  1. I am only 8 weeks out from surgery BUT I am so sick and tired of seeing posts (I have stopped reading them) about "when can I have alcohol?". For me, this is the farthest thing from my mind. I have yet to hit my calorie goal of 700 and some days don't get all of my Protein and Water in. So it baffles me that people so early out are worried about the alcohol.

I do realize that this is a public forum and everyone has their right to post whatever topic they choose.

It certainly seems like there have been a ton of them this week.

Now I will get over it.

  2. My surgery was originally scheduled for April 28th and rescheduled for May 26th. I did not lose the required amount of weight requested and I was not tracking my food daily. Not insurance requirements but my program's requirements.

Like you, I was completely heart broken. Now I realize it was the best thing for me. It gave me another month to really prepare for the surgery and new lifestyle.

As disappointing as being resceduled is, it could be for the best.

  3. I was so proud of myself when I did my liquid diet and did not cheat. Never thought I had the will power for it. I now realize that it not only shrinks your liver but it prepares you to start your new journey.

I never ate cottage cheese before; I eat it now becuase it has a good amount of Protein in it.

I hate most Protein water; I drink it because I need the help with protein.

I'm horrible with taking my vitamins; I always have been but recently set up reminders for these.

I loved Pasta and potatoes pre-op; Haven't had them becuase it's not recommended.

Most things in life are a choice.

  4. I was sleeved on May 26th. I was concerned about having a catheter but was relieved when they gave it to me. It was done while I was already under. I was thankful that I did not have to get up evey hour that first night to use the restroom,. Mine's was taken out the next day. I stayed in the hospital for two days.

  6. I was sleeved on May 26th and weighed 300 lbs. I am 5 weeks out and weigh 271 lbs. Fotunately I did not hit the dreaded three week stall or maybe I did and just didn't realize it.

My relationship with the scale has definitely changed. I still weigh myself almost daily but I have found that the number no longer sends me into a frenzy. I think reading so much here I finally realized that the scale does not make or break success.

I am on soft foods and dabbling with some regular foods. Had chicken and some pulled pork. No beef. I really want a salad and some fresh fruit. Waiting to here back from NUT.

I truly have found that this forum prepared me for surgery and post-op.

  7. Surgery was on May 26th. I have been walking and sipping but this gas will not leave. Out damn gas! Out damn gas! Lol.

Catheter and IV are gone. Hopefully I will be discharged tomorrow. I'm looking forward to the next phase in this journey.

  8. As some of you know I was originally scheduled for April 28th. I went in for my pre-surgical appointment on April 22nd and was rescheduled tenatively for May 26th becuase I did not lose all of the weight required.

Just left pre-surgical appointment and I will be sleeved on May 26th!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Day 3 of liquid diet.

I'm excited and it just got real!
