  1. I FINALLY got my date! February 10 is the day! I'm so excited!!! I start my 4 WEEK pre-op diet on 13 January!
  2. I used to promote products by itworks global and they have a product called defining gel. I was on pinterest the other day and saw a pin where a lady who had WLS used the defining gel (and their wraps) and that helped her not have as much saggy skin. She was an older woman, maybe close to 60. I plan to go back to using those products post op as well. The products are not really for weight loss but promote tightening, timing and firming.
  3. @@Elode lol!! What's a JP drain??
  4. I know I probably shouldn't compare but I'm wondering if anyone can tell me what the recovery and pain is like in comparison to a c section?
  5. Where are you located? I applied for an expedited passport in April for a cruise and I got it in about 6 business days but it can take up to 2 weeks. Just to cover yourself I would suggest getting another birth certifications but I think you'll be ok.
  6. Have you tried the PB2 chocolate? Tastes like Reece cup!
  7. An expedited passport should take no more than 2 weeks if you're not in a remote location where mail takes forever. I'm in DC and got mine in about 6 business days.
  8. I was told by the surgeon anywhere from 2-6 weeks but that depends on if there ate complications. But I have a friend who had her surgery on Wednesday and way back to work by monday. As for people at work, to include your boss and HR department, it's not their right to know what type of surgery you are having. If you don't want to lie ( though its not a bad idea for people who are pushy lol) simply tell them it's personal.
  9. Does the sugar hurt less? I tried waxing my legs once and I got one little patch off and grabbed a razor to finish. Lol I will probably shave (or veet) everything and get my hair braided or something so I don't have to bother with it after.
  10. @@skinnygirlwithin Your Aunt and my Grandmother would be great friends! lol! No filter!
  11. Your examples are a world away from going to a friend and saying "you're fat" or "you've gained weight" or even "dang last year you were so fat, you look great now" those are not things I want my friends to say to me and they won't! But if my hair color is a mess or my clothes don't fit properly.....I can take that. But I struggle with my weight just like all of us here and to point it out is offensive
  12. My good FRIENDS would NEVER call me fat! Just like I wouldn't say anything like that to them. Suggesting we go for a walk, yes, suggesting we go to the gym together, yes! But flat out calling me fat...NEVER. If that's your relationship with your friends then great for you but that's not normal in everybody's life
  13. She put a disclaimer on her post that she wasn't calling anyone here an ass. But I think that it is merely a matter of opinion. No one is allowed to call me fat. True or not it's offensive. It's like calling a gay man a fag. Some people don't care about it and to them it's just a word but to some it's an offensive word. I'm 5 feet tall, being short doesn't bother me so being called shorty or whatever doesn't offend me. But on the other hand being fat does bother me so for someone to put emphasis on that is rude and offensive. If it doesn't bother you that's fine but just like I can't make you understand how I feel and you can't make someone else understand how you feel.
  14. Congratulations!! This is great to know to give me a little more motivation for my surgery. I'm so ready to start this journey!
  15. Thanks everybody! I am sooooooo happy and looking forward to a real New Year, New Me moment!!
  16. @@Beni, that's amazing! I took my niece and my son to the zoo this summer and when my brother asked me to take them I about died! I already knew it was going to be a problem for me and we didn't even get through the whole zoo! I look forward to feeling better so I can really enjoy that with my son!
  17. The ortho surgeon said I was not a candidate for surgery. Apparently it's not that bad yet. That's why I am so anxious t have VSG.
  18. Yesterday I got a call from the case worker at my surgeon's office saying that my insurance company approved me for surgery!!!!! I didn't even know that they had submitted it. This means the decision came back in less than a week!!! I haven't gotten my date yet though. Because of the holiday I may not hear from the scheduler for about a week. She was on vacation and is now playing catch up.
  19. @@JCP Were you diagnosed with osteoarthritis? I was, left knee only, I'm wondering if it actually goes away. The ortho surgeon said there was no need for surgery and I want it to stay that way!
  20. Can you eat actual baby food during this phase? Like the natural ones in the jar?
  21. Hey! It really sucks that they lied to you! I'm sorry to hear that. No, as far as I know, it has not been submitted to insurance yet. The case worker is pretty good with sending me emails with updates. The last one I received was that the surgeon has gotten the chart to approve. He has to approve it before it's sent to the insurance company. I got that on 22 Dec. I expect that it will be sent to the insurance company next week. I should get an answer about 15 days after that.
