Does Everyone Get a "Drain"
I had one but it wasn't needed. It was the weirdest feeling when the pulled it out too. Not really pain, but plain weird.

How many incisions (holes) did you have?
I had 5. Surgery was on June 25. No scars either...I couldn't find them now if I tried. It's awesome!

Congrats! Welcome to your new, improved life.

What do you order when you go out to eat with your family?
Quick answer...take as long to eat our small portions as it does for everyone else to eat thei large portion. When I go to those type restaurants I order just a chicken Brest or similar. At Mexican I may order a chicken taco salad and eat just the chicken and cheese. Most restaurant are okay with special ordering like that.

Half way there.....what keeps you motivated?
One question....I've been on the site for a while...what is "onederland"?

Here we go....Surgery in 2 days.
Congrats to the two of you with the recent surgery. Glad to hear all went well. Welcome to the good life! You will understand one you are six weeks out and over the limitations of variety. You will still have to stick to the protein, but relearning what a full meal is will be great. Stay excited and positive.

Truly don't know what to do
Don't panic. Change your frame of min...easier said than done. It will get better, but enjoy the aversion to food right now. Greek Yogurt is a good alternative tool, especially Danon Light and Fit Greek. It may help you through the rough time. It gets better for sure. Your taste does change though. I enjoy different food one than before. You will learn this as you progress. Don't despair!

Does anyone else hate the way they feel after they eat
I'm not sure if you are complaining...haha! I take the feeling as a blessings and good "problem". It's part of making your body relearn what is acceptable. Once you get your head in that game you will be well on your way to the new lifestyle we all signed up for.

Sleeved a year ago and stopped losing...need advice!
First ask your surgeon or nutritionist. Maybe try a reboot of the liquid diet for a week with protein shakes, water, and broth. As always make sure you are drinking the recommended amount of water. Maintaining low hydration will certainly stifle weight loss.

Half way there.....what keeps you motivated?
Every compliment I get motivates me. Staying active on this site helps too. Reading the success stories are great. The failure stories solidifies my commitment not to be "that person". I have nothing against the people who have given up, I'm just learning from their mistakes.

100 Lbs Lost !
Congrats! There is definitely something special about the 100 lbs mark!

Week 6 check in 40 lbs gone
It's my understanding that if you don't get enough protein you can have some nutrition problems. One of the side effects is extreme hair loss. Just ask your surgeon the why's...I'm sure he could break it down for you. Besides protein is a good source of energy for your body. It's way better than carbs.

Protein
That was supposed to say good protein bars, not goo...lol
-
Protein
Animal protiens are best if you have any leeway in your choices. Also, Greek Yogurt has a variety of flavored. Dannon Light and Fit is low in carbs too. It helps with any desire you may have for fruit too. You can also get goo protein bars (whey protein). Again make sure they are low in sugar. Sugar alcohol as a sweetener is okay in the bars. Atkins and other some other brands are good.

Holiday Challenge!
I'm in...I want to be under 300 by the new year.

United Health
I have United Healthcare. I believe what it does depends on how your employer options it out. I can't tell you how many times I heard how great my insurance was. They didn't require almost any of then prerequisites. They were very good to deal with...and fast. I hit my max out of pocket of 5k but it was all smooth. They even sent me a refund check when I over paid.

How to deal with fat friends
Bring her along for the ride...lead by example. My 2 cents only. I have no fat friends. I've been the only one. I am only guessing about these posts and what it must be like. My friends are supportive. My "fat" coworkers /employees are inspired. it's "fat" family that can be difficult for me. They are supportive but don't adjust their poor nutritional habits when I'm around. It can be difficult. I just shake my head sometimes and think that used to be me.

Holiday Challenge!
I broke down and ate a couple pieces of Halloween candy....what a let down..that is the end of that. I love that it was not a pleasure anymore!

How to deal with fat friends
Wow! Some of you are dealing with a lot of drama during what should be a happy time. I am sorry to hear about these.

How to deal with fat friends
I've been very transparent about it. I'm hiding nothing. It's amazing the number of people that are making the same decision I did based on my experience with the sleeve. I believe if I tried to not be transparent it would be a lie of omission. I'm not ashamed...don't be. I'm picking up you may have a little guilt not being up front. In the end it's your decision. I find honesty is the best policy!
