  1. This is a bit TMI, so apologies. I've been on a full-liquid diet, and I initially thought it might have been the tomato Soup I was drinking so I cut that out, I consume 60 grams of Protein everyday, and it's nectar chocolate Truffle that I mix with fat free Milk. I also occasionally have a diet energy V8, which could be an issue too, but I am experiencing really bad diarrhea. I haven't had a normal bowel movement since surgery, and I am wondering if anyone else has had this issue and how they resolved the issue? I am calling my clinic in a few hours to ask them what I should do, but I'd like another opinion from someone who may have this same experience. I would like to note that I am not lactose intolerant because I have constantly had this protein before my surgery too with no issues.
  2. I've been three days post-op, and i've been put on nectar protein shakes, which aren't so bad tasting (especially the chocolate) but i am finding myself dreading having to sip on it. What do you guys do to keep pushing yourself to keep sipping on it? I can't afford any others, and I'm pretty dead set on using these protein shakes for as long as I can. Is there like any other way I can take these protein shakes? Can they be warmed or is that a no no?
  3. I go into surgery tomorrow, and I have a question about my full liquid diet. I've been trying out different types of Soups, bouillon, and I found a beef bouillon that I kind of enjoy, but I added a little bit of hidden valley ranch powder, just to add a little more flavor. Now, can I do this once i actually start my diet? Or is that a big no no? I know it has to fit through a strainer, and it would but I am a little unsure since there's a little bit of herbs in it. Thank you!
  4. Hello all, My surgeon recommended I'd start the pre-op diet for 3 weeks prior to my surgery (Nov 4) instead of the standard 2 weeks, and I have a few questions for you all. I am expected to lose 5% of my body weight, which is about 10 pounds. I have lost 2 pounds so far, but I am confused whether I am doing this right. I am to *try* to consume at least 1200 calories, with 5 Protein shakes/bars, and one protein meal. The first day I had consumed about 900 calories, and I had burned around 1110 throughout the day using my HRM. I am unsure whether I am to burn as much as I consume, because wouldn't that leave me with nothing? My mother had the surgery, so she is trying to help me, but I am confused. Should I be just trying my best to walk and stay active? Burn as much calories as I can allow my body to do? I am having some troubles walking right now due to shin splints, but I am doing my very best. I am just afraid that if I don't lose the pounds by the day of my surgery it will be set back.
