  8. Hello, This is my first post since surgery. I was sleeved on 1/7/15. I am doing well, had a little bout of constipation today, but that has resolved for now. I lost 35 plus pounds pre-op and am now down 51lbs. I am very excited. I can't wait to add to my current food regimen. i miss chewing. I have a great support system. This forum has been such a good resource for me, thanks to all of you that post!!
  9. Thank you for the encouragement...I really appreciate it!
  10. I am so nervous! I start my clear liquid diet tomorrow and surgery on the 7th. Don't get me wrong, I have no doubts, just nerves!!
  11. I had to have a sleep study, but everyone in our program did. I was told it was an indicator for the surgery. The surgeon also told me if we have sleep apnea its something helpful for them to know before going under anesthesia. I do have apnea and am on my c-pap machine. I am not required to use it for a certain amount of time prior to surgery, it has not cause me any complications as far as my procedure is concerned. This is my experience with the whole thing!

  13. Hello, I am sending prayers to you and all on here who's surgery date is approaching. I should have my date this week. I am nervous and don't have a date yet, so I can imagine how nervous you are. You will do great!
  14. Hello, I had a hard time when I first started losing the weight. I finally started dropping when I ate only meat and veggies. I did have the occasional mini bagel for Breakfast, but that was rare. I drink only Water or lemon water. I have lost 30#, and have not had my surgery yet. I am looking at early January. I also started walking, not far at first, but built up the distance slowly. My recovery after surgery is my motivation. I am hoping that having lost weight prior will help me after surgery! You can do it!! Take small steps eliminate one item at the time. One day stop fast food, the next soda, the next fried foods. This is what has worked for me. Good luck!!
  15. Hello, I have done the couch to 5k a couple of times, I really like it. I don't complete the whole thing because I eventually get to the point where I just want to run and see how far I can get without stopping. I just did a 5k on Thanksgiving day!! I ran the whole thing for the first time ever! I think its a great app!

  19. I just created my profile, but have been visiting and reading your stories for about 4 months! I am getting so excited and nervous! I am looking at Gastric Sleeve Surgery in early January. ( I could do it in December, but I need to visit my mother, who is in very poor health). I started this journey on August 14. I had a long checklist that I had to get through, and some things really slowed the process down. I have to say that this site lifted my spirits time after time and kept me on course. I have been overweight my whole life of course, I have lost and gained weight more times than I can count. I lost 80# at one time, I know I can lose, I just can't keep it off. My mom and dad are sick...all the scary stuff, they have it. Stroke, diabetes, high blood pressure, coronary artery disease, heart disease and both are now in renal failure on dialysis. Its a poor quality of life. I know is my future, if I don't do something. I am in my 40's and have two boys, six years old and eleven. I need to be here for a long time and I don't want to just be here, I need to be healthy. Since August 14 I have lost 27lbs on my own. I am hoping starting to lose now will help me have a smooth recovery. I feel that this is it, I am making a life long change. I want to thank you all for sharing your stories...you all are my motivation and inspiration!!
