Clenzen: you are not crazy to be scared! I think that's perfectly normal!! It is still major surgery.

Grandma2tweeties: I didn't really get nervous until the day before when I was doing laundry and packing! And oddly enough, I wasn't nervous the day of after I got to the hospital. I really didn't have much time...I was in surgery about an hour & 15 mins after I arrived.

Grandma2tweeties - Yes, I did do the pre-op liquid diet for 2 weeks. Didn't lose as much as I've seen others lose on here but lost 7 lbs the first week and 4 the 2nd. But like the Dr said, when in my life have I ever lost 11 lbs in two weeks. Answer: NEVER!! I'll weigh myself tomorrow to see how I've done this week. Pretty black dress: Glad it helps! I can tell you, tomorrow is a week since my surgery and I am beyond pleased with how good I feel! I've only had pain (and even that is very slight) from one incision and today that is almost gone. I've had no problems moving or walking. Even went to the mall with a friend and walked around yesterday. Best of luck and I hope your surgery and recovery go well!

LOVE THIS IDEA!! I was just complaining that I was tired of eating cold broth and Soup...and it's only been 6 days since my surgery so I still have a ways to go!! I'll have to try it!

Just thought I'd share an update! Got released from hospital the day after surgery. I have had zero issues...I can't believe it! Still have some minor pain in one incision (ended up with 8 due to hiatal hernia repair) but that's it! Getting all my protein in but still working on water. Walking almost an hour a day...lots of walking the halls in the house due to really cold weather. But hey...it gets it done!! Anyway, hope everyone else who had their surgery this week is also recovering well!

Had my sleeve on Monday. Started my "liquid diet" yesterday. I've noticed as I start eating, I feel some cramping sensations. They don't last long. Just wondered if this was normal? Guessing maybe it is my still swollen stomach reacting? Anyone else experience this? If so, how long did it last?

Hey everyone! Thanks for the prayers and good wishes! Surgery went well but lasted longer than planned...4 hours. Surgeon had some trouble with hiatal hernia. Feel good...just tired and the gas pain in my shoulders is awful. Trying to walk but for some reason, get nauseated really bad when I do. Hopefully will get to go home tomorrow.

Headed to the hospital in about 45 mins!! It seemed like this day would never get here! I am both excited and nervous as heck!! Praying everything goes smoothly!

OMG yes!!! Was just talking to a friend of mine about it today! Went to the bank at lunch...there is a fried chicken place across the street...have never, ever smelled it before today! And that's all I could smell! And it smelled so good!! I thought maybe I was going crazy!!

I'm also having a hiatal hernia repair done with my surgery on 11/10. I asked my surgeon if I would be in more pain, etc due to that but he said I shouldn't be. The only issue may be swallowing? I guess due to swelling maybe.

I'm scheduled for 11/10...start my pre-op diet next week!

I'm also getting sleeved on 11/10! I have a two week "liquid" diet prior to surgery. I'm supposed to replace all meals with a Protein shake, but I can also have really thinned out oatmeal and cream of wheat, strained 98% fat free cream based Soups, sugar free applesauce, sugar free pudding and sugar free popsicles. Bad thing is I have to start the last day of a trip I'm going on in a week and a half! That should be fun!!

Hi there! I went to a seminar in June and my surgery is scheduled 11/10. Took a bit longer to get me scheduled due to the Dr finding two small stomach ulcers during my EGD...those had to heal before they would schedule me. I got lucky with the insurance...it took only a week to approve! Good luck to you!

I saw somewhere a lady that had sleeve surgery that said she used a toddler's sippy cup in the beginning because she had a habit of gulping when she drinks. I do too so I'm think that as silly as it may feel, it may work!

Glad to hear everything went well! I have heard bad stories about the gas pains, so you'll have to let me know if you discover anything that helps!! My surgery is 4 weeks from today!!

Hi there! Just joined the site! My surgery is scheduled for November 10th!!! I'm so excited!! No nerves yet...although as the day gets closer I am sure those nerves will show up!! Starting to buy Vitamins and Protein shakes in preparation. Healthy me....here I come!!!!
