  1. I told people it was female stuff. people usually leave that alone. if they don't, I just say then, it's private.
  2. I'm not telling most people because I don't want to deal with other people's crap. I have enough to deal with on my own. I lost 96 pounds pre-surgery, and people thought that was great. since then, my eating has changed radically, as I was eating lots of veggies and olive oil and lean meats. now I'm eating very little in the veggies, as most of my meal is Protein and small. I've told people I am changing up my diet and using confusion to keep from stalling. I've also told them I don't drink at meals because it makes my body work harder to digest my food, hence burning more calories. even if they ask if I've had WLS, I'm not telling them. just a few very close friends and some of my family know, and it's staying that way. I don't owe anyone an explanation, and don't need their questions about it as it's my personal business. I was actually loosing weight faster pre-surgery, so I think I won't have too many problems.

    Pureed Stage One Week Early

I use Starbucks instant decaf to make mine, and yes, bam! 20-30 grams of protein at once. I don't like to eat Breakfast because then I want to continue eating all day long. if I have my coffee drink, I'm good all morning. If you add a little stevia English Toffee flavor, it's like eating dessert first.

    Very early stall?

my doc said yes, it is quite common to stall in weeks two and three. I just finished 4 weeks and have lost 17 pounds. I get to start solid foods today, hope the weight loss will pick up some. I was loosing more weight before the surgery. all is good though, and am fine if it runs a little slow. I lost 96 before surgery, have just 76 to go as of today.

    I need sleever buddies.....

I need sleever buddies as well. had my surgery on the 25th of August, went swimmingly. no pain meds of any kind, but had nausea because it seems I was allergic to the nausea meds. oh well, that was just for about a day, and all is good.

    Pureed Stage One Week Early

I was on liquids two full weeks before to two full weeks after. then pureed and soft for two weeks. today, I get solid food as I'm at 4 weeks post op. I actually am keeping some of the Protein powder and liquid in my diet. I enjoy the chicken Soup one from unjury and I like my morning coffee (decaf) with milk, Water, and protein. I drink that over several hours for my Breakfast and am quite happy with it.

    AUGUST 25TH HERE!

I'm an August 25th'er as well. I did not have to have barium. so very glad. my doctor does an endoscopy to make sure everything looks good after the surgery portion while still under the anesthesia. so much easier. I had barium 30 years ago and it took 14 days to pass and ripped me up inside. it was like giving birth to a cement baby. I saw the doc today for my 4 week follow up and got the all clear to eat normally again (in small portions) and can now exercise and lift again. I bought an exercise chair from HSN that has a swivel seat, pulleys with resistance bands, and can be used with or without the swiveler, and either standing or sitting. it's great because it will exercise every area of the body, and I'm most excited about the ab exercises. I've been walking on my treadmill for the past year and have lost a lot of weight previous to surgery (96 pounds prior) but now I have more exercises and can target the one place I loose the least amount. I used to wear 28s, and they were getting tight. Today, I was able to fit into size 18 jeans. so very excited. Hope to be in 16s by the end of October. still have 76 pounds to loose, but having lost a total of 113, I am well over the halfway hump and on my way to healthy and thin.
  8. I lost 96 pounds pre-op, but that's what I wanted. I wanted to get down to a healthy weight as fast as I could, so I went from 349 to to 253. I went through a lot of things for getting healthy including a complete heart work up because I was having some troubles. two sleep studies, and I'm on chemo for RA. so I had to time it around that as well. often times, they want to make sure that you can stick to a sensible diet prior to your surgery, so that they know this will be a good situation for you.
  9. I get liquid whole eggs, and pour out 2 tablespoons into my little egg steaming unit, add a pinch of shredded cheese, some onion powder, and voila, it's light and easy to eat. I've read that many cannot tolerate scrambled or hard cooked eggs, but poached works fine as the white cooks and the yolk stays creamy. if you have a hard time cooking them, then get a little egg steamer, they cook up nice in there. I did a steamed poached egg perfectly, and it was wonderful.

    Anyone else had these symptoms

my stomach has been gurgling even from drinking liquids. noisy little bugger, but not feeling sick at all. it usually happens when I drink too quickly, or eat more than my 3 tablespoons because I didn't measure my food.
  11. I had read pre-surgery that scrambled eggs were hard to digest and that poached was better to use. I'm at day 16, and tried them this morning. it was good, and I wanted lots more. unfortunately, I just don't seem to ever feel full with food, but do better with liquids there. I'm hoping this will pass, but somehow, I don't think so.
  12. might I suggest for your stall, a great Soup that I would have. it cleanses, so yeah, it can give you diarrhea, but ti does get your stalls jumpstarted. use a cube of Rapunzel vegan vegetable broth, two cups of Water, a small chicken breast, some fresh green Beans, celery root, red potato, and zucchini. poach the chicken in this broth with the veggies. if you were to have the broth, one cup of it on day one, another cup on day two, and eat some of the chicken an veggies on day three, I can guarantee that you will be jumpstarted. if you find that you start to have diarrhea at any point, don't have any more, stop at that point and store the rest. you should start losing weight again, and it's healthy in cleansing your liver. it's potent, all natural, and if you're like me, you will use all organic ingredients. it's what I use every time I would stall. have lost 105 pounds since November 2nd.

August post op sleevers: Check in

I was sleeved on 8/25, and had no real pain except for the gas when in the hospital. that's good because I'm allergic to pain meds and could not have any. At first I was anxious to chew, but now I really think I'd rather stay on mostly liquids. and have one food meal a day at dinner with my family. I was sick of the sweet, but found the Unjury Chicken Soup flavored protein powder and have been in heaven with this. I found when I am eating "real food" I want so much more and am not satisfied with 3 tablespoons of food. when I have the liquids, I have at breakfast, 1 cup skim milk, 2 cups decaf coffee, 1 cup water, with the vanilla protein powder, a scoop of greens powder for my veggies (chocolate flavored), and once blended, it goes in my giant 32 oz sipping cup. I drink it over several hours, and am quite happy. for lunch, I have the chicken soup protein powder with 2 cups water and 2 cups of broth, that makes another quart of liquid, and with these two I have more than the minimum of liquid intake, but of course will have more. for dinner, then I can have something like tuna, a poached egg, salmon, chicken, or shrimp, with some mashed carrot or green beans. my dietician does not want me to do this but be on solid food for 3 meals and two snacks. she keeps saying yogurt, but I have not liked the yogurt and if I have to have any more of it I'll barf. since I'm happier on the liquid diet, why can't I stay on mostly that with one meal a day?
