to have a complete unfill (due to major restriction and complications) and have since gained 25lbs in the last two months. I am now close to where I was before I had the unfill (previously at 5.6 and now at 5.0) and while I feel closer to 'green' I know i am not quite there. I go for another fill next week and will reach the max capacity my surgeon wants me at (5.5) since the episode. I am trying to eat the right foods, lots of protein and veggies, but I am still constantly hungry and not feeling near enough restriction (next to none). And despite the fact I am exercising daily, the scale still isn't moving! Anyone else have a similar experience? I am personally horrified by my weight gain and feeling very much a failure right now. I could really use some advice, motivation, etc from someone who has been through the same. Thanks.
