  1. So far the 5 day pouch test is good. I am on day 3 which is soft protein. I've had 1 boiled egg and for lunch I made up 6 ounces of tuna with 1 boiled egg and some light mayo. I ate about 1/2 of it and I am eating the rest now. I really feel like it has helped. I lost 1.6 after the 1st 2 days.
  2. Wow! That is restriction. I could eat more than that the day of surgery. Be very careful when you start on solids. Good luck!
  3. My doc says to eat mushies after a fill and only do liquids if the mushies are a problem. I've always been able to eat mushies without a problems the day of the fill. That being said it always best to follow your doc's instructions. He knows more about your situation than we do. Good luck!
  4. I am staying on plan today because I am doing the 5 Day Pouch Test this week and because I want to keep losing.
  5. I turned 40 on May 9. I went to Vegas to celebrate. I say live it up. The big birthdays can be fun but it is up to us. I love any reason to party! Of course, the fact that I weigh 52 pounds less than I did when I turned 39 made it much better.
  6. Robin, That is great. Congratulations! I am getting close to the 2/3 mark. I am at 61.8%. I love my band.
  7. I survived day 2. I am down 1.6 pounds after the first 2 days. It is nice to be back to solid food today. I had a boiled egg for Breakfast and I will have tuna for lunch. I brought another boiled egg to have as a snack later if I need it. How is everyone else doing?
  8. I think this is working. I haven't been as hungry today and I've had a lot less to drink so far. It is so nice to feel in control again.
  9. Hi Cindy, I love my trainer. I work out with him 2 days a week. I try to do cardio on my own but I am not getting enough in. I walk my dog and that is about it. I can't seem to make myself go to the gym unless I am meeting the trainer. Maybe I will try water aerobics. I will check the gym schedule and see when they offer it.
  10. Hey everybody, How was day 1? It wasn't bad for me. I got hungry a couple of times but I would eat some SF pudding or have a Protein shake and I that would satisify me. I lost 1 pound yesterday. I was thrilled to see that and suprised because my sodium intake was very high thanks to the soup. Yesterday I ate/drank: 3 Protein shakes tomato soup 1 SF pudding cup 1 SF Jello cup Starbucks tall Skinny Carmel Machiatto Hot and sour soup (made from a packet I bought at the store) 64 ounces Water I felt great yesterday too. I made sure that I got in all my calories because my body refuses to lose weight if I don't eat enough. It was nice to not be in pain while eating. Of course, the pain is never bad and only lasts for the first few bites but it was still nice not to have to deal with that. It was also nice not to obsess over what I was going to eat. I had very little to choose from and that made it easy. I hope everyone had a great day 1!
  11. You sound just like me. I feel the same way. I also have the APS band. I have 4.5 cc's.
  12. My trainer took measurements last week and the results were great! I lost a total of 13 inches in just over 2 months. I am so excited. It makes the hard work worth it. During that time I also lost 13 pounds. My lean body mass slightly increased and my fat decreased considerably. My overall fat % dropped 5%. It is so nice to see results other than scale, especially since the scale has slowed down so much.
  13. I had a blast! It it times like this that reality sets in and you realize that it is up to us and not the band. There is always something to learn with this band. Of course, I've always known it is up to me to make good choices but after the initial weight loss it becomes much harder. I used to be able to eat almost anything and still lose but now I have to really plan and make smart choices. I think I need a fill but I am going to see how the 5 day pouch test works and then make my decision. I hate being too tight. I've been able to lose without a lot of restriction which has been great because I haven't had any PB episodes. I am so scared of that first PB.
  14. Cindy, I don't think there is a specific carb target but I think we are supposed to go for low carb Protein drinks. I am using
  15. I hope we hear from him soon. I am starting to get worried.
  16. I am still struggling to get off the weight I gained in Vegas. I am still up 1 pound but I am going to do the 5 Day Pouch Test this test and I am hoping it will help get me back on track. I can still meet my goal so I am going to try very hard.
  17. Shalee, I am glad you are going to do it too. We can support each other this week if it gets tough. Cristal - That is great to hear. I hope it helps me too.
  18. Surgical Weight Loss 5 Day Pouch Test Has anyone tried the 5 day pouch test? I am going to do it this week. I have been making bad choices and need to get back to basics. I think this will help.
  19. My favorite is a tall non-fat carmel machiatto. I don't really care for the sugar free syrup. I only go to Starbucks once or month if that often.
  20. when you actually save money at the grocery store even though the prices continue to go up.
  21. I've had 3 fills and I've been banded 6 months. I have a 10 cc band. The 1st fill was 3.5 cc's and the 2nd and 3rd fills were each .5 cc's bringing me to 4.5 cc's. The last fill was in January and I've been good since. I do believe that I need a small fill now and will be scheduling that very soon.
  22. when your 18 pound Cockapoo eats more than you.
  23. when the first thing out of someone's mouth you haven't seen in a while is "So, how much have you lost?"
  24. when your mother invites you to dinner and lists each item on the menu and asks "Can you eat that" after reading after each item.
