I choose the sleeve based in long term effects. My step mom had RNY 10yrs ago and still deals with so many issues. The sleeve requires me to work on my self control more then the rny since i dont get "punished" But for me, I felt that would force me to work on myself. food is not the issue, its mental.

My sister in law offered to pay for the 30/10 weight loss thing for me. It was crazy cause it costs more then what im going to have to pay for the surgery. I really hate going into the whole story of my weightloss history, i wish they would take our declining and stop. But no, they feel they are saving us from something horrible I guess.

Ill tell anyone, but I dont broadcast it on Facebook. Its a personal topic that Id rather say to peoples faces. What I have found to be funny is my skinny healthy friends are soo supportive but my overweight friends have kinda snubbed me. Weird.

My surgeon said she has stopped surgery twice before because the liver was too big. I did my pre op but only lost 4lbs. They wanted 10. But when she went in there I guess i was great. Id just be real strict right before so your liver shrinks. Its a safety issue for the surgeon, not usually a compliance test

I was sleeved 11/18 and I go back to work 12/6. Will i be able to suck in my gut by then? My tummy/abs are so sore still I can't imagine wearing jeans let alone sitting in jeans. When will my tummy feel normal?

I gave in to all those cravings and it helped nothing. I gained weight and I actually miss those foods worse now because the memories ate fresher, if that makes sense. Im 4 days post op and my mind misses those foods. My stomach could care less. Dont be too hard on yourself, every one does it. Its not the end of the world but you may gain weight and then when you start to lose, your having to lose those pounds first :/

I just today started to get side pains. I think it my abs healing. We are probably moving around more then before which is straining our abs. I keep checking the incisions and they look fine so im trying not to worry

Every surgeon is different. I only have steri strips (spelling?) She said they cause the least amount of scarring but you have to be the most carefull with them as they are only tape. Im doing much better today. Drinking at a consistent pace now. Water water water!

Sleeved on the 18th. My incisions are still quite sore. Fluids are going down easier now. I showered finally. (i was scared to) My stomach sounds like a thunderstorm and im only sleeping 2hrs at a time. BUT im not hungry! Hoping tomorrow is better

I am feeling the same way. Atkins was really the only diet i could stick to . Carbs and surgar are major triggers for me so its best to stay AWAY. Milk hurts my stomach and im worried it will stretch my sleeve so im staying away from it as well. I totally agree with you. Im goung to eat protein..veggies..then fruit. No breads/sugar. I want to make to most of my sleeve!

1.)putting on 18w pants..and they were tight.
2.)my 6 year old worried about dieting and unknowingly insulting my size
3.)not fitting in a bath tub
4.)unable to balance in highgeels or dance
5.)NEVER feeling sexy
Im 3 days post op, i cannot wait to run with my husband, play outside with my boys, and dance in high heels!

Ive seen many people say they love popcicles and cold drinks post op. But my nurse told me not to cause the cold temp makes your stomach contract and you dont want that while its healing. In my head it would seem the cold would help swelling of the stomach. Any thoughts?
