  1. The bike worked wonders for me. Good luck.
  2. I am almost 6 months out and I get hunger pains. I don't eat enough so I know that's why. I am working on this though. For years, I over ate and would tell myself "not eat so much" or to "stop eating so much". Now... I tell myself "you have to eat'. "You are not eating enough". Ugh! It's been an adjustment.
  3. Luv it! Thanks for sharing!
  4. @@Fatdiva14, my experience with Dr. Rickford has been amazing. I don't have any complaints or issues. Never had to wait long to him. Always got answers to any questions I had. We had a rough time stabilizing my blood pressure when I first came home from the hospital. His team were very responsive. My husband was in constant contact with his team after hours and over the weekend. Feel free to reach out to me with any questions. Good luck.
  5. @@proudgrammy, you made me smile.
  6. I am doing pretty good today. The scale is not moving like I want it to but I feel good and I think I look good so.... forget the scale.
  7. Good morning. How is everyone feeling today?
  8. As I was walking down the hall at work at little while ago, one of my co-workders said "You are getting too small". I have never, ever in my life heard those words, as they apply to me, before. Even though I don't agree, I am still trying to process those words.....
  9. I had my surgery at Providence Hospital. Dr. Marc Rickford was the surgeon.
  10. I had to step away from the scale because I was driving myself crazy. Seriously! I try to focus on the clothes now. I try to only get on it every few weeks.
  11. One thing for sure about this whole process, your true friends and true enemies will be revealed.
  12. Let me start by saying, you don't owe an explanation to anyone. No one at all. At first, I didn't tell anyone but my immediate family and a few close friends. 1) because I consider myself to be a very private person and 2) I didn't want to hear all of the negativity and everything that comes with it. Over the last few months, I have told more people depending on who they are. If someone comes right out and asks, I will tell them. I think a lot of people assume even if they don't ask. Losing 50, 60 or 70 pounds in a matter of a few months is a big indicator for a lot of people. Some just respect your choice enough not to ask. Not everyone though. When I do tell people my journey, I also tell them I made the decision to "save my life". That is pretty much my standard response. Good luck with whatever you decide.
  13. Sending prayers up for you! Please keep us updated. *hugs*
  14. Protein! Protein! Protein! Hope it helps.
  15. Have you considered making dinner time your family talk time. Cutting the tv off but talking about your day, upcoming events, school, work, etc. Eating with the tv on is a good distraction for me. It helps me to slow down and take my time. I usually take a bite, put my folk down and watch tv. Take another bite, put my folk down and watch tv.
  16. Honestly, it's a mindset. Until you have made up your mind to workout, no excuses, it will be very hard to be successful. Having the mindset and getting there is 90% of the battle. The working out part is easy. Find something you like and start there. Good luck to you.
  17. My job gave me 6 weeks but doctor said I could go back after 3 weeks If I wanted to. I didn't want to so I took the whole 6. Glad I did too.
  18. Thank you all for your comments and encouraging words. I really appreciate them. Thanks for the book recommendation Livvsmum. I am going to purchase it.
  19. I am sort of upset and disappointed with myself. After years and years of struggling with horrible events and things in my life, some where along the line, I stopped loving myself. All of those things caused me not to shut down and not love "Me". Why did it take me losing 50 pounds for me to start loving myself again? Don't get me wrong. I love the changes and look forward to more to come but I am upset and disappointed in myself for not thinking I was worthy of my own love when I was 50 pounds heavier. I don't even know if this makes sense. Sorry. Just venting.
  20. I wasn't feeling that at all! LOL!
