  1. It will get easier. Don't worry about having to get in all your Protein etc. it's tough in the first couple months. Just focus on fluids and getting your Vitamins. Part of the journey is to let go of that feeling we have to eat so much. Your body will be fine without a lot of food for awhile. Like my doctor told me when I started out, the point is to make it hard to eat!!

    Post-op lost 75 lbs

It's very hard to judge portion sizes and it takes time to get used to. For me this was a real problem and I've thrown up a ton over it. But I reached a point where I got really tired of throwing up al the time so I forced myself to sit with the feeling and just wait it out. Now I am a lot more careful about portion control because I know I'm going to have to deal with the outcome. For me the issue even skirted the line of becoming bulimic and I wasn't about to let that become my norm so I made sure I stopped throwing up at the least sign of discomfort. Now I order a to-go box with my meal and put anything over one cup of food in it right away, as my nut told me to do. Also if I overeat I dump super bad so that's another reason I won't do it. If I don't vomit I dump, so either way I'm miserable. That's enough to keep me honest. Don't let purging become a habit!

    Low heart rate?

How much weight have you lost? You can develop a low heart relate from extreme/ fast weight loss because your body will consume your heart muscle if it's not getting enough protein. My heart rate is 56 now because if this reason. I would discuss it with your surgeon.

    Travel for a living and?

Eating out can be really difficult in the beginning and long term. It can be tricky to explain portion sizes as you get thinner. There comes a point where if you say your on a diet people look at you like you're crazy. Traveling around Asia, one thing you know is that you can usually get soup.

    Dizziness upon standing

Yes, often. It's low blood pressure/ dehydration. Drink up!

    Travel for a living and?

I think ten days is enough recovery time. I just wish you could take some more time off for mental recovery and adjustment.
  9. Hahahaha. This thread is great. I've eaten tons of things not allowed. But I always make up for it later and it's had no effect on my weight loss. I eat bad things in portion controlled amounts. Until yesterday when I binged on Cookies. Damn the holidays!! And I drink sugar free red bulls. My NUT had a field day with that one.
  10. At first I didn't want anyone to know. Now I don't care. I'd rather people know because I've gone through a lot and I don't want the to think I'm just crazy!! plus I don't like lying to people when they ask me how I lost weight. And it's a part of my life now. But it's your choice. Don't feel like you have to share, it's totally up to you!! It's a private decision.

    Cheating

Oh, there has been plenty. Cookies, candy, fried food, wine... My nut says I'm eating too much sugar and too much fat. But at the same time I did this surgery to be happier and I think as long as I stay on course 90 percent of the time, a few indulgences here and there should be allowed. Life is too short!! And really it's made no difference in my weight because I always get back on track. The important thing is consistency and accountability.

    1 Year Anniversary

    You look wonderful!! And happy
  13. I'm at a low-ish weight for my height but I don't feel like it's too little. I also don't feel like it's the sleeve preventing me from gaining weight. I have to be careful or I could gain weight I think quite easily. It's not like the sleeve prevents me from eating so I keep losing weight.. It would be fairly easy for me to gain if I chose to. I'm guessing you asked this because you are afraid of ending up drastically underweight and unable to gain. I don't think that happens very often.

    Two years ago today.....

You look great and very fit. I'm envious of your peace about the food intake and hope I can get there in my year two. You're really doing this right. And I am sorry for your pain but also proud of you for staying away from negative coping behaviors. Sitting with emotions is so much harder.
  15. I think it is really likely you have let too much sugar get back into your diet and are having carb cravings and blood sugar issues. Go back to basics with low carb and see your nut.

    Fried Foods

Being so soon out you may have trouble. Tough one. I've done chicken wings before, they worked better than cheese sticks.

    MM's peanuts

The movies are a weak spot for me too. Candy doesn't fill up a sleeve and it's easy to overdo it. This is likely an old habit that but you in the butt. My advice, move on. And have a plan for the future. When I go to the movies I take a small bag of candy with me and share it with my kids. I find a few pieces satisfies me. I also take my lunch or dinner! A sandwich, buy a hot dog... I know I like to eat at the movies so I take the food I should be eating with me rather than going for movie theater food. I also do popcorn with a touch of butter. It's not that high calorie and you can have a lot for a little.

    What is your full signal?

My stomach will hurt and my nose starts to run. I'll hiccup as well. If I really tune in I'll realize the food has started to taste bad. I'll know from the tightness in my stomach and chest that if I take another bite I'll vomit. There is a "DO NOT PASS" line for sure.

You know you lost weight when

Not being recognized is pretty awesome. I love the look on people faces. It doesn't happen as much anymore but every once in awhile I run into someone I haven't seen for a year. and they crap their pants, stutter and totally freak out.
