I live east of St. Paul, in Afton, which is along the St. Croix River- almost to Wisconsin. Wow, I love you even more knowing you are from Ely, MN.
-
As we say in Minnesota, I'll be bringing a "hotdish" aka a casserole to the party (in spirit). You have a wonderful celebration! Still in my prayers daily and hope your sleeplessness improves.

Ditto, @Debbieduck4@ukkateuk.
Love hiking/walking with my dog and no longer deliberately avoid the paths with large hills.

I always look forward to these postings! Thank you to all who place these hilarious posts on here.

So sorry you have had to endure these episodes. Maybe your planned colon surgery will completely eliminate the flare-ups.

Thank you so much for the update. Do you remember the expression "keep on keeping on"? It seems all is well for now. You both are in my prayers daily. Much love coming your way.

I too have suffered flare-ups from diverticulitis pre-WLS and I have also had one episode post-WLS., although my last one post-WLS did not require antibiotics (it was a mild one). Both my PCP and my surgeon insist the flare ups are not caused by any particular foods.

I am finding that it gets easier to say no to things the more often I do it. Key lime pie was a huge favorite of mine and I've said no to it twice now. Not even one bite. When I was asked if I wanted just a bite I said, "you know I just don't want to fall off the
wagon" and was perfectly understood.

I think the best one for me right now is walking my dog for five miles (which I did pre-WLS), but now I don't mind if we go on a path/trail with hills. Those hills will not get the best of me, I will conquer them!

Good article, thanks for the link.

Thanks for the tip @@MrsSugarbabe, I was thinking I needed to go down a size so I will order some while the sale is on!

I am praying daily for you and your husband as well, and always read your updates. You are a strong woman.

You have done well! I really relish being able to cross my legs, I find I do it often just because it feels good and I can!

Most of us on this forum researched the various WLS options ad nauseam. When my surgeon realized I had done my homework he asked which surgery I was thinking about, he didn't disagree with my opinion. Do your research, discuss it with your surgeon and you will end up with the WLS that is best for you.

@chrisredjeep@dena1258,
You will both do well with your upcoming surgeries. I wish you both a speedy, uncomplicated recovery.

I echo MrsSugarbabe on Lane Bryant's Cacique bras. I hate underwires so I get the full coverage ones without the underwire. Their prices aren't too bad, have quite a few color choices, they also have the three level closure hooks, are comfortable and often go on sale.

Congratulations on reaching your goal. You have done well and look fit!

I also weigh myself daily. I always have even pre-WLS. Unfortunately, I only lose about 1-1 1/2 pound(s) every 5 days or so, it can be discouraging. Since I am following my dietician's program I guess that my path will be the slow loser's road. At least I am losing.
