bobbyswife replied to GenaW828's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Did your surgeon recommend one? There are so many! I am starting pre-op on 12/3 and I am using Bariatric Advantage. Unjury is also super good. Some people like Premier Protein, and others like IsoPure -

Lots of people use ice chips, broth, S/F jellow, S/F popsicles, etc. Keep it interesting. Well, at least as interesting as you can for a liquid diet. Welcome to the site! You'll find tons of positive people here. -
You read my mind! I wanted to ask this too!

Tammy, I have been praying so hard for you every day. I really mean that. I hope that you find the physical, mental and spiritual strength to continue to fight as hard as you can. I believe wholeheartedly that this experience will be over soon and you will be on your way to a much healthier and happier life. I am so, so sorry you have had to go through this. I can't imagine what you and your family are going through. Please keep us posted. -
Do you have degenerative arthritis or fibromyalgia?
bobbyswife replied to bobbyswife's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@@funcatch I wonder if the pain is your body adjusting to the weight loss? I've heard that sometimes when arthritic patients lose weight, it can actually get a little worse before it gets better. -
Flu season is here, and so is your surgery
bobbyswife posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know a lot of people are gearing up for surgery over the next few months. You know what else is gearing up? You got it, the FLU. This is just a friendly reminder to get your flu shot if that's your thing. At the very least wash your hands often, take a multivitamin and extra C. Clean those computer keyboards, doorknobs, light switches, etc. particularly if you have kids that go to public school or you work outside of your home. I had the flu last year and thought I would have to get better to die. Don't let the flu derail your surgery! Stay healthy! -

Is it mandatory to quit smoking?
bobbyswife replied to kymmiej11's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Your chances of getting pneumonia are greatly increased if you are a smoker. I quit a year ago and I still worry about my lungs. -
There's an old saying that says "Your attitude determines your altitude" and in this sense, I think that you need to focus on being positive and remind yourself why you did this. Instead of saying "I made a mistake", say to yourself, "I made a choice and now I'm going to do whatever it takes to make it work for me". By staying positive and using uplifting self talk, you can combat those nasty negative thoughts. You are strong. You are courageous. You are NOT weak, you are NOT a failure. Find the strength deep within yourself and do not grieve what you decided before this surgery, and that was this is what you needed to do. Take lots of deep breaths and breathe in positive energy and blow away all the negative energy. Much love and light to you!

If you send out positivity to the universe you will get back positivity. The same goes for negativity. Breathe and enjoy life. This will be a memory one day. Trust that everything happens for a reason.

She won't "let you"? Is she holding you hostage? You are a grown woman, and you can make your own choices. One of my favorite quotes from the book Eat, Pray, Love is "Stop wearing your wishbone where your backbone ought to be". I think it applies in this situation. Mommy's love us, but you are allowed to stand up for yourself. Just tell her nicely that you appreciate her concern and help, but you are going to get out for a while.

Medicine taken with food
bobbyswife replied to nikki9's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Check with the Dr. first. Some capsules are not supposed to be opened, as they can cause problems with your digestive system or if they are time released the process is screwy by opening them. Just check with them first
