    Back in the Game Again

Okay so I met someone I do really like and am attracted to. We've been on a couple dates and there is a great connection and some serious attraction. I'm not one to jump into bed super fast but if we keep going out its going to happen. I can't stop thinking about my loose skin. It's bothering me so so so much. For one this guy is really attractive and pretty fit. He has from what I can tell a super nice body. I feel so much more comfortable dating men with not so great bodies/ overweight and not that attractive. Of course the only really nice funny guy I've met in ages has to be attractive to boot. It's actually a negative to me which is crazy I know. I HATE my tummy skin and my neck. I'm disgusted by my stomach. And my butt. My body isn't firm. It's to the point I am actually thinking about not dating him because I can't bare to be naked. God I wish I could have plastic surgery already. I can put off sex with him for awhile but not for long and I just don't know how to deal with this. I'm afraid he will be either grossed out by my body and weirded out by how insecure I am. Want to cry.

    The Ex's

In my experiences exes become exes for good reason. You can't get it right the second time because the reasons are all still there. Going back with an ex is just settling. I say this because I've done it. To my own distress. Keep looking. Just keep dating. You're not doing anything to make guys not fall in love with you except maybe getting a little cynical in your attitude. I'm a firm believer in the fact that there are many fish in the sea and it's all about an optimistic look on love. It just takes one and the right timing and an open heart.

    LOSING TOO MUCH WEIGHT!

It took me a year to get from 240 to 118. After the first 4-5 months I only lost about 2 pounds per week. After about 7 months only 1 pound a week. At some point I stopped thinking about it that much and it just kept coming off. It's amazing how 1 steady pound adds up.

At the er with burning esophageal pain

Okay so I went to the er! It was that bad. So scary. They took and exray to make sure nothing large was lodged. My bariatric surgeon is in another town so there wasn't much the er could do. Once they made sure I wasn't choking they put me on a very strong proton inhibitor and carafate as well as a pain killer. I went home and went through one more night of the cramping but by morning it has mostly passed. I spoke with my surgeon and he said it was most likely a small bit of food lodged in my esophagus that was causing irritation and cramping as my body tried to pass it down. This was scary and I'm going to stay on the proton inhibitor for a while just in case.

    Hair loss

People can post whatever they want as much as they want. Be caring. This is the first time for everyone that's new!! I'm tired of some of the people on here with such bad attitudes. Your hair fell out and apparently so did you heart. Anyway. Hair falls out. It's sad but true. No everyone, but most. For me it was about month 6-10. Oh it was bad! Luckily I had very thick hair. Now it is thin but it's stopped falling out at last. I believe that Biotin can't hurt. But really.... There isn't much you can do. Just breathe. It will pass

    Loose Skin

I'm 35. I had a huge stomach before, and also two huge babies. My stomach has loose skin and a fold on the lower part. When I lean over it hangs pretty bad. My arms are normal with a tiny bit of softness, legs the same. My butt sags. I had a huge double chin before and now I have a little but of loose skin under my chin. I will have a 360 tummy tuck with butt lift and a chin lift. That's it. I don't reallllllllly even need those but I want to feel 100 percent great. The loose skin is minimal. My stats before were bmi 40 and now bmi 18.
  13. Oh Christopher I'm so sorry. It's understandable to grieve and cope that way. I'm proud of you for coming out it and finding a better path. Life is hard.
  14. If anything will make a person fat, it's milk. Why do you think we give it to newborn babies that then almost double in size within a month!!!actually it's not recommended for neborns to have while cow's milk for the first year. The Protein in it is much harder to digest than breast milk or formula. And babies od any species frow tremendously in their first few months Hahah. I meant human breast milk. Milk is extremely fattening.
  15. Yesterday morning I all of a sudden started having burning pain in my chest and esophagus and throat accompanied by spasms in my esophagus. It's been going on over 24 hours with no relief. It doesn't seem to be positional the way heartburn usually is. If I drink or eat it's very painful. I get about 1-2 minutes between spasms and then it burns really bad for several seconds. I feel like an ass being at the er but I don't know what else to do. I'm worried it could be something more severe It feels like a piece of food might be stuck in my esophagus. Like my esophagus is trying to pass it down. Has anyone experienced anything like this?? Help

  18. 100% dieting. I was put on my first diet at 11 by my mother. I was a normal weight and she put me on slim fast. It hurt my body image and destroyed my natural intuition about how much food to eat. By high school I had gained some weight from poor eating habits... That I then took off with a crash diet. Worked like a dream. By college I was anorexic. I figured out dieting was like therapy- I equated thinness and striving to be thin with happiness and self worth. Through college I constantly dieted and rebound binged. I had a cycle of dieting and binge eating for years that kept my weight average to chubby. I always felt fat. I eventually became bulimic in a desperate attempt to deal with my ever increasing binge episodes. I became pregnant by accident when I was bulimic. I was 150 pounds at 5'6. Pregnancy was the first time in my adult life I wasn't on a diet. I binged and binged and binged and gained 100 pounds in 9 months. I could not handle the emotional stress of not dieting. Plus I was emotionally starved by that point. Over the next five years I sought therapy for my issues. They told me not to diet again, that as long as I did I would gain rebound weight. The e planned it was a biological reaction to lowering calories. Whenever I didn't diet my weight remained stable, but if I ever did, I would regain everything I lost and then some. My marriage fell apart over my weight gain and depression over my body. My ex tortured me about my looks and inactivity and I ate even more to cope with that. Dieting caused weight gain but I also ate to cope. Ever since that first diet I felt deprived of food and it became a way to treat myself to something extra special. Food was never just food for me. It was my drug of choice. Why do we gain weight.... Emotional eating.. Dieting... The addictive nature of the American processed diet... Lack of nutrition... Inactivity that only gets worse as one gains... So many reasons. This surgery allowed me to step away from my emotional eating and have some peace with my food relationship. I find other ways to deal with things now.

Backpacking after WLS- How to prepare?

You're trying to lose weight and your body is burning it's fat for fuel right now. You should be in ketosis if your doing low carb. Your energy levels should remain fine without an increase in calories because your body has reserves of fat to use to fuel itself. Keep eating the same amount and go for the burn!!! It won't hurt you at all to have some days of a higher calorie usage. You may need to consider portable food however. At a month out this could be tricky.

    Loose Skin

I'd say use a great lotion, take your vitamins, workout, drink water. Your not that heavy so probably won't have much depending on your age.
