    Close to goal and stalled

I got closer to my goal when I upped ny calories and ate more carbs.
  2. Where the incision will be. Do they use drains. What is their recovery protocol.

    Dumping Syndrome?

I have had it once with Poutine , that was a combo of a bunch of things that aren't best for us. (Frenchfries, rich gravy, cheese & bacon. I was 4 months post op. It started out sweats then vomiting in a hurry. Once it was out of my system I was fine.

    How is everyone?

Had my sleeve done September 20 and I have reached my goal of 83 lbs lost. Had plastic surgery on April 20 for tummy tuck and breast lift. Now I am trying to maintain but I am still continuing to lose. It's weird to relax on what I am eating but still be losing. Hope I will plateau out now.

    Anniversary Trip

I would usually just eat off of what my husband ordered or order a healthy appetizer. Still tried to keep on the regular schedule that I have at home. Also brought along protein shakes for the week. Good luck
  6. I had the uterine ablation 5 years ago and haven't had a period yet. I had it at my top weight of 250 lbs what weight goal do you have to reach. Having 2 c-sections she said there was some risk but back up plan was a hysterectomy. I hope you are able to get it, it changed my life as much as the sleeve did. Can't even tell when I am ovulating now.

    Food after surgery

I am 9 months post op. I can eat anything but periodically eat something that just doesn't agree with me. It is a life style change and you won't be able to eat a whole pizza again or very large amounts. Was the best decision I ever made.

Am I eating not eating enough?!

Personally I find that that when I up my calorie intake I start to lose weight more quickly. Even now at 9 months and at my goal weight, with the doctor telling me to stop losing weight. With eating normally I am losing. I would up your calorie intake as it seems very low now. Even in full liquids I was taking in 500-600 calories. Good luck

    Taking NSAID's for back pain

I had plastics 7weeks ago and was offered NASIDs and when I asked the doctor she said they were fine as long as I wasn't tKing them long term. I did use them the first I would say 10 days without issues
  10. I actually found that when I got closer to my goal of a normal bmi I needed to up my food intake and I would start losing again.
  11. I am just over 8 months post VSG. I am lucky to not have had any complications. I was able to get to my goal weight. I chose to have a breast lift and tummy tuck at 7 months post sleeve which I know is early but the right choice. I am 6 weeks post plastic surgery and just had my follow up appointment, I laughed when she sternly told me to not lose anymore weight. I can honestly say I would never have thought that I would ever have heard that again in my life. I do notice that it has been a full life style change but I am glad that I do feel I live a regular life. I know that I am sure to have obstacles over the years to come and it could be easy to fall back into old habits but I am sure my new tummy will keep me in line. This forum has been a great support and I am glad to have found it.
  12. Yes. Funny it was hard to find a before picture as I always did my best to avoid pictures. The pictures are pre VSG and 3 weeks post tummy tuck and breast lift
  13. I am 3 weeks post op from a breast lift and tummy tuck. My recovery has been great with no complications. Today the doctor said I could wear spanx (compression garment). How do people make decisions on which one to use. I must say I tire and want to lay down quickly when I don't wear my binder. Quick tip for swelling I did take Bromelain and vitamin c and I really think it helped with the swelling and recovery.

    Bump on surgical scar

I just had a tummy tuck and on one of the biggest scars from my sleeve 7 months ago she said there was a small hernia under neath so if not painful it could be that.
  16. Just had my tummy tuck and breast lift this past Monday. I actually wore yoga pants home from the hospital. As for my top choose something that is easy to get into like a XML mans zipper hoodie. Recovery on the tummy as been good you just get bored laying around. I followed the suggestion of sleeping in a lazy boy and I had done quite a bit of food prep. Key is taking it easy which is harder than you think and listening to your surgeons instructions.
  17. Well today is the big day having a tummy tuck and breast lift. Wondering how others faired with the pain meds in conjunction with their sleeve. Post op instructions say to decrease water intake for the first 2 weeks which does concern me a little. Any good suggestions or hints to make the recovery a good and easy one.
  18. Well surgery went well . She said arnica was fine to take along with the Percocet and Advil. She limits water intake due to keeping down swelling as well as limiting the need to use bathroom so more bed rest. So far doing ok. All bandaged so don't see much. She said she took 4 lbs off my tummy area but otherwise all went well. Next 2 weeks just bed rest for me.
  19. Well today is the big day, I am 7 months post sleeve and at my goal weight, so having a tummy tuck and breast lift. I know some suggest to wait till over a year but my doc and I felt comfortable going ahead now. Wondering how others faired with the pain meds in conjunction with their sleeve. Post op instructions say to decrease water intake for the first 2 weeks which does concern me a little, but high on protein . Any good suggestions or hints to make the recovery a good and easy one. So far post sleeve everything has been great, no complications.
  20. I didn't see you say that your stomach reacted badly to the choice but your concern was more of a bad choice. I am 7 months post op and every 2 weeks have one slice of pizza . My tummy handles it well and I only make a choice like that once a week. To be honest once I increased my calorie intake to 1000 calories a day I was able to get pass a big stall. As long as you don't eat pizza every day you will be fine .

    Enough calories?

I am also 6 months post op and have actually found that since I upped my calories to 1000-1100 I have started to lose again after being in a stall for awhile. I do make sure I up my calories a little more on days that I work out.
  22. I am doing tummy tuck and breast lift 7 months post sleeve I am less then 5 lbs from goal weight. After consulting with the surgeon I adjusted what my goal weight should be. She felt that the goal weight I set for myself based on BMI was unhealthy and not be good for me so it may be worth the visit at a least 6 months post op.
  23. Happening all the time to me. I agree don't think I look much different and I guess I still see the same Person I was. Some have commented to my husband that they though he had a girl friend and were shocked that he would bring her to where we hang out. Others have just walked right pass me and only when they hear my voice recognize it is me.

    Goal and plastic

I recently did my plastics consult I am 6 months post sleeve and it was very helpful in setting a realistic goal. I thought that I should lose another 20 to be at my goal weight but she said that anymore than 10 and it wouldn't look as healthy. I looked at doing a tummy tuck and breast lift in Mexico, Miami, Cuba, but decided to do a consult back at home in Toronto and decided to do it there mainly for the follow up care. So I would suggest doing at least one consult you might be pleasantly surprised.
  25. I did blood work at 3 months and then will do it again at 6months . I was previously a diabetic so I normally do blood work normally every 3 months but the surgeon paper work also said every 3 months for a year
