Hello all! My name is Sandy and I finally have my surgery date, November 20th. I am excited! Since I received word of my surgery date I have become overly emotional about everything. I am not sure if it is fear of the unknown, relief that I am finally moving forward, or scared of how I will react to losing weight. I am wondering if anyone else is feeling this way, scared of what it will feel like to not be heavy. My weight has been almost like a security blanket. Sounds a little crazy, right? However, I am ready for November 20th to get here!!!

so many people to see - places to go!! to do -places to go, people to meet
you need to find out from insurance if you are required to do a 3 or 6 month pre-diet
you need a list of past weights over the years
different methods of ypu've tried to loose weight - example WW, Jenny Craig etc
co-morbitities like high blood pressure, diabetes, cpap
PCP will be able to help with above issues
insurance company might require more things or less things
the one thing you are required to have through this long process is patience

I wonder how many people,gain weight to pass their 40 bmi if they are only a pound shy?

Right before I had my surgery a good friend of mine asked what my goal size was, and I told her a 10. The day I came home from surgery, she came over and had bought me a pair of jeans from Victoria's Secret in size 10. I remember looking at them thinking, "wow, I will never fit in these tiny things".
I wore them today

Went to the park with my kids yesterday & was able to play with them on all the equipment, even go down the slide! They loved it that I played & could keep up with them. They kept talking about it all night.
It was a GREAT Mother's Day!!!

Went to a theme park yesterday, and got on my first roller coaster in more than 10 years (12 years to be exact!) fear of being told I didn't fit kept me off every ride for that long.
After the whole day my hubby was like just get on one already. I went alone! In fear of humiliation! And this ride was CRAZY!!! lol and my hubby recorded it! LOL I couldn't believe I fit! I couldn't believe I loved it! Me and hubby are planning a date night back so we can get on more.... Together:)

I am an extremely happily married women ....but sex got better!!!
I look people in the eye at restaurants now instead of feeling guilty for eating like a heffer
I catch men checking me out (not that I care but hey....it's flattering)
I can wear clothes at the store...like normal ones. Affordable ones. No more lb
I have more energy and appreciate my curves
I can feel my bones again (been buried for 5 yrs)
I. Am. Happy.
Best decision I've made hands down (besides marrying my hot hubby)

Fit in airplane seat and no extension. Excess seat belt left over. LOOK!

I can pray on my knees and get up afterwards.

I wake up excited for another day!
I can eat foods I love in small amounts!
I can RUN!
I feeeeeeel beautiful!

Woooow a 10k!! Congrats everyone!!! Yeah I've had a few moments in the fitting room crying from joy lol can't believe I'm fitting in to smaller and smaller sizes.

I had my surgery march 2010 I went from 280 down to 160. I go up and down depending on the kind of calories I consume. If I don't concentrate on Protein and eat sweets and junk I can climb. It's very easy to take off once I refocus though. I am at 162 as of today but last week was at 167.... I was obviously getting off track but caught myself and am now refocused!!

Think of getting your sleeve as starting over as a baby. You start off with just liquids, then progress to soft puréed foods, then a little more solid foods, and finally you start seeing what you can tolerate. This all takes months. But once you get through the "stages" of post op you will be able to eat like you did before, just a lot less!

Per my Bariatric surgeon.... Obesity will soon be considered a "disease" in result requiring insurance companies to cover the surgery. I am not sure when this will change, but it's coming. ????

I have my first pre-op appt tomorrow, Pulmonologist. ☺️ 1000 more appointments to go. Lol!! I'm hoping to get everything done so I can get scheduled for November!!
