    Getting banded 16th Febuary :D

Hi Luciej well got my 2nd fill and wow i have restriction now. Can only eat mushies and liquids but this is what i thought it would have been like right from the start, but i could eat normal untill my first fill and even then quite big portions and it was hard not to eat. Now well bring it on lol. Not long now for you. time will pass quickly and then there will be no stopping you. Good luck best wishes Lisa
  4. Hi Julie wow have i got restriction now, had my second fill on 21st and boy do i know i have a band now, have only been able to eat mushies and liquids for a week now (i thought it would be like this from day one ) I think you will find the weight will drop off now, I think i have lost about 5lbs this week. I have a total of 7mls in my band now and i think it just might be the right amount. keep me posted on your weight loss, you may not have lost for a few weeks but hey 32lbs what would we have done to lose that before we were banded. Well done!!!! best wishes Lisa

    christmas and food

Hi Helen You have done so well up to now that i'm sure you will get back on track. I too ate lots of chocolate and cakes over xmas and your right they go down so easy. If your finding it hard to keep food down could your band be too tight ??

Belated happy new year to all Hi Debbie and all new bandsters. Had my first fill just before xmas and have some restriction, but what it did do for me was stopped a lot of the gas i had been experiencing. Realy pleased with the way things have settled down. As long as i don't eat too fast (my biggest problem) then i would not know the band was there, can still eat a good portion but i'm assured this wont be the case once they get the right fill and that it could take up to three or four fills. Booked in for second fill on 21st Jan, have joined the gym and go swimming three times a week so i am hoping for the weight to start moving, it's going but at a slow rate, not sure of how much untill i weigh in on 21st. will keep you posted. Again might be few and far between as still working nights and days, Good luck to you all very best wishes lisa

hi Debbie I live in Fleet Hampshire, had my first fill hour ago, have only had cup of coffee so far, but have lost 16lb from start including pre op diet. So, so far so good. look forward to having restriction. oh and well done wicked weight loss. Sorry if it takes a while for me to reply i work seven days a week. (Got to pay for this op some how lol!!)
  16. Hi Lynsay I had my surgery on the 24th Nov and just like you i am hungry and though i have not been sick have made myself uncomfortable. I thought i was the only one that would do something so silly and have gained a couple of pounds but as most people say we are in the healing stage and not to worry about losing but more about healing. We will do fine, roll on first fill Lisa

    burping/belching

wow, thank goodness for this site. I had band fitted on 24th Nov and from day one had no restriction, I was constantly hungry and only the fact that this op cost me £7000 has kept me on a diet for the last 18 days apart from one binge day. Then about 4 days ago the burping started and gets uncomfortable when i eat and drink untill i have burped (or farted) i am uncomfortable. I know now that a lot of people have this, i just wonder why mine has only started now after 14 days. I did have the op gas pain in my shoulder from day one, but that is a lot less now. Thank you all as i feel less like a freak now with my massive burps and farts lol.

hi Gary and well done that realy is a great weight loss, good luck with tummy tuck and finding a special bandster to share your new life with Hi to Steve, Again you are doing realy well too, especially with no fill yet, me i am 18 days post op and have had no restriction untill about two days ago and now i can only eat porridge and the likes of, i am due for 1st fill on the 17th just three weeks after op. Some have said this is wrong, but my surgeon says he does not fill the band at all during op, where as some do ?? Also hello to Debbie well done, another great weight loss. I had lost 3kg in 5 days of pre op diet, dont know if i have lost anymore as i wont get on my scales, want to wait and use the hospital ones, so will post and let you know how i get on next Monday. best wishes to you all Lisa
  19. Well eleven days post op now and i have not got any restriction at all, can eat normally. I do have a lot of pain in my left shoulder, but i had read about that so was no suprise, i do get a lot of gas after eating and drinking, and i have lost some weight but will have to wait untill i weigh in at my first fill on the 17th December.
  20. Hi to all, just wondered if anyone else is due for banding in the next week or so. I will be getting it done next saturday 24th. really nervous after being so excited for the last few weeks. I will only be on pre op diet for about 5 days before op is this normal or does it vary from surgeon to surgeon ?

    Surgery on Wed...

I had my surgery saturday and yes i was scared, even to the point of doing my will. Have had surgery before and never got scared. i think for me it was because i was making a choice to have the op. Glad i did day four post op and doing well, good luck to you, you will be fine.
  23. It's what's inside that counts. Well this is my band and stomach taken by my surgeon Mr Toh at 2.45pm on the 24th November. Finished work at 07.30 on 24th Nov, admitted to hospital at 08.30am. Had a long wait untill 2pm to go down for surgery. Back on ward at 3.30. Talking to family on phone at 4pm. Up and walking about at 5.30. Only mild discomfort, shoulder pain from the gas but walking about and my partner patting my back allevited most of the pain in shoulder. Had comfortable night but did not sleep a wink, not because of pain or anything just could not sleep. Sloppy porridge for Breakfast, which tasted good after 5 litres of Water and two cups of coffee since surgery. Discharged at 1pm. should have been 10am but surgeon delayed. Home for 1.30 and still trying to let it sink in that i have had a lap band fitted. Believe it or not i am enjoying a very well deserved glass of red wine. Hugs Lisa

    Hello fellow UK banders

Hi Steve Have just been banded on 24th Nov, so i am day two of post op and feel suprisingly very well. Like you i would encourage all on pre op diet to follow it as my surgeon said my liver had shrunk considerably and he knew i had followed the diet. Best wishes Lisa
  25. Well done Hellen What an achievment you must be very proud of yourself. one for having the op and two for the great wieght loss, hope soon to be able to put some weight loss onto my tickertape. Keep up the good work. Like you i feel great, and was shopping the day i got out of hospital, only for short while but still out. I am on day two post op now and quite shocked with how well i feel. As i had read of so many people being off work for weeks Best wishes Lisa
