Any November Sleevers for 2014 need surgery buddys?

Water water water! I've been guzzling it like crazy. If your allowed sugar free jello, that might help. -
Where are the November Sleevers?

My doctor doesn't require the EGD but I have already done the EKG and sleep study. I just need to get these last 8lbs off and then I'll be ready to rock and roll! Woohoo! -

Oh I've been doing that already! I thought there was done other testing y'all were talking about. I started full liquids last Wednesday. And was doing a pretty strict pre-op diet before that as well but I need to lose 38lbs before surgery. I have 8 to go so they put me on the liquids to get me there quick! -

What pre-op testing are y'all getting? I'm not sure what my doctor requires... I have my pre-op next Monday, 10/27. I just figured I'd pay my upfront costs, have some blood work and find out what time I have to be at the hospital on the 4th! -

Mine did not encourage a cheat day. At all! I've still got 8lbs to lose and I'm trying to do it before the 27th (but have until 11/4). -

I caved on the liquid diet last night and feeling like crap about it today... I went over to my boyfriends cousins for his bday dinner. I ate pork chops, mashed potatoes and corn. When I weighed this morning, I was still down almost a pound from Saturday but I just know it would have been more had I not screwed up. Back at it 100% today. Shaking it off and not letting one bad meal break me. I think I might have panicked a little because I picked up the loan for my portion of the surgery yesterday so it made it all that much more real! -
Favorite full liquid, savory choices?
angierue replied to NicoleSW's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
There's also a raspberry hot chocolate that is soooooo delicious. And even though it's still technically sweet, something about it being warm makes all the difference! -
I wonder what the connection is between those that have been "forever fluffy" and those that are more likely to open and share the process? Me, I've been fat my whole life. My goal weight is 180-190. And that would make me almost the same size I was in high school. And I will be thrilled when I get there. But I think maybe because I've been always fat, I've had a lifetime to deal with the stigma that came with it... To toughen up and thicken my skin. So now that I'm doing this, it doesn't matter to me what anyone thinks about my choice because it didn't matter what they thought about me before either. And if this causes me to lose a friend? Well then they weren't really a friend to begin with. Again, this is a highly personal choice but if my being open inspires someone, like it already has and I'm not even post-op yet, then what tiny amount of negative feedback I get will be worth it.

Favorite full liquid, savory choices?

My clinic actually sells a line of high protein supplements of all types. I believe they're under the brand name Health Wise. They have several soups that are available. I've had the cream of mushroom, creamy chicken, chicken bullion, and tomato. The only one I really didn't like is the tomato but that's because I don't really like tomato soup. The others have been a really nice change from the sweet fruit/chocolate flavors. I am on full liquids (pre-op) right now so have been doing 2 sweet and 3 savory most days. -
What are you telling people at home and at work?
angierue replied to vsgcrystalg's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's definitely a personal choice who you tell and how much you tell them. But for me, total and complete honesty was the only way I would go. I'm not ashamed or embarrassed about my choice. I've been big my whole life. I've tried doing it on my own. And anyone who thinks this is the "easy way" out can kiss my @$$. I That being said, I have been greeted with nothing but support from those that know. My entire staff at work knows and they have all told me how proud they are of me and how they couldn't do what I've been doing (my pre-op diet has been very strict). My family knows our history and while we're all bigger, I've always been the standout because of how much larger than them I am. I'm excited about being the "little sister" to my two older brothers and not just the younger one. Lol Yes, the decision to have WLS surgery is very personal and the choice to share about it even more so. But my hope is that my strength and courage to do this will be an inspiration to someone like me who has struggled with their weight issues. Why would I want to lie and make them feel even worse about themselves because I was miraculously able to do it with "diet and exercise" while they struggle every day to keep 1 pound off? Maybe I'm just lucky because I've got an amazing supportive network of family, friends, and coworkers. But being open and honest is the only way I could ever see myself on this journey. -
I'm definitely an open book. And one of my main reasons is that I hope I can be an inspiration to someone one day. I haven't shouted it from social media just yet but that's only because I'm waiting until I'm post surgery because I'm afraid of jinxing it. Lol

11/4 and I'm from Oklahoma. Getting sleeved in Edmond with Dr Walton.

I'm 5'6" as well. I was honestly shocked I was so heavy. I thought I was still around 350. That's what avoiding the scale will do for ya... Lol

I will have been on full liquids almost 3 weeks by surgery date. Then there's two weeks of liquids after. My clinic skips purée and goes straight to soft. I'm counting down the days until I can have pintos and cheese from taco bell. Lol -

Today has been hard to stay on the liquid diet. I'm off work and spending the day with my boyfriend, who is supportive but he's gotta eat. We have been driving around looking at rental houses because I'm planning to move in the next couple months. Drove him through the McDonald's and I got a water to mix my shake with. But I wanted food soooooo bad! Not even bad food. Just food! I would kill for a chicken breast and some green beans right now. Lol -
My starting weight (also my highest ever) was 380.5. As of this morning, I'm 353.5 but I haven't been sleeved yet. I've lost 28lbs on my pre-op diet. My doctor is requiring a 38lb loss so I've got 10 to go but it's coming off quick. I'm being sleeved on 11/4.

What are your NSG's (Non Scale Goals)?
angierue posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I saw a thread earlier that got me thinking... What are some non scale related goals y'all are looking forward to? Here's a couple of mine. Sky diving - Crazy, I know, but it's something I've always wanted to. Kayaking - My hair stylist, who is also a friend, goes all the time and we've already got a "date" for her to show me how next summer. Clothes - I recently purchased 2 shirts that are my two goal items. I can't wait to wear them! Crossing my legs - Can't remember the last time I was able to do that! Sitting cross legged - I rarely, if ever, get on the floor now but can't sit "Indian style". Looking forward to doing that again! Run - I've always thought that running would be so therapeutic but my knees can't take it right now. Those are just a few of mine. What are yours? -
Its finally becoming real the doctor submitted to my insurance

I have Anthem as well. My advocate told me when she was filing that they have 30 days legally. But she called me 2 days later with the approval! Yay! Surgery date of 11/4. Good luck! I hope you hear back just as quickly. -

I didn't make it to the gym. Blah! I feel bad for not going but I just didn't have the energy. Hopefully I'll feel better this evening and I'll be able to get back on track! -

I have Tori and absolutely love her. Yay on the 30lbs!!! That's so awesome. I can't wait until I'm post-op. It feels like it'll never get here. Lol

I've almost survived my first full day of liquids! If I can just keep my composure after the gym, I'll be super excited. Lol -
Yay! It's like a weight lifted off your shoulders, huh? :-)

I haven't had that issue but she did address leg cramps in the pre-op diet class yesterday. Try drinking Smart Water or PowerAde Zero to help replace lost electrolytes. -
TMI- pre liquid diet, haven't had a bowl movement in days

My dietician actually addressed this today at the pre-op diet class. She said to get Miralax, that it'll keep things moving.
