Nervous- getting sleeved in 3 days
Be excited! I was never nervous so I have no advice to give of how to overcome the nerves. I will say I have NO regrets.

Honestly, what is everyone eating 1-3 yrs post op
I stick with high protein/low carb. I allow treats on the weekends and holidays. It's a lifestyle change. I don't want to fall back into old habits.

Ability to drink alcohol post-op, your experiences?
Nothing carbonated but liquor is fine. Vodka and water with a slight lime twist is almost carb free. I was drinking 3 weeks after my surgery...in moderation

Stomach Stretched?
My surgeon got on my case because I admitted that I had stopped measuring my food. He states the eye/portion relationship was not habit yet. He had me go back to weighing the portions to ensure no overeating. I know for sure my stomach can hold more now, but it still doesn't take much.

When other guys are complimenting on the way you look...not in a gay way either. I don't know if that's PC to use word gay that way, but nothing bad meant by it.

Should I get the sleeve
The numbers/statistics are easy to get. I encourage anyone interested to research all to make their decision. I am 6'2" and was 441 before my gastric sleeve surgery. I had no problems. I have no regrets. I've lost weight relatively quickly (133lbs in 5 months) and still going. My quality of life continues to get better. I didn't realize how bad I felt before because I didn't have any health issues...but Wow, I was missing out and didn't know it.

My Journey
Welcome! Congrats on your surgery plan.

What are some NSV's you're looking foward to?
Being able to ride all roller coasters (at Busch Gardens). Buy clothes in the regular men's section, not big and tall. Not worrying about table or BOOTH. Not being recognized at first glance by extended family.

Any sleeved golfers?
I too was told no golf for six weeks after surgery.

Cravings ,,, So sick of liquid diet
I drank strained hearty soups. It gave me a variety of flavors. Examples are chicken vegetable, beef vegetable, French onion. Once strained they have the clear liquid consistency. It isn't as thick as the protein shakes I was supposed to be drinking. Also sugar free jello counted as a liquid too. It was a great treat. Sugar free Popsicles were good too.

Depression
Congrats on weight loss! I suggest a regular and semi vigorous exercise routine. The endorphins released will hep counteract depression. It also gives you another feeling of accomplishment.
