    Breastfeeding after surgery?

I am 2 weeks post op. I stopped breastfeeding my 15 month old in October, as my blood work showed severe vit d deficiency, and the vit d supplements I needed would be toxic to him. That being said, I cannot imagine trying to breastfeed, I cannot get enough calories in. Keeping hydrated is rough, and your belly will have numerous incisions, that will be somewhat sore. There are amazing women that do it! Good luck!

Where did you have you surgeries?

Puget Sound Surgical Center, Dr. Landerholm. I had an amazing experience.

    Being put under

Best relaxed feeling. It's a really great drifting feeling, and the Next thing you know, they are waking you up.

    POST OP DRAIN

No drain for me, and I have 6 incisions.
  7. Two months of 20mg Omeprazole for me.
  8. Oh, and my husband has had sex with me when I was in shape, pregnant, with a boot on my leg after ankle surgery, on my ugliest days, and a day preop.
  9. I have yet to meet a man who isn't intrigued by scars. They usually have a story. If you have not had a weight problem, and are not looking into batuatrics, my opinion is you do not belong on this board. I am sorry you have breast cancer scars, but I imagine the reason men aren't interested, is your overall attutude. It pretty much sucks. People aren't attracted to shit attitudes. OP, men say dumb things. I hope that he just used the wrong words, and that his explanation for them, are his true feelings.
  10. I called insuance, every 2 days to ask if it had been received, and then if it was approved. Then, called the surgeon's ins coordinator to let them know to look for it. I have no patience, and didn't want to slip through the cracks.
  11. The beginning is tough, there is a learning curve for sure. But I know some people over a year out, and they can eat whatever they want, just not in large quantities. You do not have to be a stick figure when you are done, you control that. I am approaching week 2 post op. I have had zero complications. No nausea, or vomitting. I am not hungry. It is tough getting all the fluids in. But, I know it will get better. I already feel healthier. If you aren't ready, you aren't ready. Plain and simple. My suggestion would be to do it, based on the health issues that are headed your way. But, you gotta be ready. I wish you the best!

    Dinnerware

Target has little ceramic bowls, I bought two, and a toddler dinner plate. I mostly use the ceramic bowls. There are many different colors, and designs. I use my baby's spoons please excuse the mess around my stuff.

    Protein powder

Isopure is gross, but a great source of protein. I mix half of the bottle the grape frost with powerade zero, or crystal light, a day. 10oz isopure with about 8-10oz of whatever i mixed it with. The black tea lemon is far better than grape, but i still mix it. I like raspberry ice Crystal Light.

    Protein powder

So far, Unjury. Chocolate, and Chicken Soup. These aren't powder, but I also use Isopure zero carb, and Premier Protein.

    Pre-Surgery Behavioral Changes

Definitely just focus on completely quitting the smoking/vapes. You will be so happy you did.
  16. I agree, legal or not, get your hands on some. It may be that it helps allow you to get some extra protein in, and will help you heal.
  17. I was allowed strained creamed soups day 3, as part of my full liquids.

    Bruising Post Surgery

I think your belly is likely to bruise just from the trauma of it being dug around in. I large, ugly bruise is probably the heparin injection. Mine was on my thigh. It was huge, like 7 inches long, 3 inches wide, freaked my husband out.

Cheated every day of 7 day pre op diet

I only lost 2 pounds post op..because I gained 10 on prednisone due to bronchitis. So while it was actually an12 pound loss, as far as the surgeon was concerned, it was 2. They still did surgery, and my liver was "absolutely perfect," quote from my doc. They will still do the surgery, unless your insurance specifies no gain.
  20. Wow. I pretty much agree with all the previous comments. What a completely selfish dick. I would be seeking a divorce attorney, and be sure he knew how unsatisfying he is in bed, and all other aspects of his shallown personality. I am so incredibly sorry for you.
  21. Ooh, sugar free jello, and pudding. They were amazing when I got home. I would eat 2-3 bites, and give the rest to my husband. I also bought snall containers to portion out my food.
  22. I bought flavored drops for water, and multiple protein powders. Unjury-Chicken Soup (tastes like top ramen broth), Chocolate, and unflavored. I have used all but unflavored. I have BA banana. Isopure zero carb grape frost, I do 1/2 a bottle a day mixed with powerade zero or crystal light. I have Syntrax cappuccino and cookies n cream powders, and Black Tea Lemon Isopure (waaay better than grape) on the way. I haven't had any weird taste issues. I alternate all of them.

    stomach size

I am on day 10, and that is the 1st day of puree for me. Mashed potato is on my list. My NUT said nothing is off limits, as long as we get our protein in 1st. Moderation, and smart choices. I had 1/4 cup refried beans thinned with milk, 1/4 cup homemade split pea soup, and 1.5 tablespoons of mashed potato thinned with milk. Not all at once

    Very gurgly

I was on clear liquid the day of surgery, and the following day. Then 9 days of full liquids. Vitamins start with puree, you cannot take vits on an empty stomach, even not sleeved! Your vits should also be chewable. It sounds like you need to slow down.

    Hungry!

Are you hungry, or just rumbley in your tummy? The rumbley may be acid, or your tummy just talking back. 10 days out and I still don't feel hunger, but I do get a gurgley sensation before I take my omeprazole. On day 2, I had to make an effort to drink my shakes and water.
