not a weird non-scale victory but a huge non-scale victory nonetheless

i fit in airplane seats :D
i’ve been STRESSING about this upcoming trip cuz i couldn’t afford first class seats or to buy the seat next to me and ive never fit in plane seats before. i kept googling ‘can size 16 fit in plane seats’ and i measured the seat width on my couch and sat between two boxes of the seat width but none of that eased my extreme anxiety that i wouldn’t fit in the seat. :(

but i fit :D and i didn’t even need a seatbelt extender - another first!

i’m on the plane right now flying over southern oregon and i’m so endlessly relieved that the only thing i was worried about was completely a nonissue 😊❤️

momof4intexas reacted to EverLearning in IUGR diagnosis post VSG. Any advise?
It is your placenta. IF you have IUGR and high blood pressure it is your placenta that is the weak link. Keep your diet healthy, she will take all she needs from you and leave you drained of nutrients if your diet is poor. You won't notice for years - but that is what pregnancies do to us if we don't take care of ourselves.
It sounds like you are on the "better in or out" point for her and if she is better off and better able to grow outside - accept it and know you did the best you could but she chose her birth date. Keep up with the ultrasounds and blood flow, placenta's have a short life span as an organ - they are amazing - but when they go bad, get old and calcify, the baby just can't keep growing at the rate they would like. Trust your team and take her sooner than later as if they are watching blood flow that is concerning.
Any labor and delivery nurse will tell you post term placentas generally give the worst heart tracings in labor because there is no reserve for the baby to make it through the contractions so you end up putting mom on oxygen and everyone gets more stressed out because the baby is.
You can do nothing about your placenta, nothing you did in the past caused this, nothing you do now can change it or direct the outcome. Follow the advice of your OB team and plan on a little gal who will probably come early and be skinny. But remember skinny doesn't matter in the organ development - it is gestational age. Any you already have that covered by how far along you are now. She has the maturity she needs.
Good luck in your next few weeks!

momof4intexas got a reaction from ceyonce16 in Post Partum after High Risk Pregnancy w/Gastric Sleeve
Your experience really resonates with me. I was also shocked to find out I was pregnant, 18 mos post VSG.
I noticed I didn't have near the restriction that I did before my pregnancy. I gained 40lbs during my pregnancy and spent 4 mos on very strict bedrest / combination hospital bedrest. Watching the numbers go up instead of down really messed with my head. After giving birth 1/16/15, I lost 25 lbs in the first few weeks. But since then I have managed to gain 10lbs back.
It's hard work! I stress about eating to little and messing up my milk supply. I also worry if I work out too much I could hurt my supply.
So I've decided to go back to basics. I'm doing 3 shakes a day just to increase my calories and Protein consumption. I'm eating lots of veggies and healthy fats. I'm working out 5 days a week, 2 hours each.
I sure hope to see results in the coming weeks. In my opinion it's trial and error. Just figuring out what works best for your body.
I found a gym where they are amazing with my baby and my toddler. I can view them at all times in a CC TV. Honestly, with 4 kids it's the only me time I get.
Can you find a different gym where you feel comfortable leaving your sweet baby girl? I attached a pic of my little Vivian. ????
Are you on MFP? I'd love to be friends and support each other!

This surprise pregnancy happened at 17 mos post sleeve.
I was a very high BMI sleeve patient so even thou I've lost 140lbs I have about 40 - 55 to get to goal.
I really wish I had gotten to goal as it's so hard watching the scale go up instead of down. I'm 25 weeks and up 8lbs. My OB is ok if I hold steady or if I gain. I'm hoping not to gain more then another 5 - 7 lbs total. That way after delivery I should be at my lowest weight...

I'm nursing my 13 week old baby and I also get extremely hungry at times. I just try to focus on healthy Snacks. I eat half an avocado daily, cashews, coconut oil, etc. I also make sure to hit my Protein goals. As long as your choices are healthy, I don't think you will gain by eating more.

momof4intexas got a reaction from Inner Surfer Girl in Pregnant-does OB have to know about WLS?
My own sister doesn't know I've had WLS. But all my Dr's do.
I think it's important that your OB know so they can make sure baby is getting everything it needs to grow.
My OB has been awesome! He knows I can't eat 2000 calories a day unless I ate all processed crap food. He is ok with my lower calories and feels like my healthy food choices are great for baby. He is also doing a modified gestational diabetes test for me as I wouldn't be able to tolerate the glucose drink.
I haven't needed to see a specialist or anything else because of my WLS. I'm 25 weeks and baby is doing great! She is right on target growth wise and I'm up 8 lbs. My goal is to only gain another 5 - 7 until delivery. Again my OB is fine with this.
Good luck!! When are you due?
