  1. As I'm two weeks away from surgery, it has just occurred to me that I've never been normal size my whole life, and so I don't know how to be a normal size. I can't explain it. I just know I'm not going to be the jolly full figured girl I once was or the morbidly obese woman that I've become. It's going to be all new to me. Anyone else been there?
  2. I'm right there with you! I'm on the 15th! What type of diet are you on? I'm all sugar free liquids and low carb protein shakes.
  3. Jan 15, 2 week preop diet, started a few days early. Sugar free liquids, coffee, tea, low carb protein shakes, that's it.
  4. I think the eating once a day is another thing that ruined my metabolism.
  5. I felt that way before today. I was so nervous. But today went good. Three days early. But I'm going to eat tomorrow night for my son's birthday dinner. We are going out and we never do that. So I just have to keep reminding myself just to have a little instead of the whole entire schebang like I normally would do. It's unbelievable how much I can eat. My stomach honestly has to be huge. I've always been that way. So maybe tomorrow will be different for you too!
  6. Oh how I so hope to have much much much less hunger.
  7. awesome. I had beef broth tonight, tasted fake, now I'm having sleepy time tea plain, I'm the 15th so I guess a day or so after you! Hope you do great! Keep in touch of you like! Today honestly hasn't been bad, I want supposed to start til the 1st but thought I might as well go ahead
  8. I wasnt either but for some reason today wasn't bad. I ate over the weekend when i was trying to start liquid early but I i watched myself. Anyway I had some anxiety I guess that I would go nuts on it lol..but hopefully it's gonna be ok! I had beef broth this evening. It seemed like it would be so good but it wasn't..tasted kinda fake. And I'm not picky at all. I find it really hard to sleep when I'm not eating. Hoping I will do ok with that too.well keep in touch if you want! I think I'm starting to get a headache, ,which is easy for me to do so I think in gonna have a carb control shake, well have a good night sorry for rambling lol
  9. awesome, I have a date, and Jane had it all along just didn't know it, was approved in September, Dr said you're approved as of Jan 15th..so I thought this was just an approval date not the surgery date, anyway, super excited, have last appointment and pre op registration on the 5th, I was supposed to start 2 week liquid diet on Jan 1st but I started early surprisingly today hasn't been hard. So glad to hear you're finished up..almost! Gosh you could be done in January probably right?
  10. Yep..I'm not telling either. People are nosey and I'm private, about everything, not just surgery. When I had to put my time off work on the calendar, my ONE Co worker was genuinely concerned and just had to ask what I was having done. I said id rather not discuss it but part of it was fixing the severe hiatal hernia that had been causing my mysterious chest pain for the last 3 years. But my boss and Co worker know that it is to be kept private that even my family does not know. Work wouldn't know but since there is only one person picking up my slack while I'm gone, I felt it only appropriate that they know I was out for surgery.
  11. I'm not a Cryer but I can see me crying a time or two in the next 2 weeks or so. THREE WEEKS? Oh my goodness I thought two was long! You're right we can do it! Thanks for the pep talk!
  12. If you look at the pre op forums, scroll down till you see ones that are 1 day old and it should be around there.
  13. I think I titled it January 15th 2015.
  14. Mine is only protein shakes, water, tea, coffee (decaf for me cuz u don't want caffeine withdrawals), sugar free juice, sugar free sports drinks, and broth that's all, for two weeks, I started early but I had birthday cake today,in my head I excused it because I made the cake for someone and it took like 6 hours. ..not a very good excuse I know. But come Thursday I've got to do it right!
  15. I have another topic for January 15th! We could keep in touch there as well if yall like! I'm excited to have the same date!
  16. I've never had them do that
  17. I know what you meant by foods. Isopure clear protein drinks, any protein shakes, sugar free Popsicles, frozen protein, some people, like me can have Greek yogurt, sugar free pudding after going home. I don't think I will try them though for at least a week. Whatever is on your approved foods list. Did you receive one? Vitamin water zero, propel, POWERade zero the blue one is my favorite! They say you can stay cold for a long time. Best of luck and congrats!
  18. Is there actually anyone who didn't cheat on a 14 day preop liquid diet? I am getting nervous that I will screw up.
  19. So excited for you! I'll be praying for you today! I don't know from experience yet but I've read an extension cord is very helpful. I'm planning on taking a sleeping mask just in case and ear buds in case I don't have a private room or there's to much noise. Robe n slip on shoes for the many walks we'll be taking. Pillow for your tummy on the trip home. I have about an hour drive so I plan on taking a few zip lock bags in case I get nauseous. Biotene mouth spray n gas x strips. I'm taking my makeup I don't care what anyone says it make me feel better! Lip moisturizer or in my case lip gloss. Notebook n pens. I'm taking pajama pants and fuzzy socks to be cozy. *These are all just random suggestions some people barely take anything at all. I'm taking more because my child was in the hospital a lot and I learned then that sometimes you never know when you are coming home or what you may need. I don't see anything wrong with taking extra stuff if you like. If you don't use it all no big deal! You're gonna do great!
  20. I've been looking for those but haven't found them yet. Hopefully I will soon!
  21. Oh I'm so excited! You're the first one I've heard with the same date! Yay!
