Pre diet and carbonation
Carbonation can erode the lining of the esophagus and stomach, so it's best not to have them so that your tummy is as healthy as possible. Just do lots and lots of water instead!

WTH how can you be constipated and have diarrhea at the same time?
That sounds miserable! Maybe you have a hemorrhoid or something in there that feels like the rock?

Pre op diet!
I start mine this upcoming Weds. I have a few minor food funerals, but didn't go crazy. Of course I also enjoyed Thanksgiving without going overboard too. It's getting really close now!

Numbness after surgery?
Nerve issues are no fun at all, this is something I deal with a lot because of arthritis and damaged nerves. The good news is that if it is spine related, a lot of those nerves will regenerate. Have you ever tried a chiropractor adjustment? I know a lot of people are iffy about this, but sometimes it can be very helpful if you're simply out of alignment.

Best C25K?
I've done C25K in the past and the version I downloaded was music and the girl popped in and told you when to do what so it kept it upbeat and fun.

Final week of Thanksgiving post!
I hope all of you have had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I've really enjoyed all of your responses to my posts over the last week. It has been refreshing to see all the positive thoughts and answers to the Thanksgiving questions. I know that sometimes it's easy to get lost in the chaos of day to day life, and I just wanted to break up the routine a little bit and get us all thinking about the wonderful things in our lives. Today's post will wrap it all up with some memories, if you'd like to share. Please tell us one of your favorite memories from the holidays as a child or from any time in your past, and why you are thankful for those memories. Maybe it's Thanksgiving or Christmas, or maybe even a birthday. My favorite memories from childhood are of going to my grandmother's house. We have a big family with lots of cousins. Our family is very close and the times we spent together are more valuable to me than anything in the world. Laughter was an ever present component of each of those holidays, as well as a hearty meal, and everyone felt special and loved. I am thankful for these memories because they remind me that even though my relationship with food is changing, my relationship with my family will always be strong, and that's the most important thing to me.

To the man that has stood beside me through all of this!
@RJ'S/beginning I know you have been through a lot, but us newbies might only be picking up bits and pieces of it. Have you written out your story? Could you point us to it? Love your post. Happy Anniversary to you and your wonderful hubby

ISO XL Sz 16/18 Workout clothes
Rebecca, I probably have some things I can give you. Someone recently gave me some free protein samples, and she only asked that I pay it forward, so PM me your address and I'll get out a package to you. I'm a shorty, too so they will be good on length for you, too

That's the trouble with fear...
It always gets you when you least expect it. You’re cruising right along, doing your thing, and then something happens and that fight or flight reaction stops you in your tracks. Humans have fear to keep themselves safe. The fear of the unknown has kept us safe for thousands of years; we do what is most comfortable, hardly venturing out into the great unknown without a reasonable reason for doing so. In cases of elective surgery, it’s a tricky thing because as in the case of bariatric surgery, no one is saying to you something like, “Your appendix has ruptured and we have to remove it”, or “Your heart has a blockage and we must do a bypass or you’ll die”. It’s tricky because without bariatric surgery, oftentimes it’s only a matter of time until it kills us. Although in many cases it’s probably not in the immediate future, but definitely not a long way away, either. Or, maybe your health is pretty good like in my case. I don’t have heart problems, diabetes or high blood pressure, but rather my weight has robbed me of my quality of life. With degenerative arthritis in my back, the pain from the weight has taken away a lot of my joy. So, when I say that it’s only a matter of time until it kills us, it could be in the physical or emotional sense of the word. I’m amazed at the change in emotion as I go through this process and it gets closer and closer to my surgery date. I’m still vacillating between excitement and fear, and I presume that’s going to be the case until I’m on the operating table on December 18th. However, I no longer fear the procedure itself. I have the utmost confidence in my surgeon. Now, I am more apt to be fearful of the recovery itself, and occasionally the years ahead of me as I age. Since there is no long-term data specifically on my surgery type, the future is uncertain even though people have had portions of their stomachs removed due to various reasons including cancer. There are thousands upon thousands though, that have had successful surgeries and recovery times, and the number of those with life altering complications are slim. But, it does happen and I have to be educated and aware that the possibility exists. Nonetheless, the fear is an ever-constant subtlety that will likely remain. That’s the trouble with fear; it’s not something that is easily controlled.

If you weren't obese "all" of your life, what is it that caused you to become obese ?
Pregnancy, followed by a disastrous relationship is what my knee-jerk reaction is, but the fact of the matter is that I caused my obesity by not being able to put down the damn fork!
