  1. So I lost 23 pounds the first 2 weeks post op. The my cycle came and I gained 5 pounds. Then lost 3 and I've been stalled for a month! I saw my surgeon yesterday and he looked at my fitness pal diary and said I'm doing all the right things. It's so frustrating!! But he also said that the people who lose big up front usually stall pretty quickly and some people just lose gradually and don't stall for a few months. The only thing keeping me from going completely crazy is that some of my clothes are now falling off of me. I have gone down one size!! And my face seems to look slimmer....But I pray this stall is over soon! If you lost a lot early on, did you stall fast and long?

    A loss, a gain, a loss and a STALL ????

Thank you! I'm doing the elliptical for 10 minutes three times a day. I hate this thing but it's what I have so onward and downward! ????

    NSV for tonight

Tonight for the first time in a long time, I went to the club. I went with my God brother and his wife (I call her my sister) and I had an awesome time! For the first time in at least 10 years I didn't feel like the fat ass outcast. I'm not sure if it's the little boost of confidence I have since the surgery or the awesomeness of the people I was with. I think it may have been both because I went on a cruise with some of these people about a year ago and I didn't feel the same then. I'm grateful for them and for the surgery! Tonight confirms that I'm surrounded by supportive friends who love unconditionally AND that I did the right thing for me having this surgery. God is so awesome and I am eternally grateful!!

February Sleevers - how are you doing?

DOS 2/10. HW 298; SW 289; CW 257. I was down to 253 but, according to my surgeon, I wasn't getting enough calories. So now I'm forcing myself to get in 1000 cals a day but it's hard and I end up eating things I shouldn't just to get there. I think I'm going to focus less on getting there an more on better food choices. I did start working out yesterday. I plan to do every other day until I get the stamina for every day.
  5. Went to see my surgeon today and I've gained 2 pounds. No biggie, I'm on my cycle, right? No, I'm not eating enough calories..... :( I'm able to get up to about 650 but I need 1000!! Maybe now that I can eat regular foods again, I will get there.

When that happened to me at 400 calories, my surgeon actually suggested to "graze" to get the calories up. (This is not something you want to do later on)

So I did. every hour I was munching on something (healthy with calories) and down it went.

Plus, let me add, that I have found right before my cycle I lose a couple of pounds which makes me think wow, that means I will weigh even less when the period is over. NO, when the period is over, I gained the 2 I thought I lost plus 2 more. Then about 3-4 days it goes back down. The weirdest thing.

  6. I think I need a belt....are they cheaper than a smaller size pants?? :)

  8. After a severe case of constapation and a stall that I believe to be a side effect of being literally full of.....you know.....I've decided to go back to the begenning of mostly liquids until I see my surgeon next week. I'm in some pain from all the hours of pushing and straining (tmi...sorry) plus a night of coughing and vomiting up all the nothing on my stomach. I just pray nothing inside is messed up or leaking! In the meantime, Protein OD, here I come!!

    Being put under

I have been under twice. The first time was for my c section and I only remember they put a tube JP my nose and told me to count backward. The ceiling was shit and it looked like an all white kalidescope (sp?). Lol For the sleeve the anesthesiologist told me he put something in my iv to relax me and I would get something to put me to sleep when I got into the OR.....I was out long before that. I felt a little high like I had laughing gas or something. Then I woke up in recovery.
  13. Your coworkers needs to have several seats! Voluntarily going under anesthesia and the knife and then going from eating/drinkingwhat you want to newborn/infant stages of eating is in NO way the east way out. Doing absolutely nothing is the easy way out....but that would end in death! We choose to live and the steps it takes to do that aren't easy!

    Bruising Post Surgery

I have like 4 bruises on my ARM from the hep shots. I also have bruised where they tried and failed to draw blood. The bruises where the 3 IVs were put in just went away.

this is dumb but my biggest question is...

To me its more annoying than anything only because you have to watch the clock.

    Hot Yoga

Just curious to know if anyone has tried hot yoga and if it helped with the saggy skin any? I have been wanting to try it (I'm not the most coordinated though). Someone stopped me on the street one day and told me about it. She actually apologized before she started talking because she wanted to respectfully tell me how it helped her with her weight problem. I wish I would have gotten her number so I could pick her brain about it. Since I didn't, I would like to know your experiences with it

    Hot Yoga

The lady did tell me it wasn't easy and when she started she was about my size (at the time I was 298). I have to get up the nerve....and find a partner because I'm not going alone lol!
  18. How realistic is it to want to be in the infamous onderland by my birthday....19 April??

It would be better to set a goal that you can control, like an exercise challenge or something. Although you are in charge of what you eat, your body is in charge of your weight loss rate. Some people lose slower than others and they are perfectly on track. It's very individual. We all can get to the same place, but not necessarily at the same time.

For example, I am 5 ft; 2 in. my Sw - 223, Had sugery on 01/29/2015. I now weight 195 as of this morning. Not impossible at all, but like the other guys said all results may vary depending on the individual.

Me too, my in-laws were in town. Every lunch and dinner at a restaurant. Ugh! Give yourself enough time to recover tho. Internal swelling they say is up to 6 weeks post-op! :)

I'm having my protein now and I'm going to exercise in a little bit.

  20. laurenella82

    Already?

My weight hasn't changed in almost a week. Could I be in a stall already??? :(
  21. laurenella82

You know you lost weight when

My sister-friend called me "soggy bottom girl" because my jeans are too big.

    Tricare and abdomnioplasty

I used to work for the military medical system. Tricare doesn't cover plastics unless its medically necessary and that is hard to prove. I had an officer friend have it done and she had a lot of other issues that went along with it like pain and excess scar tissue. It took her almost a year to get approved.
  23. I'm about 17 days post op and I already see a difference in my shoe size. Pre op I was in an 11. The one pair of "heels" (they are actually 5.5" wegdes) that was comfortable for me to wear to church are an 11 and they are now flopping off my feet. My 10's are officially back in action....but they are a little looser than I remember too. Some of it could be that I'm no longer retaining Fluid like I used to but I'll take it! It's hard as hell to find cute shoes in an 11!
  24. laurenella82

    Already?

Thanks Ms. Kathy! I am going to pay extra close attention to my measurements and how my clothes fit. So far, if I only focus in that, I'm extremely happy! Happy to be wearing baggy jeans out tonight....who would have thought lol!
