Post op sucks!
I am calling this morning as I'm worried about the severe diarrhea I'm having past 2 days and now I have severe hunger thrown in the mix even tho yesterday I hit all my fluid and protein intake. Someone suggested to take antacids so will try that and see if hunger goes away, but I'm concerned over bathroom time right now

9 days post op and STARVING, why?
Typo. I am ON omeprazole

9 days post op and STARVING, why?
I am off. Omeprazole but haven't taken it in a couple days. That can make you feel hungry? Still hungry this morning. Also for other responses, I had the most protein, calories, and liquids of any day since surgery and the protein shakes were made with milk.

Cool trick!
Yeah great advice was to get a cup warmer or similar. I use mine everyday for my broth to keep it warm

9 days post op and STARVING, why?
So today I actually met my fluids goals and even over on protein goals . So I took in the most fluids and most protein since surgery, but since like 6 pm.tonight in have had bad hunger feelings. I had some more protein rich broth, then hungry again, then protein shake, then hungry again. So bad right now, had some jello, still won't go away. What's the deal? Only purpose of this surgery is to be able to eat a reduced amount of calories and not be hungry let alone a starving feeling. All I want to do is eat something right now.and of course can't. Up until this evening I hadn't been hungry since before surgery even on days I had less . Any ideas to why?

5 days post op, serious bathroom time...
Had normal type movements yesterday. Today many trips with bad diarrhea, nothing is staying in me. Also terrible hunger I think because of it. May call surgeon tomorrow of doesn't settle down

Does everyone else get the burning/searing pain
8 days post op and after a coughing fit the other day I have the most intense burning searing pain on my right side when I am in a sitting or bending the position like nursing the restroom. Becomes unbearable the pain. But if I recline back or lay down no pain at all once it settles down. I Googled it and looks like could be part of healing process from where they cut. Either way sucks

How many incisions (holes) did you have?
I think I am at 7. 4 across lower belly plus one for drain tube. Them one Hugh up center of chest just below breast center and one to the right of that covered in that glue mentioned above

Post op sucks!
Yeah I am 9 days post op and was doing better for a few days after a few days of hell and now the burning searing pain in my side I get when I am in certain positions us beyond my pan tolerance. Nausea has come back and struggling last 2 days to get my daily fluids on again. Gas pains went away for a couple days but returned yesterday. Bad diarrhea returned today. Today is a bad day again. Hoping more good days ahead soon. I've been living on protein enriched broth and strawberry protein shakes, very small amounts plus water and that's it and struggling to get 48 Oz of fluids in daily. Then thrown in the 5 supplements have to chew up a different times (calcium 3x and multi vitamin 2x) and it's hard to get down everything. No time to rest with all the feedings and sipping and mess and supplements all at different times and spacing. I need a day off

Any November Sleevers?
Yeah I feel like you. I was hoping in was one of many that didn't have many issues post op but the pain in my side is killing me. I was doing better a couple days ago but a spit bubble went down the wrong pipe the other day and caused a violent coughing fit which irritated my insides and made pain unbearable for last day or so. Little better this morning and same thing happened again so now pain even worse. Nausea had been better since got Zofran but as I type this its the absolute worst. Feel so I'll and everything's spinning. Which means of course I am way behind getting my fluids in. 7 days post op and not nota good day today

7 days post op......
Yesterday was first time I reached minimum of 48 Oz of fluids so that was a good step. Nausea is doing better, gas pains still here but getting better and the right side abdominal pain from surgery was doing better UNTIL...... Late last night I swallowed down wrong pipe and as you would suspect the violent coughing fit followed. Holy Pain Batman. I am back to the same level of pain I had the first day in hospital. Which is at or close to my pain threshold. I'm wondering if I may be tore something or just irritated the crap out of things in there. At minimum a few day set back on my abdominal pain recovery. Always something. Hope everyone's having a good day on their journeys.

5 days post op, serious bathroom time...
Wait is something wrong then since I probably use bathroom like 15 times a day? No solid stuff yet but I expected that being on straight liquids. But I do pass a little gas each time along with diarhea. Such frequently buns are a burning

5 days post op, gurgle coming up throat
Thanks all. Just makes it tough as when that's going on can't go anything down. 3 days home from hospital 3 days came in slightly under goal in protein and total fluids for day despite best efforts

4 days post op, trouble keeping fluids down..
Still can't even get water down tonight. Could it be cold fluids? I'm drinking ice water or was attempting such. I had no issues this morning with 4oz of cold strawberry protein drink nor warm chicken broth, nor ice water this morning. But I could not finish cold strawberry drink early this evening nor hardly any cold water for the past several hours. Was wondering if maybe the cold liquid. But is it something I can tolerate early in day but not later in day? Also Feely gut doing flips and quite audible, I can hear fluids sloshing around

4 days post op, trouble keeping fluids down..
Yeah. I was doing well today with fluids was ahead of goal pace and then hit a wall a few hours ago and I can't even get water down. Lille 2 ounces in part 3 hours. Everything wants to feel like it wants to come up. I even took a recommendation and made my sips smaller and slower but that hasn't worked.

5 days post op, serious bathroom time...
So is it normal that darn near every time I move or lay back in recliner I get doubled over is stomach gas pains and then I need to go to restroom where most time is a loose movement. Legs and back giving out from qty of times I have to be hunched over on the throne each time and so many times. Is this typical for the frequency as things start working back to normal? I can go for from a restroom

5 days post op, gurgle coming up throat
Question the gas/gurgle sounds that can hear coming up my throat especially after I drank something. Is this just part of new sleeve and gas or is it reflux? Feels like tiny bubbles and gurgle sounds traveling from lower throat to back of throat but gas doesn't escape.

Is this normal after surgery.....
I got Zofran disolvable tablets for nausea and liquid omeprazole for reflux. Though not sure if I can stomach the latter again. Was a thick nasty syrup that made me gag so we will see. Today was better on the whole. We will see what the night and morning bring as they have been the worst. Thanks for everyone's support. I hope everyone else is coming along as well

Protein pudding not tolerated
So last night I thought I would try sugar free jello unjury protein chocolate pudding.it how's as allowed in full liquid diet in the first 2 weeks post op. Big mistake. Made me feel Ill instantly and had uncomfortable gurgle gas sounds and feelings coming up my esophagus. This was after only a couple of half teaspoons of it. Still have some of that going on this morning. It was the first non liquid state item I have had. Anyone else have a problem with pudding early on?
