  1. Omg yes!!!!! I always had long awesome nails strong, now they peel and chip and break. I like my nails kinda long but now I can't even do that. Yesterday I cut them all. So I'm gonna be bald with short nails ???????????????? I still would do the surgery again if I had to tho.
  2. I want to try biotin but I know some of my coworkers have use it and hair grew where it wasn't supposed to. I'm afraid of trying it because I'm hairy as it is because of my overweight so I don't need more. Sigh ????????

    Ladies only

I got my period 3 days after my surgery and I still have it 3 months later. I saw my gyn yesterday and did some testing. So far she doesn't know if it's related to surgery but I also have a nexplanon as birth control. I don't know why I'm still bleeding ????????
  4. In this past month my hair is falling crazy!!!!! I'm 3.5 months post surgery and I'm taking my vitamins and protein.
  5. I've been very open about it because nobody slims down so fast without surgery specially being very overweight. To each his own but I'm happy and proud of saying it because I took a conscious decision and improved my life. Like I call my scars my battle wounds because at the end of the day it was a healthy decision and not vanity. I feel amazing and I'm happy to share my journey. It depends how close you are with your family but I've been very open with mine and they've all been very happy for me. I understand strangers but family is there to support you. And hiding that may cause unnecessary drama. That's my opinion.
  6. Thank you for that. Very nice. I've been very careful with my sleeve and follow doctors rules since day one. I'll be 3 months 4 days before Halloween. I've been awesome controlling my eating and I'm crazy scared of eating greasy or bad food. I don't drink a lot and I think I'll be ok with one drink. Haha even then I'm scared. I'm just super careful with my sleeve.
  7. Ok so I was sleeved August 4th and my doctor told me I had to wait 3 months before drinking. I usually go out with my coworkers after work and it's been a little frustrating not being able to drink. I'm not a big drinker but a social drink is always fun. How long you waited or what did your doctor recommended. Halloween is coming and I'm dressing up for the first time since I feel good

    Beverages

You're not supposed to have those anymore. Apart from the calories and how bad they are for you, the sleeve is against carbonated drinks.
  10. The sleeve is my new baby. Oh my god. Today I finally accepted the fact that I can't eat any type of bread. Every time I ate any type I would always get stuck and it would give me the worst pains! Whole wheat bread, pita bread you name it. I can't. So yeah. Please listen to your doctor and even tho you get tired try to stick to it. I was sleeves August 4th. Good luck

    Time between meals?

I have to eat every 3 hours. Breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner. That makes my day and that's what my NUT recommended. And cero calories liquids between meals. I always drink water tho. Not a juice fan.

    Why am I SO tired?!

That happened to me too. I was exhausted. So worried for when I had to start taking the subway when I came back home (surgery in Dominican Republic). I came a month after and the stairs still where horrible. I had surgery August 4th and today I did 50 minutes of exercise on a bike and treadmill. Stairs are a little hard still but I promise it gets better.

    Vegetables

I'm 6 weeks out and I'm surprised you can't have vegetables. My nutritionist gave me a list of vegetables I have to eat as long as they're cooked. Spinach, zucchini, carrots, Brussels sprouts, onion, eggplants. Those are a few. Ask your doctor. I'm supposed to have half a cup of vegetables twice a day. Reading here I'm realizing my diet is very different than everyone else's. I had the surgery in Dominican Republic. I spent one month on liquids and now I'm on soft foods. Lost 40 pounds since August 4th.

    Pureed Stage One Week Early

I had my surgery August 4th and I spent the entire 4 weeks after just with liquid. I was full all the time and couldn't finish the Gatorade I needed. After the first month I started with soft foods and that's were I'm at. I was never hungry, I'm still never hungry so I wonder how you guys feel hungry. I have to remind myself to eat every 3 hours.
