Hello. I'm new to the site from Brooklyn Ny I'm just starting the process. My insurance company is requiring 6 months of weigh ins and I have about 5 different test I have to complete along with a nutritionist and psych visit. I'm in my 2nd month.
I cannot wait. I'm so ready.
I thought about getting the surgery two years ago and never did, thinking I could lose it on my own. I joined weight watchers lost some and gained it back and then some. Just wanted to say I love this site. I go on a read everyone stories everyday. It's great to have such a great support group and an African American one at that. Good luck to everyone. I can't wait to be on the losers bench.
Welcome! This is a great site to get all your questions answered from others whom have gone thru and still are going thru the process.

My instructions were to take Milk of Magnesia or Magnesium Citrate if I hadn't had a BM in 3-5 days. I'm 5 days post op and finally had a movement today.
Thanks. I'm going to get some. And call my doctor in the morning to confirm but sounds good to me.

I'm 5 days post op and haven't defecated since the morning before surgery. Is that normal? Any suggestions on what I should do

I will be sleeved November 10th does anyone have any good advice. Just starting to get nervous.
Just relax. It is very nerve racking. But be prepared. I was in pain the 1st day. Still in pain 4 days post op. It comes and goes. You're gonna struggle drinking. Which is normal. Just take every day by day literally. In no time you will be "normal" again

I had my surgery November 4th. Spent two days in the hospital and now have been recovering at home. I would love to have a surgery buddy because I have never known anyone to get this surgery. Because of that I feel quite isolated and would love to have someone I could share my journey with.
I had my surgery the same day. My stomach been growling alot. I eat Soup and then it starts to hurt so I assume that means I'm full. But then 15 minutes later is growling. Eating a popsicle. Only thing that seems to be working. I try to drink Protein in the morning and some at night. But I'm not getting the recommended amount in. Working on that

While I no longer get a period myself, I know someone who hadn't gotten one for a long time and then all of a sudden after surgery they started again and were irregular. They were told that it's from the change in your hormones and your body due to the surgery. Eventually your body will find its balance again.
Thanks! I was nervous. I goggled it and pretty much got the same thing

Question: I got my time of the month 4 days post op. Has anyone else experienced that? It's 2 weeks early.

So I have a question for all the veteran sleevers (if that's a word). After the weight loss have you had to get other surgeries like Tummy Tuck or skin removal??? Do you have really lose skin due to rapid weight loss?? Or do you think gym and toning was enough?

Just completed my endoscopy and my doctor told me I have a hiatal hernia. He said to not worry its normal. I guess we'll talk more about it at my appointment next week

@@Ageekygal yes I weaned off caffeine like 2 weeks prior to the pre op diet. I think my headache is just stemmed from me being hungry. Plus I get Migraines quite often. I drunk crystal light which is sugar free. I wonder if that contributed to the headache. It came in handy with the hunger. I'm going to try drinking more Water and see if that helps. Thanks

Day 2 into my pre op diet and I'm starving. Headache like crazy but what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. Going to bed, hunger is no joke!
