  1. It wasn't. It's coming! But validate yourself for now. You see and feel the difference. And at the end of the day this journey is about you. Giving yourself more love, more credit for taking back your health. At some point those around you will see what you already see.
  2. Did you not need it or not want it? Sometimes I don't want to be noticed. Sometimes I just want to fade into the background. I wasn't like that when I was younger/smaller. I loved the attention then. Not so much not at almost 300 pounds.
  3. That's awesome! Idk how much they will want me to lose but I'm going all in!
  4. I agree. I'm afraid I may have the same problem. You live do long feeling one way because if your weight then it all changes but your mind hasn't caught up. Good luck on your journey!
  5. I've not had a boyfriend in....since I was....ummm....12 years old. I'm 32 ???? so I look forward to an actual dating life! I look forward to enjoying shopping again. I look forward to wearing my stilettos again!!! Oh how I miss performing and singing in church in my stilettos!!! People are starting to look at me crazy because I don't wear them anymore. Smh!
  6. Congratulations!!????????(that's my happy dance for you????)
  7. I think I'm gonna start Monday just for me. I have my last appointment with the NUT on Thursday. She may not put me on it until after that but I want to try it without so much pressure first.
  8. @@BeagleLover I am healthy but I understand what you mean about more self compassion. It's an off and on thing for me. Sometimes in very confident then sometimes I'm beating myself up for allowing it to get this bad. But I am taking the steps to fix it.
  9. That's how I felt when I looked in the mirrors (3 of them...all angles) and looked at those pictures! I never felt like I was as big as I really am.
  10. I am on vacation with my family and I was giving my son a bath in this gigantic jacuzzi that is surrounded my mirrors when I got a real good look T myself. ???? Later I was going through my mom's camera when I came to pics if me singing at my aunt and uncle's birthday party ???? It is NOT a good look AT ALL!!!! So, when it was time to eat that massive Thanksgiving meal I helped prepare, I put half of what I normally would eat on my plate and I didn't eat all of that. Who knew all these yeArs I wasn't really hungry....just greedy ???????? I am so excited about this surgery! And I can't wait for my date!!
  11. If you're going to do it at home consistently then go for it! Put the money you would spend on a membership and gas on a set of weights....or just work out with some gallon water jugs! Kettle bells are good for home too. But whatever is best for you and whatever you are actually going to do, do that!
  12. I will be eating. I'm praying this will be my last meal before I go on the pre-op diet. I have my last appointments next week!! So excited!!!!
  13. My mom is all for it. My dad is never really sick and can't stand the thought of any of us having surgery. Especially not by choice. He had issues when I had a c section. Plus I'm kind of daddy's girl (at 32 ????)
  14. I have your same issues. Obese, knee pain (Dx osteoarthritis) and asthma since I was a little little girl. Ultimate you have to make the decision for yourself. I choose VSG because I'm not up for re routing my intestines and I'd rather no foreign bodies be placed on my stomach. Like you said it's less invasive. If snacking is your issue then maybe before you decide, you should take steps to minimize your snacking. Eating habits don't change overnight so while you go through the process start cutting out things one at a time. As you go through your day, when you would normally have a snack drink a bottle of Water instead. Start to ask yourself if you're really hungry or are you eating because you're bored. I have not been sleeved yet but these are things I ask myself before I go eat something just because it's there or because I'm not doing anything else. Blessings on your journey!
  15. So today my mom tells me that my dad is afraid to have the surgery. He won't tell me because he knows I'm gonna do what I feel is best for me. He's never been one to tell me how he really feels about things because he respects my ability to make my own decision. Has anyone ever had this problem? What do you say to someone who cares so much about you and will support you no matter what to help them know that it's gonna be fine? I think he's afraid because we know some people who had bypass and had a lot of problems after....almost died kind of problems.
  16. I'm so hoping they will do this for me. we should be ready to submit all of my paperwork to the insurance company next Friday. ???????????? An early January date would be great but a late December date would be the perfect way to bring in the new year!!!
  17. But aren't you supposed to keep your meal consumption at 30 minutes??? So if you can only take a bite every 10 you get 3 bites....is that enough for you at this point??
  18. Congrats on your success! I'm so gonna ask for a pic of my stomach so I can put it on my fridge (it's just me and my 3 year old at some so no one will be grossed out ????)
