  1. The insurance company isn't going to approve you until you have gone through the process required for approval. Eligible means your insurance covers it and you meet the basic criteria.
  2. Awww????thank you????
  3. How has you dating life changed since surgery? I'm single (pretty much always have been) and I'm not loving it! Part of the reason is my own insecurity mostly about my weight. Did you have that problem? Has dating changed for you since being sleeved? How?
  4. I always said I wanted to get back into my HS prom dress (size 16: it was beautiful and perfect for my church's anniversary banquet) but I think my mom gave it away But I'm gonna try to find one when I get my surgery date and be in it by April (I pray)
  5. I've had people try to talk me out of it. I've only told a few family members and close friends that I'm doing it. When I suggest they do the research and then tell me why they feel I shouldn't have it they usually have nothing more to say. Also I make it very clear to them that they have NO IDEA what it's like to be overweight most of your life. That usually shits them up too. But this is with my loved ones. In my opinion, you gave her too much communication about it lol! After the first time you said no that should have been it. When she messaged you again she should have been blocked! Lol!!! That's just me ????
  6. What's funny to me is that I haven't been sleeved yet but because I made the choice to go through with it and I am actually taking the steps to get it done, I feel like I'm putting more of a spotlight on myself. I rarely finish anything I start (except food ????????) but I've decided I'm worth more than that. So I totally understand what you are saying. It makes perfect sense. Lack of love for self is what got a lot of us to this point. Self love will get you to goal! God bless!!
  7. I'm almost done all if my requirements to get my insurance approval and a date. I'm hoping for January. This forum has shown me a lot. You get to see this journey from all sides. The good the bad abs the ugly. I think....I know you will absolutely find it useful. It will provoke questions for you to ask your surgical team as well. God bless you on your journey!!
  8. Collagen is not the first ingredient, water is. But the second ingredient is "Complete protein matrix" which includes collagen protein isolate as part of it's blend of proteins.
  9. Thank you! That sounds like a winner!! I'm leery of powdered protein because the texture gets weird abs I don't like the flavors. I will try that one though. I think the ones I have now may be okay for my 4 week pre op diet but I'll run it by my NUT to be sure.
  10. I have not had my surgery yet but I am in the phase where my nut wants me to try out some Protein drinks. I can't find her list of suggestions but if have fallen in love with the Atkins Cafe caramel and cafe mocha latte shakes but they have real coffee in them so I don't think k I'll be able to drink those post-op ???? I wanted to know what Protein Drinks you all prefer for post op. And has anyone tried New whey liquid Protein? I got it at Walmart but I haven't tried it yet because I may take it back. It's 42g per 3.8 oz tube.
  11. Atkins has protein shakes that I love that are made with real coffee. Is that going to be a no no once I've had my surgery??
  12. Whooooo !! Look at you!!! Great job!!
  13. That's not too bad! I'm not sleeved yet. I have one more Nut appt until they send everything in for insurance approval. My bmi is 58 so we are all pretty sure I'll get approval. I'm hoping to have it in January ???????? in the meantime I am looking for a water aerobics class close by to start now.
  14. How long before you were cleared to get back in the pool?
  15. Thrift store!! Or sometimes churches have coat drives around this time of year. You can probably call around and see if any of them are doing a giveaway and get a free one.
  16. Has anybody ever tried water aerobics? Is that something you can do soon after surgery?
  17. Congratulations on your loss!! That's awesome!!!
  18. on my bucket list.....skinny jeans!!! lol! I just want to be able to wear all the cute trendy stuff! And I would like to travel more. I want a redo of the cruise I went on this year so that I can be able to walk the whole ship without feeling like I'm going to die! I want to be able to wear a normal swimsuit and not a swim dress (although mine was cute lol) and a 2 piece would be AESOME!! And I want to take my baby to an amusement park and/or Water park and be able to keep up with his 3 year old energy!
  19. LOL!!! Lucky you! Even when I was younger and MUCH smaller I couldn't see when I smiled hard or laughed! lol!!!!!!! My eyes look closed in all my childhood pics lol
  20. I can't wait to get on an airplane and NOT NEED A DAMN SEATBELT EXTENDER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So mbarrassing...I also can't wait to post pics o FB and If they schedule my surgery for end of January which I'm praying they do, I can't wait until a friend whom I don't see often gets married because she's gonna faint when she sees me!!!!
  21. About 5 years ago my PCP gave me a referral to see a surgeon and a nutritionist to start the process for gastric bypass. I was so afraid and focused hard on all the what if's that I backed out in the middle of my nutrition appointment. I don't regret making the decision not to have GB then because I feel like now I'm really ready to have the surgery (and because VSG is less scary than GB). But my "why" now is my 3 year old son and my 4 year old nice and the new niece or nephew coming in June. I want to continue to be around to watch them grow up and, God willing, to watch them make their own families. While we should make this decision FIRST for ourselves, our families make a he impact on the choice we make. Going through a rough patch trying to change for the better is better than dying early from something you could have prevented. God bless!
  22. Sooooo...what if I have an IUD? Should I keep it or have it taken out or will it matter? Yeah! That's crazy!!!
  23. But there's so much truth to this joke though lol and smh.
  24. Amazeballs!!!! Go girl!!! I can't wait to have my surgery I'm totally inspired and motivated by your journey!!
