Today my mom mentioned that my calendar had a sticker on it that said Anniversery. That was my original surgery date I forgot I had done that. When I told her what it was She didn't say anymore. Clearly she can't understand how important and life changing this is for me. I wish I had her support:( I will always remember the day I was given a chance to LIVE again. And I will Celebrate Nov 6 for the rest of my life.

It's so exciting to read through this thread and see quite of few of us having surgery on the same day. That means we will have the same Birthday!!!! for the new life we're about to live!

Jazzyring1 got a reaction from Idahospud in 2 days before sugery and feeling conflicted
I understand your feeling of being selfish. Let me say this my biggest fear is having this surgery and changing. But then I thought about it and I deserve every opportunity to expand my life span. I have 3 kids to think about and one is a toddler. I want to be there for them. I have become the mom that delegates work to the kids as I sit on the couch because I'm too tired and fat to help clean up. I don't want to be that person. I want to be able to get the rides with them at the amusement park. I want to be able to keep up with my 19 month old son. So you deserve this just as much as everyone in here do. You're not being selfish by doing the surgery. You will be cheating yourself out on happiness and being a great mom to your kids. So do it for them. Most importantly do it for you. Life is to short not to take advantage of any good opportunity. (Sorry long response)

That is what is so hard. I feel like I am being selfish by going thru with the surgery and I have felt guilty for even wanting it from day one BUT I feel like I NEED it. I have 2 littles at home (3 1/2 yr & 20 months) and I want to be there for them as the healthy fun mom, not the fat tired one. The fatter I got the more co dependant I became/ am. I am insanely afraid of failing at this and now am worried that I will fail it like I do every other diet and even my marriage. Wish I would have enrolled in counceling BEFORE this happened. Then maybe I wouldn't be so afraid of it.

@@angierue I told my doctor 180. He asked me how much weight I wanted to lose and I told him as much as I can to fix comfortably in the roller coaster rides at the theme parks. Lol together we came up with that number which will be 150 lbs smaller than what I am now

    I'm a "Forever Fluffy"! Lol
When my doctor asked what I wanted my goal to be, I immediately said 180. I don't know why that weight came to mind but it would be the smallest I've been in I can't remember when.
I'm pretty sure I was 150-170 in high school. I remember when I hit 260, thinking that was insane.
I did a metabolic diet when I was 330 and dropped 75 pounds. I gained it all back, then some.
When I went to my first appointment with the surgeon, I was 380.5. I almost burst into tears. This morning, I weighed 358.4. I'm on my pre-op diet, trying to lose 38lbs before surgery.
I still think 180 is where I'll be comfortable. For me, it's all about being healthy and comfortable, not skinny. I'm 5'6" so I think it'll great on my frame. :-)
(That's my long winded answer Lol)

    Jazzyring1 reacted to Sweetbaby1 in 100lbs down
I reached my highest weight of 293lbs on January of this year. I was devastated and could no longer identify myself. I was obese, unhappy and pretty much depressed. After college I found myself so heavy and gain a over 100lbs since high school. I never would have thought it would have been me. I knew this surgery was my only way out. Understanding that it is just a "tool" I began working out, eating right and completely staying consistent with my plan. I have had some slip ups and the road was not easy, but to be down 100lbs and it has not even been a whole year is insane. I workout just about every day, the thought of not being able to work out makes me upset. So many people have noticed and I am getting compliments left to right. I have about 30 lbs to go and I will be at my goal. I am beyond excited to enter in the new year with a new attitude. This has been the best decision I have ever made for myself. If I can help or encourage anyone else please feel free to reach out. Best of luck to everyone and your journey

I'm on day 5 of preop with just my Protein Shakes. I am doing it for exactly one whole month. It's tough but 10lbs down in 5 days so far.

Im a Kaiser peep, using the South Sac location. My surgery date was changed from 10/2 to 11/6 due some health issues. But Im clear to go now and just have one last dr appointment for my post op diet class. Is anyone else in November or have kaiser? I had lots of peeps on my October list but now I have a new date and would love to have some others to follow along with and share our journeys..
