  1. 30 lbs is amazing! Stay the course! The payoff is sooooo much better than the quick fix. It's the difference between winning $5 on a scratch off and 100 million in the lottery.
  2. Funny story. Someone I know had the sleeve, he's lost over 200 lbs in the last 18 months. Anyway, he loved the fizzies pre op too. One day, a few weeks after he was sleeved, he wanted "just a sip" of diet coke. To hear him telling the story it's hilarious. He said he thought he was literally going to DIE. He called his Dr. and told him what he did and the Dr. said, "Well, you're not going to die, but you're going to feel like you are". He learned his lesson the hard way lol
  3. Go through the success stories forum and go to the first post that has all the before and after pictures. That always helps me!
  4. Hi Karen! Welcome to BP! Please keep us posted on how you're doing
  5. This is one of those things that you need to decide with your doctor. I'm sure there's way more to it than could fit in a post, but ultimately this is up to you to decide. I would want to make sure that I understood WHY it happened and if it could happen again. That would be the one thing I would personally need to know.
  6. Their website states that some sediment will end up at the bottom but that it isn't protein and shouldn't be expected to all blend in. I have seen tips for the hot food - take your Gen and dissolve it in the smallest amount of cool liquid first and then add it to your hot liquid, but not over 140°
  7. haha I'd like to revise mine to all of the above!
  8. I am looking forward to cooking after surgery. I have been collecting / pinning so many bariatric friendly recipes that my family will love! Especially the world according to eggface. Her recipes look so great!
  9. I can't wait to be able to wear boots that go to my knee!!! What do you wear now or what do you want to be able to wear one day that you couldn't wear as an overweight person?
  10. When I've had past procedures, no pain meds just means the last dose must be worn off by the time you drive. So, depending on the meds, 4-12 hours.
  11. I have read of others having colds prior to surgery and as long as there's no fever you should be good to go.
  12. It's all going to depend on how you feel, from what I hear everyone is different. If you can't drive you could always take a cab or get someone to drive you.
  13. Just stick to your plan and keep your eye on the prize!
  14. Chick-fil-a chicken nuggets are the BOMB. This will probably be my go-to post op if I'm out and need protein.
  15. From what I've read I think that's possible, but even if it doesn't happen, just think about how great you'll look next year!
  16. I have never seen anything like that. That's interesting that they would suggest coffee and tea since most Dr.'s want you to get off caffeine before surgery.
  17. You look amazing and you look like you feel amazing, too!
  18. Did you surgeon not give you a pre-op diet plan?
  19. That's awesome! I bought some pants once just because they were SO cute. They are hanging in my closet and I call them my "goal pants"
  20. Nobody but you can say if you're making the right decision. For me, it's definitely the right decision
  21. "Whatever I want with no consequences" I am guessing that's a stretch. Can you eat the VOLUME you used to eat? I would say if you are eating and becoming full after small portions you are blessed! That's awesome - be proud
