  2. @@VGB I hear you girl, I HEAR YOU!! Clothes empowerment! lol
  3. @@MichiganChic I know what you mean about feeling like a fraud. lol I just never put it into words.
  4. I had no choice. Because of the type of job I do, I had to dress up nicely. I couldn't find anything nice and "modern" anywhere else. Regular stores have plus sizes, but my God, the kind of clothes they had was like grandma-ish or just looked like tableclothes to me. So Lane Bryant saved me for years and just in the recent year so did "The Avenue". The one place I refuse to shop at was "The Dress Barn". I draw the line to have to walk into a store called "Barn". I mean REALLY? I think realization kicked in when I found myself ordering from Lane Bryant.com and getting my clothes in the mail because I was just so ashamed of walking in there and knowing I had to get the next size up. I was so in denial. So yes, I can't wait till I call in and say thank you but no thank you! For once in a LONG TIME I would like to walk into a normal store and be able to grab a shirt and know it will fit.
  5. I can't wait till i can close my lane bryant credit card because i no longer need to shop there!
  6. I can't wait till i get to eat meat! I have not had solid foods since the 29th. That is 19 days!!! Ugh. I now know what they mean by head hunger. Stomach not hungry but your eyes and mind wants everything. Can't wait till i get to the point i can eat like a chipmunk and be satisfied. ????
  7. Yeah he was very strict with the pre-op diet, liquids only. Now i see that i was able to go yo stage 3 on my second day home?? I did find that harsh. Not being able to do it makes me feel like a failure. But i think i am going to stick to just liquid stuff for a while until i think the tummy is more repaired. Thanks for cheering me on. I come here to vent i can't help it. But i left the house today and walked in 2 stores. Which is good. I know i have to walk more.
  8. Good i am not the only one. Lol
  9. I am on my 4th day post op diet and am struggling with eating. I am supposed to be on pureed food. I find everything so unappealing. I can only eat half an egg in the morning. I have had about a teaspoon and half of deviled ham. lunch i tried homemade pureed Soup and gagged. So i got baby oatmeal Cereal and added Protein powder. Thank goodness i bought the liquid Protein to add to Water called liquacel. I hope this gets better. Lost my appetite completely. I am starting to wonder...what did i do to myself?! ????
  10. Yes. My dietician gave me recipes too for them.
  11. It seems i was really miserable at the hospital. The morning shift nurse would only come in to give me a shot or take vitals. Didn't ask how i was doing, if i needed something, did i need to pee...nothing. She was a young girl, possible fresh out of school , nothing but giggles. Not once checked on my incisions. The night nurse was older and more experienced. Classic nurse. I really felt abandon with the morning one. I would call to get help to get up to pee. I had a bunch of cords tangled on me plus my legs had that pumping thing to keep blood flowing. I was tied up all over. I called for nurse and 20 min went by and nothing. So i got pist, probably hurt myself making force i shouldn't have, yanking the plugs off the wall so i can go pee. I had a bad experience at the hospital. Really. Feel so good to be home,
  12. How about post op diarrhea? Anyone experience that? I don't mean to be gross, but i cannot trust a fart. Literally!
  13. @JamieLogical- Yeah my surgeon left the drain the entire two days I was in the hospital. There wasn't a whole lot to drain, but I guess it is precaution. I noticed the same things as you did. All surgeons have such different protocol. You really just don't know what is the "standard" thing to do. I guess the best advice is to follow your doctor's orders. The pain is more tolerable today. After I got rid of the gas, it was more manageable. The gas is was hurts the most I think. For people to say they didn't have any gas, it is beyond me. They must have got rid of it before they noticed. Because the fact is, they do pump you up with Co2 to do surgery. Some may get rid of their gas faster than others. Apparently mine lingered 2 days until I finally passed gas. (sorry sounds gross, but it was the happiest moment at the time). I haven't taken any more pain meds as it is tolerable. It feels like a lot of muscle pain, I do need help getting up as I am not superwoman. Maybe I don't have high tolerance of pain? But I do need help getting out of the recliner chair for now. As days go by, I am sure it will get better. I may piss off some people here with my way of speaking and I don't mean too. But I am irritable and hurting and I do speak my mind. I am very realistic. To have 85% of your stomach removed is considered major surgery and yes there is pain. I don't think it is normal to come out of the hospital doing jumping jacks and saying no pain whatsoever.. Who knows, I may be wrong, and so be it. But that is how I feel. I am trying really hard to get liquids down, as I was told, because of normal inflammation in the stomach because it has to heal, the size of the stomach right now is the size of a pen. It will stretch and get bigger as it heals. So, when I am trying to put liquids down I am careful, cause I can feel it backing up in my throat. I had like 3 teaspoons of scrambled eggs this morning and that is all I could do with out getting sick. I have to work on it slowly. @bewell- yes you will feel stinging around the incisions, specially the one that they took the stomach out through. Mine is on the top left side. When I stand up, I have trouble stretching and standing straight up because of the muscle pain. But practice will make that go away I am sure. The organs will feel like it is cramping up, it does to me. But that will also subside. Give it 2 more days, it should get better....keep in touch any time, we are in this together. Specially if you did it around the same time I did. We can compare. P.S. As for coffee, the bottom line is, coffee has no nutritional value. So why fill up your tummy with something not worth it to your body?
  14. Sorry about the typos, i am on my phone
  15. Unlesd they took it out before you noticed. But it is a little bottle that hangs from a tube. That tube is on you stomach muscle draining any kind of blood, liquid or puss that may be left in the stomach from surgery. It is t o leave it squeeky clean i guess, so mo infections occur.
  16. Well i have to say i passed gas twice and has put a big relief on my tummy. I was only able to he down half cupb of broth all day
  17. Right before surgery they asked of i had a tampon. You can't go in the operating room with anything but your naked self.
  18. I guess people who had more fat than muscle has less pain? Because what is hurting is all of my abdominal muscles. They even go into spasms.
  19. Whoever came on here and said that the surgery is no painful post, is not human. This shit hurts. I just come from being discharged. The act of taking out the drain bag was the most painful thing ever. Every time you try to get up, the pain reminds you what has been done to you. The car ride? Speechless. It does hurt. All of it. I even was wondering what the hell did i get myself into.
  20. That is the least of your problems when recuperating. But yes you get one. Mine barely has any leakage. Today is my second day post op.
  21. Pre make home made hamburgers, you know those are best and healthiest
  22. "Oh yeah" brand from iss research.
  23. With more reason to have surgery. Your bac pains could be from the weight your carrying. I had a similar issue but not so severe. At bmi 50, your definitely a candidate and most likely you have other issues that would be relieved with weightloss surgery. Go to your primary to discuss. If you have open access insurance meaning no referrals required...i would go straight to a specialized surgeon for bariatrics for a consultation. Not sure about that 400.00 upfront. What is that about exactly?
