  1. By 4 weeks I was back to my pre-op workouts, lifting heavy weights, running and cycling.. At this point, if walking is doing well, try adding small bursts of jogging.. 30 seconds every 2-3 minutes.. do that for 30ish minutes.. and after a week or two, increase your jogging time..
  2. It doesn't necessarily have to be first thing in the morning either.. I experience this on any workouts I do that are over an hour or hour and a half, and when I work out really hard.. If I don't have much to eat before, I may be really hungry after, but a bite of food and i'm really full.
  3. I'm a pretty big cycling fan.. My preference for bikes is Specialized.. I have 2 road bikes and a mountain bike. I love road cycling.. that's my passion. right now is a great time to buy a bike, as most bike shops will be getting rid of their 2015/2014 models and should be on sale. Any good name brand will be great. Make sure your shop includes things.. like I've bought all mine from a local shop, rather than a big name shop because they include yearly maintenance and discounts for life of my bikes.. where big name stores only sell the bike. I've never had a nutrition issue, but now that I'm getting longer and longer rides (50 miles) I'm starting to fizzle out towards the end of the ride too. My last ride was only 20 miles, but pretty big hills and it was very hot and humid (91*) and I had to get a Gatorade after my ride because I was feeling dizzy and lightheaded..
  4. I've been riding since I was 310# and I had no problem. I couldn't have just gotten on a bike and started off though, I had been riding for years..
  5. You have to sort of "get over" not liking it. I used to hate it years and years ago. You have to find what you love to do. I found biking and cycling.. crossfit.. hiking.. kayaking.. there are SO many ways to get in some movement and cardio.. what is it that you don't like?
  6. yes, but the choice of carb is what matters.
  7. Better yet.. See if you have any bariatric groups around.
  8. Honestly, its a big waste of money.. There are plenty of free apps you can use to track your macros. Spend the money on a trainer and a bariatric nutrionist instead or maybe a counselour (but you don't need that either). Low carb is the way.. Or lower carb. No sugar.. veggies and meat.
  9. Good luck with that. Totally new woman. Crazy cause I did this level of activity before surgery, but just could not lose.
  10. Not as much as I was.. Only cause I quit my box $$$. However I'm working on my garage gym and level 1 certification.. I also have been running and cycling a lot.. While it's warm.
  11. Here are my before and during pics.. First pic was a year ago, on a girls trip on a cruise. Second pic was at Christmas 2014. I had been doing crossfit for 6 months at that point.. completing my pre-op tests. third and fourth were last night, 85 pounds down.
  12. Do you have a before picture? You look amazing!
  13. Are you tracking? Maybe you can add a little sweet potato in for a complex carb. I stay under 50 a day.
  14. I really didn't get any.. "hey.. whats different" comments until closer to 60 pounds lost.
  15. Stalls happen. You might have to tweak your calorie intake.. look at your exercise regime.. look at the foods you are eating.. check your vitamin intake.. but they happen. If you are eating 700 calories a day, you'll lose eventually.. you probably need to increase calories to 800-1000.. You should eating 3 solid meals by now, and maybe 1-2 protein drinks. Check your protein level, are you close to 100 grams a day? Eat protein, not sugar.
  16. Mine was 3/18. Down almost 85, with about 69 pounds to go.. Feeling great!
  17. Gotcha! I was back to jogging not long after surgery, but def. be careful with pain.. Try again in a week or so.
  18. I'm thinking of having a tiny sip and couple sips....im 2 weeks out.ppl are such prudes lol drink up ull be fine im about 6months out and i drink more now than i did before surgery and im fine lol well everything is fine so far since i STILL cant eat as much why would you encourage someone to do something that could be very harmful?
  19. If you have never ran before, you need to take it slow. Start by walking, then walking faster.. getting to a power walk. Eventually begin adding in 30 seconds of jogging with 2 minutes or so of walking and do that for 20 minutes... after that gets comfortable you can increase your jogging time..
  20. I still think they aren't pants! LOL. Those are cute tho..
  21. someone told me you can still get stones, even if the gallbladder is removed.. I hope she gets better soon!
  22. I weigh every day.. sometimes twice.. I'm obsessive. HAH. In the beginning it bothered me if I was up a pound.. now that I'm my lowest weight in my adult life, it doesn't bother me at all.
  23. Funny, I'm the opposite with Jackets! I always felt the bulked me up more.. and I used to be so hot. I want to wear cute business jackets to work.. or for important meetings, or interviews.. and hopefully I will, I'm broad shouldered, so it may not work for me.. And I HATED wearing a coat/jacket in the car, cause it was already tight.. it will be nice to be able to wear one in the car!!
  24. My Insurance covered the whole thing, but it could vary.
