elgible = Approved?

Is being eligible for the service of gastric sleeve, the same as being approved? I got a call from my surgeon's office letting me know I was approved for surgery, and now just need to complete their requirements (pulmonlogist visit) before I can get a date. I recieved a letter copied to me, that my surgeon recieved from the insurance company saying I was eligible for the services. Was just focused on that word "approved" so was wondering if that meant the same thing! ha ha.

Typically yes you are approved. My guess is the insurance company used the word eligible because there are some things that need to be completed before you can get a surgery date.

I work in insurance and I wouldn't accept that as approved.

Approved is approved

Eligible means I have coverage, service coverage is available, and maybe I can get approved

I would get something else from your carrier. Specifically a phone call, someone's name and employee id

Log the time and date of call

I think they're hedging their bets and won't give final approval until all program requirements are met.

The insurance company isn't going to approve you until you have gone through the process required for approval. Eligible means your insurance covers it and you meet the basic criteria.

      I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

      Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
      Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

      Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
