It's not to late to get back on track!! You can do it. I am almost three years post op and I have times I might put back on 5 pounds. My strategy is just nip it in the bud early. What works for me is to do a liquid diet of Protein Shakes for a day or two and then almost zero carbs until my regain is gone. It Usually comes off pretty quickly. You can do it!!

Adding a powdered marine collagen supplement to my Water everyday cut my Hair loss way down. I also added a cup of bamboo tea everyday which is high in silica and this helped with the dryness, breakage, and brittleness I was experiencing.

I completely understand how you feel!! I too am so grateful for my weight loss and the fact that I have maintained it (over two years post op).
I love myself and have a wonderful fulfilling life, yet I don't really like clothes shopping because nothing ever fits quite right and I have to look for things to disguise my "hump"- which is the name I have given my lower belly. It does get frustrating.
I have tried a million creams, oils, exercises and nothing makes a difference for me.
I feel like you, that I am not "finished" until I get my stomach fixed. Hoping next year to try and fund plastics- this year we had to have a new roof and our pool redone.
I think that part of the problem is I was normal size a good portion of my life and like you it's kind of a shock see our bodies look the way they do.
I know seeing a therapist would not help me. I don't have body issues or feel bad about myself. I just want my stomach gone. Hopefully we will both find a way to get our plastic surgery done!!

I am almost three years out and it can be challenging at times to maintain my weight. I gained about 10 pounds at Christmas- ate way too many sugar Cookies and cakes. I was struggling to get it off and a friend who also had Bariatric surgery told me about a website called Bariatric Eating. They have a face book page that you can join called no Bariatric regain. They sell Protein powders called Inspire. Their website talks about how to get back on track. It's four to five shakes a day and one Protein meal. I ordered their shakes and love love them!! I started doing the shakes all day and a protein dinner and the weight started coming off. It was easy to stick too once I got in the habit and kicked the carb cravings. I lost my ten pounds and another 10. I am 10 below my lowest weight.
You could check it out and see if it is something that might work for you. The Facebook page is private, but you can go to their website and get added. It is very supportive and there are so many people who have regained and are losing their regained weight. It's a very positive uplifting Facebook page.
Good luck to you- you can do it!!

I am almost three years post op and still occasionally drink Protein Shakes. I have tried so many brands and flavors. My all time favorite is called Inspire. They are extremely low carb and the flavors are tasty yet mild. They come in a powder, but are so easy to use I mix. Yon have even mix them in a shaker bottle with ease and no clumps.

I have to chime in.. I had the gastric sleeve and I have been very diligent about meeting and exceeding my Protein goals every day. I take all my recommend Vitamins, all my lab work post surgery has been perfect. I have taken high dose Biotin since pre op, make my Water requirements, track all my nutrients and adjust my diet to meet my goals. My hair has still fallen out. So not everyone will keep their hair just because they are eating enough protein.
I think it may be the luck of the draw. I just happen to be one of those with thinner hair who has followed all the rules.
That being said the weight loss has been worth the Hair loss.
    Good luck to everyone.

You can get back on track!! It's not easy, but you can do it. I am almost three years post op too and I have gained about 8 pounds "holiday" weight that I am working at getting off. It is hard to kick the carb habit, however, you have been so successful in the past that you got this. What helps me is I go back to Protein Shakes for a day and then do shakes all day and a high Protein meal. If I have to snack I get some protein snack that I like: Jerky, cheese, etc.
Hang in there you can do it!!

What works for me is I give myself a manicure. Can't eat with wet nails!! The upside is I have an amazing collection of great nail polish and fabulous looking nails. I change my color several times a week. Sometimes to change it up I will do a facial while watching tv. It makes me feel pampered and less likely to snack.< /p>

One of the Protein powders I like is the Inspire brand. They are powder and can be mixed in Water, milk, or almond milk, etc. 20 grams of protein, between 2-5 carbs and made from whey protein isolate. Lots of flavors.

I am two and half years post op and have been maintaining since about month 9. I agree with @MichiganChic. I could easily gain my weight back. I log all my food intake and I do have days/events where I choose to eat unhealthy (bring on those Christmas cookies). However, I watch my diet most days. I too have to eat very low calorie in order to lose any weight I may gain. I maintain on about 1000-1100 calories a day. To lose I have to keep it below 900.

I am 5'3" and my body just kind of found its own goal weight. I weigh 149-150. It's a few pounds over a normal BMI, but my waist ratio is normal (I have to get weighed and measured for my health insurance and they measured my waist and said I am in the normal range).
I wear a size medium top and size 6 in almost all pants. I am happy at this weight. Would eventually like to get plastics on my stomach and that would probably help. Overall I am content and consider myself at goal.

You have gotten a lot of good advice. I just want to send you a virtual hug!! I know from all your past posts and successes that you will find a way to overcome this obstacle too and conquer what you want in life. You are already so successful.
Don't worry about the food binge (not that you ate a lot of unhealthy things) I know you have been a goal for quite a while and one stress eating night won't derail you.
I know you will pick yourself up, shake this off and move on to the achievements you want!! I am rooting for you!

glitter eyes got a reaction from WhtWdUGive620 in When will the hair loss stop?!?!
My Hair loss started at about month six post op. All my lab work was normal. I had started taking Biotin prior to surgery. Always got my Protein in and still my hair fell out. I probably lost about 2/3 of my hair and what I had left was dry and brittle.
My weight loss stopped at around month 10 as I was at my goal weight. Even when my weight stabilized my hair fell out like crazy. Huge clumps in the shower and hair all over the bathroom floor.
I tried so many things: coconut oil, emu oil, essential oils, different shampoos, raw vegetable juicing to increase my nutrients and antioxidants, folic acid, scalp massage... The list went on.
What finally worked for me was I began taking liquid silica added to my Water once a day. That slowed the loss down considerably. My hair was still thin and brittle. About six weeks ago I began to take marine collagen powder added to my water and it has been my miracle cure. My hair loss has stopped and now it's shiny, soft, and growing back. Yippee!!
Even with the hair loss this surgery has been so worth it!!
    Good luck to you.
