I'm newly sleeved too. Sleeved 2/3. I've been at a standstill too. For about a week now. Your body is holding onto as much as it can. We will start losing again!

10 days out. All my incisions are closed and healing well. I just have pain at the incision site where they took my stomach out. I'm still on a full liquid diet for another week

I'm 10 days post op and I feel sharp pain in upper left abdomen right at the incision that took my stomach out. Has anyone experienced this? Normal? I'm applying a heating pad. The pain comes and goes every 30 seconds. TIA

Just had gastric sleeve with Dr Kame! 2/3/15. The Kane Center works like a well oiled machine. The care provided is outstanding. I had surgery Alexian Elk Grove. As a nurse myself I was amazed at the exceptional care the entire staff provided. I would recommend the program to anyone!

I'm having surgery today too! Good luck! I'm ready to be a more active mom in my kids life and be more if a wife to my amazing supportive husband! Thinking of youThis network of 'friends' is so amazing! I'm scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 3 and as the day approaches, I begin to question my decision. My husband and those of my family whom I've told have been supportive and letting me know that whatever decision I make is fine with them. They don't push me either way and want this to be my decision. They love me unconditionally. This last week leading up to surgery has been emotionally difficult. It's on my mind constantly.
Then I read your blog Mae7365. I realized that at 52 years old, 3 children, and 6 grandchildren just beginning their lives...I want to be there! One of the more difficult things for me to wrap my head around is that even though I'm overweight, other health problems haven't started to plague me yet. That's the denial part coming out! High cholesterol, pre-diabetic, and that nagging bit of arthritis in my knee and shoulder and all the other things that remind me I'm fat get pushed out of my mind when the doubt creeps in. Funny how silent they become the closer I get to getting rid of them. "We're not really here" they seem to say. "You just keep taking medicine and we'll be quiet for a little while longer." I can hear them now.
Yea, I'm still scared of the life change. All change is scary to a point. But I look in the mirror now and look at a picture of me on my husband's motorcycle a couple of years ago. My belly halfway covered the gas tank! And it was a big bike!! There will be no more, "Let's play later" being said to the g-kids. No more, "I'll kill the horse if I get on him." No more "I don't feel like getting in the pool right now." No more getting discouraged when I go shopping cause it either looks like a tent or nursing home clothes. I'm ready for the "LET'S GO!"
Thank you to all those who share these stories of your victories! It's what keeps the rest of motivated!!

I'm so glad I'm not the only one that can't stand the Bariatric Advantage shakes! I'm also with the Kane center. Going shopping today. I'm practically starving myself. I've only been able to tolerate 1-2 shakes a day because it just makes me so nauseous.

I'm struggling too! 7 more days for me. We can do it!
-
Surgery date Feb 3rd! 7 more days of Protein Shakes and clear liquids. Ugh. Its rough but I'm doing it!
-
I'm with you. On day 6 and the thought of another Protein Shake makes me sick.My doctor requires them too and I cant stand them. I add some ice and PB2 or frozen strawberries. I am done with 1 week with one to go. They are really thick. Good luck!

I am currently on bariatric advantage. I'm on day 6 of preop diet. I have to say...I can't stand the thought of another Protein Shake.Did anyone else's doctor require them to buy Bariatric Advantage shakes and Vitamin packages? I've had other Protein Shakes. Are the bariatric ones good? I'm worried about having to drink them for 10 days. What flavors are the best? Thanks!

Looking to purchase a blender prior to surgery. What's the best? And do any puree? Looking at either the Ninja or Nutribullet Rx. Suggestions?

Are you all keeping your wls as a secret? I wanted to but saying im having surgery and come back to work weeks later and down 30 or so lbs isn't going to make alot of sense. We are nurses and pretty smart to figure out it wasn't just a normal surgery. Anyone else?
-
Thanks! Im an L and D rn too!

As a nurse. ..how much time off did you take?

Question...my stomach looks like yours. I dont have a date yet doing all the preoperative. Does the "PANIS" go away?
