I try to play the quiet game with my husband a lot.......doesn't work so good. It is usually I who quits before him.
    Clearly backfires.....

I have tried it. For whatever reason, ice cream of any kind feels like I have a block of cement in my stomach. I have even tried lactose free.
i have finally decided it is the cold that my pouch simply cannot handle.

My last appointment went well. He said everything looked good and took three drains out. I go back this Saturday to get the other out - cannot wait!
I am exactly two weeks today and feeling better each day!

When my kids were bitty, my youngest would holler, "I lose!" within seconds every time. Sigh.

We can definitely relate to those precious babies wearing us out!! All of them are jabber jaws. NONE STOP!!! I forgot about the QUIET GAME> LOL How could I not remember that one? My daughter when she was young would talk nonstop!! So they come by it honest!! On one of our Mother Daughter road trips, we got up real early because we were driving from Oregon to Idaho to visit her Grandma. We got up at 4am. Well, she had talked nonstop for 3 to 4 hours!! When I was a nervous wreck and I said something that I totally regretted!! I told her, Will you just shut up please!! I hurt her feelings and felt so bad!! I was so sorry. But do you know what, she has never forgotten it!! She has said it to her kids. Not one of my proudest moments but I am a nervous wreck when I travel. We are very close still but she will say remember when!!

LOL. One of my bonus daughters, when presented with the quiet game, goes about 5 seconds and then says "oh, well, I lose" and continues her almost non-stop patter. Good thing she's cute.

Today, I was reunited with Mrs. LittleBill after a long week of separation. Actually, it was a seven day week just like any other. It just seemed longer. But anyway, I got to spend some time with four of my grandchildren, all boys and all 7 years and younger.
The initial contact for as long as I can handle it, is tag team wrestling. And there is ventriloquism involved when various stuffed animals appear. There is lots of carrying on. It wears old people like me out. So I resurrected a game from when their mother was small, called the Quiet Game. The rules are simple. Whoever stays quiet the longest wins a quarter. All four of them will sit on the couch with their lips sealed and hands folded. Someone breaks eventually, and the others follow, but it is not unusual to get as many as 15 minutes of blissful silence, and for the low low price of 25 cents. It's almost evil. But I'll take it.

It's definitely not enough time. There's good reason why everyone else requires two additional nights at a hotel. Most complications occur during the first 1-4 days. It's reckless for them to discharge you from the hospital and shuttle you directly to the airport. They're trying to save $$$ but it's the wrong place to be skimping on.

When I saw this topic I could feel my blood pressure rise. LOL!
It irks me when I see or hear people say this, especially on TV or magazines. They have absolutely NO idea how hard we work to get healthy nor do they understand that obesity is a metabolic disease.
There is such a small percentage of people who are successful long term losing weight and ultimately keeping it off. I believe it is less than 5%.
Honestly, this is frustrating. The medical community outside of bariatric teams are somewhat clueless about it too. If only they would do better education maybe the public would understand that it is a metabolic disease and to cure it long term surgery is really the best option.
UGH......just adding to your rant. LOL!

As @@Babbs stated.....it is so common there are many threads on this site about it.
The best thing you can do is simply stick to your plan and it will work itself out.

I just wanted to say that I thought the fist year was tough and my goodness it was! With all the lifestyle changes that have to be made to lose all of your weight and all the changes to your body.
I have learned since than as many vets warned me....Maintenance is even harder yet. Mostly because you have met your weight loss goal and now you need to figure out how to live in this new world. You don't have the motivation of the scale or changes in clothing sizes.
Your motivation is more focused on staying healthy and not fitting in all those new clothes you bought.
It is way harder than I thought it would be but it is doable. It is doable because my tool will always be there for me to help me control myself. As long as I make good decisions, I should be in great shape 10, 15, 20 years from now. That is my goal......and thank goodness I have a tool to help me acheive it!

That could be what is causing your symptoms. I know it is hard, I had a hard time for the first month but once I was able to get fluids in me, I immediately got my energy back too.
It was about 7 weeks before I started feeling myself.
    Best of luck to you!

Yeah, because paying $500-$12,000 is "easy". Only drinking liquid for 1-4 weeks is "easy". Having 5-6 holes put into you is "easy". Dealing with CO2 gas pain is "easy". Avoiding eating and drinking at the same time is "easy".
These people frustrate me. I saw something like this a few weeks ago from a news reporter who posted something on FB about a guy who lost a bunch of weight, and that he did it the "right" way. Last time I checked, as long as you're making changes to get healthier, it's considered the "right" way.

Let us also mention another reason the media bombards us with "quick weight loss ".... MONEY!
Advertising sells.... programs have to be sponsored by ads. Madison Avenue Knows what people might listen to. And buy and try. And probably more than once!!! Repeat buyers for weight loss. Built in consumers.
There we are with the ads and the programs and the.... weight for it....MONEY!!!!
Who is advertising for Wls? Few and far between.
Next year people magazine will do it again. Guaranteed
Wls is hard work!!Maintenance is long and mindful. I could not have been who I am without Wls!!! Grateful!
(Don't mistake me for self righteous... I work at my weight and fall down) .. I do however get right back up and try again
    Sigh. I try...mostly successfully .

For me, it was easier to lose weight with surgery than without. I was less hungry, and getting fuller faster kept me satisfied. I'd say I didn't feel true hunger until about 18 months out. I can honestly say it was the easy way.
Now with maintenance? I work just as hard as any non surgical person to keep the weight off, just with the tiny added benefit of the sleeve. But I could easily eat around that if I choose.
