So upset- bad apt with surgeon
Since your surgeon is a real piece of work, I suggest you find a specialist. If your primary doctor is just a regular physician, it would be a good idea to look into having an internal medicine specialist be your primary doctor. Regular phyiscians are just "bandaid" doctors, take vitals, give prescriptions and referrals. An internal medicine doctor education is more with the internal workings of the organs and they will be more of help. I am sorry that your surgeon is not being helpful. If he feels that his work is "done" and is not being cooperative, this is a classic sign of a physician who may not have the best practices in mind. A good surgeon will listen to your complaints and if he/she feels that it is out of their scope, then they would at least suggest which specialty doctor you may want to look into. They are surgeons, so their studies are deep and know the internal workings of the body. So I think it is BS and just tossed you to the PCP. Classic. Internal Medicine Specialty doctors are the best primary care physicians you can have. Like a one stop shop. Keep that in mind.

Understanding something
2 miles may be the expectation but you will not get there right away. Exercising is free. If u have a community-based pool, swim or do exercises in the Water. If you have a park, take your headphones and go for peaceful walks. If you have dogs, go for longer or frequent walks. Etc. But once u do the surgery and the weight starts coming off you will feel better. And that my friend will give u more chances to burn the fat. You will do just fine.

One day post op sudden pain
Lol. seriously...after my 2 farts, i felt "reborn"! Then you just deal with the discomfort of the insicions. Will feel like you did incredible situps. Thousands of them. Then the real journey begins. Learning to eat and nursing your new tummy.

Mashed potatoes stuck on sleeve
Why would you eat mashed taters so early in the game? It doesn't have the protein you need.

Day 2 post op awful pain! What have I done
When you say sharp pain in the chest, is it during you drinking water? Or like heart related? You should feel like u did massive situps with some pain because they did take out a piece of your organ. The regret part is normal, i said the same thing. Give it a few days and both pain and regrets will subside.

Bipolar Rant!
@@Elode dang it! lol I hope it gets better. At what rate do we lose weight after 4 wks? Is it like 1 or 2 lbs a week? Any examples?

Bipolar Rant!
Today was my first day at work after being off 4 wks from surgery/recovery. Everyone gave me such compliments, telling me that I looked good and I look healthy, etc, etc. This morning I went to put on a pair of pants for work. (I have been in tshirts and sweats for the past 4 wks)...the pants fell off of me. Not even a belt would have helped because they looked like parachute pants. So I managed to find something and rolled up the waist line and hide it with a long blouse. Here is my rant- I went to Ross to try to find some pants or dresses. First I didn't find pants that were good for work. Then I hit the dresses. I could not figure out what size I was. I assume I was 22w. With a close to 40lb weight loss, you would think I would have dropped a few sizes. But noooooooooooooooo, only one. I tried on a dress in 20w, 18w, heck I even went for the 1x instead of 2x. The only one that fit was 20w. So only one dress size down. As I was trying the dresses, I looked at myself in the mirror. I almost broke in tears. I still see lumps and I still see my humongous thighs. I was so unhappy. I just ended up getting that one dress and drove home in a pout. I hope that this is not it. I hope that it continues to go down, because I would really like to get the heck out of the plus size racks. Feeling like a failure ........this was my bipolar rant. It was a good and bad day.

4 wks post op
4th week....greek yogurt from light and fit, red seedless grapes, shaved deli meat ham and turkey. Saltines(2 will do it),cracker pretzels because it has no yeast so it won't get stuck, moist scramble eggs, soups, chicken-no noodle, bean soup, pasta fagioli without the pasta, ham salad from publix, protein bars, sugar free ice cream. I make sure i meet protein of 60grams and stay under sugar before giving myself a treat. Oh yeah, i managed 2 wings very slowly. Increasing the calorie intake has broken the 3 week stall.

Do you miss anything about being fat?
My strength. My weight helped me bust a door down to see why my mom wasn't picking up her phone after asking for help. It was the beginning of dementia for her.

Help with protein
Have you tried "Oh yeah" Protein powder? It is high in protein and the flavor is excellent. The vanilla creme tastes like a melted mcdonald's sundae. I have not had the chocolate but I can assume that it would taste just as good. The Protein Bars that they make are excellent as well. One in particular - chocolate caramel protein bar- taste like a goodbar to me. It goes down pretty easy and these are high in protein as well. You may want to check with your local Vitamin store or you may order it online. Sometimes the vitamin stores have samples. I am not sure if the company itself is willing to give examples but it would be a great idea since there is so much competition out there. The products look like this: or Hope this helps!

Sad
Thank you. Yes, I have been dealing with this for 7.5 years (the dementia part) and before then, the relationship between me and my mother has always been an emotional disturbing one. I was the escape goat for all her despair in life. Even for things that happened before I was born. I truly feel that due to my type of relationship with her, it led me down the wrong path. Which on top of everything else, I got blamed for. I love her, she is all I know. She taught me to be the strong woman I am today. However, she cannot hurt me anymore, just wish she could see that I finally lost some weight in hopes that she would find a way to be proud of me. Thank you for reading and commenting. It helps to hear from other people. xoxo

Thank you, it is good to read what you said. It has been hard. I think I finally realized all my eating issues revolved on my relationship with my mom. But no more. No more. It is my time.

Protein
1. Milk and Protein powder (using milk instead of Water gives you more protein) 2. Greek yogurt 3. Cottage cheese 4. Make icecream popcicles with your Protein Powder 5. pureed Beans 6.Puree chicken and put in chicken broth 7. Gnaw on Protein Bars If your surgery is recent, you will have trouble meeting calorie, protein and water intake. Just work on it and every week it gets better as your body heals internally.

Protein Ideas? HELP! 2 weeks post
You need to get the right Protein shake that you can tolerate. Believe me, I went through the same thing. See if you can find the Protein Shake called "oh yeah". It is high in protein and taste like a melted mcdonald's sunday. That should hold you for a while. Their Protein Bars are pretty good too. It looks like this.

Sad
Sad. All my life, my mother complained about my weight. I was often critized, warned, put through the ringer about how I looked. It was a battle with mom all my life. I went to see my mom at the nursing home first time yesterday since I had the surgery 20 days ago. She has dementia. I asked her slowly if she noticed I lost weight? She just stared straight ahead , had no clue what I was talking about. I don't know if she knew who I was. I hugged her and I so wish she could see me now 39lbs less. She would be so proud of me. So happy. Sooooo "i told you so". God, I wish mom had a moment of clarity and would see me and be happy for me at least for a few seconds. That would mean so much to me. But as she stared straight ahead, all I can do is hug her and shed tears looking the other way so she doesn't see it. Not that it mattered, she wouldn't know what tears are or why. Dementia sucks.

Chewable calcium is HORRIBLE
Try this, it is a walmart and it is taste like vanilla candy. It goes down easy, once you chew on it , it starts breaking up easy like a very soft starburst.
