Cheated every day of 7 day pre op diet

I should have added, not being prepared when out running around is my fault. My obesity, while having a genetic component..is also my fault. I take full responsibility for my behavior, and actions. My point is, we are all human, and do make mistakess
  4. Feb 18th is the day! I am nervous, excited..ready to start my new life! I am also worried about hair loss, amd loose skin. NUT says protein, protein, protein! I also hear gelatin is good, not the kind we get in Jell-O, but the kind you get making stock, aka bone broth. You can alao purchase good gelatin to add to food.

Cheated every day of 7 day pre op diet

I wish I was perfect, but sadly, I am not. I have cheated on my pre-op. I have a pretty hectic life..kids, babies are sometimes unpredictable, sometimes I find myself in situations where I haven't eaten enough due to being out running kid/family errands. What happens then, is that I am starving in the evening. I do my best to go with protein, but sometimes, I slip up. I imagine it will happen post op too. I have myself set up for success, but life happens, I refuse to fall apart, or call myself, or anyone else, a failure for being human. The best we can do is pick ourselves up, and try again. This is not an easy fix, and I am sure as shit not giving up because I slipped up.

Cheated every day of 7 day pre op diet

Battling hunger, head or otherwise, is no joke. Why be critical of someone struggling? We are all here because we have, or have had issues with food. OP, don't give up, and don't beat yourself up, just pick yourself up, and keep trying. You will get there.

    Sleep study

I had my sleep study at home, because I had a breast feeding baby, which is the only reason it was approved by insurance. I received my machine in November, and I still cannot sleep with it. I put it on every night, try my hardest, and always have to pull it off. I was cleared for surgery because my SD card shows I try, diligently, every night. I am the kind of person that cannot sleep in odd situations, or when I am really uncomfortable. It sucks.

    Developing Diabetes After WLS?

Diabetes isn't necessarily just an obesity related disease. There are 2 types, one comes from being overweight, and one is likely genetic. My dad is a thin man, and a diabetic, as was my uncle. During pregnancy, I had gestational diabetes, my urine would have high proteins or sugar if I was dehydrated. I would ask about that also.
  11. I am not sure how I missed the date on this one! Sleep deprivation I guess. Lol
  12. Ouchy!! So glad it isn't a DVT!! Blown veins are no joke! They hurt! The nurse blew out a vein in my hand during labor, it took weeks for the bruising, swelling, and discomfort to go away!
  13. Go to the er. You can get a clot in your arm, I know someone who did. Better safe than sorry.
  14. Diverticulitis is an infection in the colon that causes little pockets to swell up, it makes it hard, or impossible to poop. Requires antibiotics that are really nasty, and hard on the body. My mom gets it if she doesn't eat right, including getting enough fiber in.

    Anyone take steroids?

The steroid is to rapidily reduce the swelling in your stomach. The benefit outweighs the risk of irritation that nsaids and steroids can cause at this point.
  16. I am unable to follow your link.

    Water

A good friend of mine, who has lost over 120 after being sleeved, told me she has to use a straw, or she cannot get the water in. She has been using a straw since the beginning. I feel like we have to do what works for us post op to get our fluids in. My surgeon allows straws 3 weeks out.

    When does it sink in?

I am pretty calm also, though I still have 6 days until surgery. I have spent a lot of time watching You Tube videos, read so much info, I think I am just very prepared for what is coming. I will probably be a wreck the night before. Good luck tomorrow, keep us posted!

    Retaining water

You should get in touch with your surgeon to make sure there isn't another issue, like blood clots. I know that sounds awful, but you shouldn't be that swollen.

I know that with the Unjury, the temp needs to be under 140 degrees. Herr is my water bottle, a friend made it for me.

    Hey everyone! New here!

Hi there! I am also scheduled for Feb 18. I am on a low carb, high Protein diet. I cheated tonight I had been so good. Anyways, I also have a 14 month old!! I am worried about recovery with a very active, all boy toddler! 1 week and we will be on the Loser's Bench!!
  23. For me, the decision to be sleeved is a no brainer. I can lose weight with extreme dieting, what I can't seem to do, is keep it off. Genetics are against me. The sleeve will be my support buddy, it is going to help keep my binge eating in check. I haven't named my sleeve yet, as I will be having the surgery Feb 18, I am waiting to see it's personality. My surgeon explained to my husband, who is a naturally thin man, that basically, my body's biology is set to store as much fat as it can, that I will likely have to work hard the rest of my life to be fit, but with the sleeve, it will be quite a bit easier, still hard work, but managable.
  24. I am telling a few, close people, not telling some people anything, and the there are some people I am telling I have excessive ulcers. Some people won't understand, and it just isn't anyone's business, I really do not need any negativity. My parents, brothers, husband, kids, sister in law, aunt, and my 3 closest friens know.

    Your meal/protein schedule

Make your protein your fluids. Try unflavored protein powder, try isopure in powerade zero, or gatorade. That way you are killing 2 birds with 1 stone. Isopure alone has a weird taste, but I mixed grape with grape powerade zero and it is tasty!
