After reading this thread it gave me the motivation to clean out my dresser and get rid of all the old things. Going shopping this weekend. Going to get me some matching panites and bra's. After reading JENNA's post thought maybe she had hit on why I have bad days. (need matching)

I went to seminar that Dr. Schmit in Birmingham. His price was 14,000. But I decided to go with Dr. Rumbaut in Mexico. Not because of the price difference but becasue Dr. Rumbaut has so much more experience. Dr. Schmit will do yours with a bmi 0f 36. But I do not believe your insurance will cover it.

Glad you asked this. I have not had a pb or vomiting. I had my first fill 9-21-05. I have 9.75 inamed band. If I understand right it will only hold 4cc. I got 2cc at my fill. I can eat anything, (bread, pasta, rice) haven't tryed steak yet. I only eat about 1/3 of what I would have ate before the band. I don't want to have a pb, but was wondering since I can eat all of this stuff if I should go back and get more of a fill.

Thats so great. I made my first goal yesterday on the scale. I called my husband in to the bathroom so he could read the scale for me, I thought I was seeing things.

Plastic Surgery - Who's had it? ...
nickie456 replied to Parvathi's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi Parvathi, Comparing lap band to lipo, I would give lap band 1 and lipo 10. I had a lot of brusing from the lipo. It took me about a month to feel better after lipo. The tummy tuck was healed up in about 10 days. I would do the tummy tuck again but I would never go thru the lipo. -
Plastic Surgery - Who's had it? ...

I had a tummy tuck and lipo ten years ago, the tummy tuck did not hurt if you compare it to lipo. lipo really hurt bad. My tummy tuck scar is very low, I could wear a bikini. But that was ten years ago and now I've put on 100lbs. -
Thanks Zoe, this really helped.

I had heard that if you smoke you might not heal as fast as you should. But I could not stop smoking so I was scared. I had no problems with healing. I think you will be fine.

I wish I hadn't told anyone I was getting the band
nickie456 posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
If I could back up time I would not tell anyone. I think everyone in my town knows I have the band. I feel so much stress. you would not believe it, seems like everytime I walk out my door someone is asking well how much weight have you lost. The phone rings and its someone wanting to know how much weight I have lost. The worst thing of all is I've lost 25lbs in less than five weeks have no fill yet and they look at me like I haven't lost enough. Because they know so little about the band they think I should be losing like I had the gastric bypass. Please be smart and don't tell anyone. -

I wish I hadn't told anyone I was getting the band

Thanks for all your help. I am very proud of the 25lbs that I have lost. I personaly only told my husband, my two kids and my best friend. But I didn't tell them not to say anything, so they all told someone and that someone told someone else and around the world it went. I do understand some of you that said you don't care who knows and some of you say that you tell everyone. But I do not handle pressure well at all. I do feel like everyone is watching me to see what and how much I eat. I guess what I'm trying to say is when your deciding to tell or not to tell consider whether there going to give you support or pressure and to make sure if you do tell someone that they know whether you want them to keep it a secret or not.
