    Px90 6 weeks out can I start

My surgeon said no weights or core exercises for only the first four weeks, I sm 6 weeks out now and do the treadmill pretty much every day, but ready to start weights and core! Go for it!
  2. I am 6 weeks out and being the Thanksgiving chef, I will probably taste some of everything but that is it. I think I can do it!
  3. My surgeon said that if it doesn't bother me to use a straw I can, however it does bother my stomach, so if I can avoid it I do. I don't think that air can stretch your pouch though! I am doing my first 5 k on Thanksgiving, I do like to drink while I exercise, so a camelback may not be a bad idea!

    Doctor's app

I don't know how much you have to lose, but just make sure you are going all you can to help yourself during this "window of opportunity". Exercise, watch your protein and calories and make sure you are drinking enough! I know you will get there. 70 lbs sounds really good to me!

    Nauseated!

I am no expert but I have read some books that said that if you are having problems, it is good to go back to the liquid diet for a few days. I really hope you feel better!
  6. I really don't get the differences among Surgeons regarding the diet. I celebrated 6 weeks post op today and I have never been on puréed foods. As of today I can eat anything, slowly with bites the size of s marble. My diet was restricted to eggs, toast, flaky fish, soft cooked vegetables etc but never puréed. I feel really badly for someone 5 months out who hasn't eaten anything solid yet!
  7. Every dietician and doctor is different, but my plan was to increase from 1/4 cup to 1/2 cup at week 3 post op. Although, at this time I was still restricted from meat and raw vegetables until week 6 postop.

I never reached 400 calories until week 4!

3 weeks out; size of pouch?

I wasn't allowed protein drinks after week 2. Even then it was 4 oz at a time 2 - 3 times per day! Because it is liquid it is going straight through your pouch, so quantity shouldn't be an issue, it's calories I would be worried about. Do you have a dietician? If not I would talk to someone at your surgeons practice.
  10. I was back to work (teleworking) on day 8, I physically went back to my office on day 13. I felt great and was getting bored at home. So it worked for me.

    Hospital

I took magazines, books, 3 pairs of pajamas, 6 pairs of underwear etc. New bathrobe and slippers. I didn't use a thing. The hospital even provided a toothbrush and toothpaste in the table, so I didn't open my suitcase until it was time to leave.

    Bummed out

I know every doctor is different but I know I am required to drink 64 oz of liquid per day. Please don't give up!

    HELP!

I am 8 days post-op today, I am still sip sip sipping as my dietician calls it. I feel really good, but can't imagine drinking 3 glasses of anything in 45 minutes. Take it easy and wait a few seconds in between sips to see if you have any pain. If so, stop for awhile until the pain goes away. Good Luck!

PostOp Diet... what can I have?

Hi! I am on post-op day 8 and I can't speak for your doctor but my practice requires a diet of liquids for the first week. Diluted juice, flavored Water, etc with 4 oz of Protein drink 3 x per day. Yesterday I was able to begin tasting light yogurt, small curd cottage cheese, loose mashed potatoes, loose grits and no sugar added apple sauce. I can't say I don't desire to eat real food, but I know the consequences of opening my pouch up are sometimes fatal, so I am following my surgeons directions to a tee! Good luck to you!
  17. i am on day 2 of 3 liquid diet days. I wonder why some surgeons require 2 weeks while others require just a few days. I am starving and sick of drinking, I woke up dreaming about food and then realized I couldn't have any. My surgery is Tuesday, 14 October at 10:00 am. I can't wait to not feel hungry. Good Luck everyone.
