  1. I see many people questioning the "drain" --I had my gastric sleeve surgery done in Minneapolis, MN in August, and did not have any type of drain. My entire experience has been amazing!! My Dr. did NOT require the pre-op fasting diet...all that was required was Clear Liquids 2 days before surgery. I was only in the hospital 1 night, they got me up walking the halls 6 hours after the surgery and then upon discharge the next day was put on FULL liquids. Since August 18, I have lost a total of 47 pounds, and feel fabulous. Don't be afraid to have this procedure done, it really is the perfect diet/health tool. Fortunately, I have not been ill at all, I am very careful to measure ALL my food and track everything I eat and drink. Again, to anyone looking to have this done ---go for it----it is one of the best gifts you can give yourself on your journey to get happy and healthy. Best of luck to everyone out there!

Hello Vnessa ---Please don't get discouraged. I was instructed to NOT even weigh myself until 2-3 weeks AFTER surgery because the body is still healing from the surgery and still full of fluids from the IV's. As much as I wanted to---I didn't weigh in until my 2 week post-op doctor visit and could not believe the scale --- I was down 11 lbs!! I am 7 weeks out now and am down a total of 29 lbs!! Keep your chin up, don't get discouraged and if you are not satisfied with your Protein shakes, try to change it up with a different type/name brand of shake. I tried several before I found one that really satisfied my appetite and gave me the protein I needed. Some are better than others, and different flavors can be a big boost!! Best of Luck --YOU CAN DO IT!!
