5 months out...tortoise or the hare?

Tortoise. I am short, only 5'2". I have read short peeps lose slowly. I do like the fact I am not a bunch of baggy skin though. Overall slowly is ok for me as long as I continue losing....if I stop we might have a problem.
  2. Hi, I am just 2 months post op and am experiencing spotting almost 3-4x a week with cramping. I had an ablation several years ago so I do not usually bleed...ever. My doc really doesn't know what to think of it. Onto the achy bones...I take all my Vitamins and supplements. I drink my Protein and eat really well. I went through a a period of waking up hours before my alarm went off with tons of energy and now I am dragging myself out of bed every day. My body hurts, my bones ache and head/neck are sore all the time. I know this was a huge surgery and my body is adapting but any suggestions on adding supplements to combat this achy-ness? I have lost 28 lbs so far....down three sizes of pants/clothes. Thx! J
  3. I know I have read and even posted about the stalls...but I am becoming depressed. I lost 20ish pounds and even endured a 2nd week stall but I am going up on the scale these last few weeks. I am struggling with eating soft foods so I backed up and went back to runny, liquid and/or mushy foods. Doing better eating but still very depressed when looking at the weight itself. I walk several miles a day and eat my Protein...I also drink my Water. I am not eating any sugary foods, no sweets (can't with the sugar dump I get right away) and hardly any carbs. Last weds I weighed 179, this week I weigh 182 :-( I just want all these issues I am having to seem worthwhile. Eating difficulties, pain, small portions etc. TIA everyone...for letting me vent. J

    Stalling!

As I read your post, I looked to the left and saw your height and weight. I have found a ton of shorter women on here who have more difficulty with losing and in longer stalls.....myself included. Height 5'2", weight before surgery 200 even. Weight after at 30 days post op (today) 179. I'm doing everything right too, I walk at least 4 miles a day at work and stay as much on the diet as possible (I'm struggling with soft foods). Vent away...just know in all honesty, I feel healthier. I feel different. The weight WILL come off, just not as soon as I'd like. Instant results are desired although not a given. Hang in there.
  5. Hi, I was sleeved Sept 24th and am struggling with the soft food stage. I can eat cheese (string) with no problems, most Soups, oatmeal (but only about 2oz), small tiny bites of grilled chicken and potato (again 2oz). I cannot eat eggs, Peanut Butter or tuna. Both things I loved before but get sick immediately and vomit. I can eat some yogurts but some can cause instant nausea, depends on the day I guess. Milk in general is a no no. I can eat crackers if I let them dissolve in my mouth completely...they help with the salt craving and the texture craving. I am going to go back a couple steps and get back into soups and watery oatmeal for mornings. I get my Protein daily but only because I add my unflavored mix to everything I do eat. I do drink lots and lots of Water. I am getting tons of slime, even after eating even the things that I can handle so I am asking my doc about going back on Levsin to calm my tummy back down. My husband had the sleeve two years ago and can eat sugar with no problem. I can NOT eat sugar without an immediate dumping. I get nauseated, cramp, break out into a sweat and feel horrible. So I am checking labels like crazy now. Cheers to all you sleevers...it is a huge struggle to eat! J

    Love this Protein!

I really wish I had gotten this before I had the surgery because then I wouldn't have had minimal Protein intake and the gagging of the random milk based shake. MuscleGen GENEPRO Molecular Triprotein Peptide. It is odorless and tasteless although if you dip your finger in and taste it alone...there is some flavor but not unlikable. It mixes better than anything I have ever tried and it has 30G of protein in one small scoop!! I put a half scoop in my morning oatmeal, add another half at lunch into Soup or my cottage cheese, and another scoop between Snacks and dinner and there is my first 60 grams. I am even sneaking it into my kids foods, shhhh! Hockey Momma.

Day 14 Post op and weight stall?

@@*Lexie* I'm not exactly sure. When I assumed the stall started, I went up two pounds and now I'm back down 3.5 but it's taken over a week. I increased my water intake, lowered my sugar intake (I was eating regular popsicles bcuz that's all we had) and tried to make sure I was getting my daily protein. I go back to work this Monday, tomorrow. I do a lot of walking for my job and can easily cover 3 miles a day. I'm hoping the exercise coupled with my increased water intake helps. Hang in there. I did what other posters suggested too.....I took a few days off from weighing myself. It's so easy to get obsessed with it.

Day 14 Post op and weight stall?

Thanks everyone. I've been hovering around this board since my surgery and it's very reassuring to see what everyone else is going thru. I wasn't very high on the bmi chart(38) but I've got several co-morbidity factors, hence the surgery. I don't feel terribly bad but I'm struggling with insomnia last 3 nights too.
  9. Hi all. I'm 14 days post op today. I'm just starting the pureed stage today too. While I'm looking forward to texture, everything seems to make me feel nauseated after. I've lost over 10# but nothing lost last two days. Is this normal? I feel so down not seeing the scale move abd still experiencing pain and nausea. J~

    Height, Weight, And Size Poll

I'm 43, was a size 16, 201 lbs. I'm short at 5'1. I'm a different kind of sleeve patient because I wasn't very high on the bmi scale but I am borderline diabetic, have GERD terribly and insomnia due to weight.
  11. Hi all, I'm 3 days post op for my sleeve. Still on liquid diet and having a tremendous amount of pain. I had a hiatal hernia repaired also which contributes to my pain. I'm from MI and an in my 40's with the kids. Jen
