    Need advice and encouragement!

I have a question since being sleeved on 11/04/14. I have terrible pain in my sleeve when I try to eat. This is not a everyday occurrence but when it does happen it's extremely painful. I've had tests and apparently everything is normal. When I eat after two bites I start to get pains in my sleeve. The pain is so bad I sometimes have tears. The last time it happen was the end of Jan. The episode lasted six weeks. I went through times of vomiting, pain, and of course depression set in. I stayed in bed majority of the time. I've had this happen off and on a lot since my sleeve. I googled and read about gall bladder attacks and the Pancreatitis. My symptoms fit both of these. But because the Upper GI and MRI show no problems my surgeon continues to but me on medication and my medical doctor put me on antidepressants. Plus my specialist for my fibromyalgia put me on antidepressants to control the pain for fibromyalgia and arthritis in my wrists, ankles, and knees. I do not need nor want to take all these medications as even my fibromyalgia and arthritis isn't a everyday occurrence of being in pain. Only flare ups off and on about once every three months. When I had the painful attack in Jan. I stopped taking all medications but my blood pressure, thyroid, and anti acid medications. What a big difference in my mood and I felt normal again. No more feeling like a zombie. I also could not remember doing tasks or having conversations with people. Someone would bring up an incident and I had no recall or I would message people and not remember doing it. All of my actions I blame on the medication. Can a gall bladder or pancreatic act up off and on and not continuous? When this pain comes it is when I'm trying to eat. I eat extremely slow, chew my food twenty times before swallowing. I do not drink liquids by gulping. I follow the rules of being sleeved. Actually I eat very little. Popsicles are no problem and small amounts of broth from Soup. I even started counseling. I know it is not in my head. I have no regrets about my choice to go through with being sleeved. I could have cried today when I took three bites of a baked potato with cheese and broccoli and the pain started again. I stopped eating immediately and now I'm scared to eat because I'm going to California for three weeks and do not want to be in this terrible pain. Thank you for any assistance.

And back in the hospital I go!

BellaBloom ~ it is a simple surgery. Gall bladder & ulcers can become a problem following this type of surgery. I do not smoke or drink either but ulcers can be caused by certain foods and stress too. I'm three months out and struggling with same difficulties as you. I can't eat because it hurts badly. Even swallowing water. I have been living on sugar free popsicles for the past month. Stay positive????????????

    All alone in this

The cab service could be a problem unless pre-approved. I live in Michigan and not allowed to use taxi or any other public transportation. Ride must be relative or friend. I'm on my own too and have checked into different ways of transportation and support. The online support groups are great plus attending a monthly meeting. It sad to have to pay your sister, if I lived closer you could count on me. Best wishes!

Keep vomiting after Gastric by pass

I've been doing extremely well until now. My surgery was 11/04/14. A few weeks ago I noticed extremely pains, wanting to vomit, (but can't), immediately following swallowing anything liquids and solids. Last Tues. I went back to my surgeon and he scheduled-having ultrasound this coming week. Now along with above symptoms, within 20 minutes of trying to eat anything I get cramps, and diarrhea. Stomach makes terrible loud noises and extremely gas. Now popsicles coming out same color on opposite end. At times, I feel weak and faint. Doctor mentioned gall bladder. I'm getting worse instead of better. I've lost 42 pounds and have 60 pounds to goal.

    Super Saturday Weigh In

@kbirnie~ in the support groups I've attended and also the online groups. It's been discussed this is not uncommon. It depends on the individually & their recovery. Some make go as far as three months. The importance is to try to keep from dehydration. I've read on here & my other support group that ginger root is suppose to help with the sickness. I would not let it go on to long without consulting your physician. Only he or she can really know your situation. Keeping plenty of Water in your system is important. Try ice chips or shaved ice like they give us following surgery. Best wishes in your new journey! ViktoryaLynne

  22. EXTREMELY UPSET! I started all my paperwork and testing in May. I was told my surgery would be in August. I received a phone call that the psychiatrist had not cleared me. I had three counsel sessions with a counselor prior to the appointment with this psychiatrist. I've made several phone calls to see exactly how many more counsel sessions he wants me to have. He does not return my phone calls. I can't switch to a new psychiatrist because it is not allow with the bariatric program I'm involved in. I doubt my insurance would pay again. I go to two support Bariatric meetings twice a month. I'm involved in three bariatric online groups, my best friend went through the procedure years ago but she's aware of what it is all about. I feel it is very unprofessional and disrespectful not to return my phone calls. I have called him because the bariatric employees could not get him to return their calls either. I have called once a week since the first of September. Everything has been approved by the insurance company and everything I needed to do to prepare for surgery is done also. He's the only one messing me up. I'm very depressed over it. I thought I would be starting my new journey in August. Thanks for reading. Torrielynne I'm extremely upset. I'm doing this for me but I also have two daughters getting married in September and October of 2015.
