    I've been approved!

    So exciting! Congratulations.

3 week Pre op strict liquid diet hurdles!

This will soon be a distant memory. May you have an uneventful surgery and recovery. See you on the loser's bench!

    Finally on the losers bench

Congratulations! I hope you have a smooth, uneventful recovery. We saved your spot on the loser's bench.
  4. @@LipstickLady, Ah LipstickLady how droll. I have not experienced as many drawbacks as you have but hope to have many of the same benefits. The journey is lifelong and I agree certainly not easy, but definitely smart!

    You have done well! Congratulations!

The Grand Experiment with Essential Oils

Sounds interesting. I was happy to read that you apply it to your skin as opposed to ingestion, as I hate the taste of fennel (obviously it's not a formula for ingestion). I may try it when I get to the point where hunger returns, I am eight months out from surgery.
  7. Congratulations! Wonderful onederland! Exciting times.
  8. Good attitude regarding the temporary gain. I weigh every day and am getting used to seeing occasional temporary gains. At 8 months out sometimes I hear a frightened voice in my head asking,"Is this it? Have I reached the end of my weight loss?" I just keep on following my plan and try to think positively. I like your thought onward and downward!

The BEST words I could ever hear....

@@CanyonBaby, Praise God (which you did so well) ! The best news for you both. I will continue to pray for Dave's recovery and your future blessed years together. I am joyful with you!
  11. How long ago was your procedure? 2/3/2015 8 months ago What was your starting BMI and what is it now? Starting BMI 42.7 (before pre-op diet). Currently 31 If you could magically go back in time and revisit your decision, would you still get the sleeve procedure? Definitely. I was nauseated following surgery, (needed meds for that) only needed pain meds postop for 24 hours. By 5 days out felt pretty much back to normal. As others have said, I wish that I had done it sooner.

    The Moment has arrived....

@@CanyonBaby, So happy to hear surgery went well. I am sure part of that is due to you getting him fattened up and in good shape. Thank you, God. Have a happy reunion with your pups. I will continue to pray for an uncomplicated recovery for him and peace for you. Big huuuuuug!

Maybe I should not have surgery?

@@Jangy03253, Quite the dilemma. I think you will find that there are people who have this surgery with very little to no support system and do well. You will also most likely gain confidence as you lose weight. At some point you will probably tell his family what you think of their interference in your relationship with your husband, or you may even tell your husband how you feel about his lack of defending you with his family. There may never be a perfect time for the surgery, however, I don't think you will regret going through with it.
  15. borg/assimilated

    Well so here I am.

May you have a successful surgery and easy recovery! Anxiety is pretty common pre-surgery, but it seems you are managing fine. Good luck tomorrow!

That's the spirit! Remember that you are important too, so squeeze that surgery in there when you can.

Keep Cheating On 6 Week Pre-Op Diet!

My surgeon's requirement was for two weeks on the pre-op diet, with only clear liquids the day prior to surgery. It seems many surgeon's pre-op requirements vary, it would be best to consult with your surgeon.

    Miserable need help!

I was pretty nauseated for about 5 days post-op. I was feeling pretty defeated too. It will improve, just do what you can for now. If you can't do protein shakes today, then let that wait for a day and try again. Are you able to eat yogurt on your plan? S.F. pudding? Maybe you will be able to tolerate them, or broth? It does get better, I promise. Keep yourself as hydrated as you can.

Keep Cheating On 6 Week Pre-Op Diet!

You know that you must do this, so why sabotage yourself? Put on your big girl panties and stick with your pre-op plan. You can do this!

    Mind running wild

When I had made my mind up regarding surgery, nothing could have stood in my way. I was determined to have it done as soon as possible. Maybe you are not at that point yet?

Quest Bars - Soluble Corn Fiber

Oh, now I am depressed. I only have 4 bars left, checked the ingredients and they are the previous fiber ingredients. I was going to buy another box this week. Do I dare try the new soluble corn fiber ones? Maybe I can still find a box with the old formula, if not I guess I will buy one bar and try it to see how my body reacts. Thanks, @JamieLogical for the alert.

    Funniest NSV yet!

What a shock to you both! Gotta love those NSV's!

    Is this realistic after rny?

I, like DJMohr, only buy 2 or 3 pairs of pants at a time and a few tops. What has actually worked best for me is jeans with stretch fabric in them. I buy them a little tight and wear them until they are pretty loose, but they seem to follow my changing body better than non-stretch fabrics. Exciting to think about isn't it?

    Surgery 9/24 was a breeze!

Wonderful! It continues to get easier as the days go by. I also think Priscilla Shirer's books are full of wisdom, about to start Armor of God. Wishing you continued speedy recovery.
