  1. I kinda agree with @@Jersrose43, there r underlying issues in a marriage that may sometimes get amplified when one partner makes a big change.

By having WLS, you have made a wonderful and powerful statement! You are a strong person and want to be healthy, all great things, right?

Well, not always for everyone. Lots of unspoken questions and issues can arise from that decision.

Insecurities, among a myriad of relationship challenges can come Into play.

Picking a fight with you about going to the Casino might not really be what his real issue was, especially if you both already agreed not to go there.

Not everyone has a fairly tale marriage, I certainly don't...

Stay strong and take care of yourself. While you are going through your Weight Loss Journey, it might be wise to start seeing a therapist and work on yourself as a whole. It can help us see things more clearly so we can make better decisions about behavior we are wiling to accept from ourselves and others ????

  2. Im 6 weeks post op and don't have much hair to loose to begin with. I'm post menopausal and my hair had already thinned out????

I'm getting 60-80 grams of Protein a day.

I've also been taking Biotin, but this only helps your existing hair be healthy from what I have read.

I've also starting using Rogane now twice a day. Hope to stimulate growth of already no so great scalp.

    Any other recommendations are welcomed????

If I loose hair I'm just getting a wig. It'll still be worth loosing weight and getting healthy, as much as it will stink

  3. I gained 9 lbs while in the hospital (3 days) and it took me almost 2 weeks to loose it. I'm 6 weeks out now and down 42lbs including 2 week pre-op.

I was hoping I would be down more, but like they say it didn't come in over night so I am just grateful that I had the Sleeve surgery and my weight is now going in the right direction... DOWN????

I'm in my 2nd stall, last one was week 3-4. This 1 has been a week. I was cleared to exercise (other medical issues) and lost .5 in a week after working out... Lol.

I think my body just loves to hold on to Water right now , any suggestions?

  4. My doc n Nut were flex able on Protein drinks provided they met certain criteria -per serving

    1. At least 25 grams of Protein

    2. Less then 8 grams of sugar

Every doc/ NUT has different recommendations and diet guidelines both pre and post op. While surfing this site you will find the vast differences.

I have used Bariatric Advantage Meal Replacement, CVS brand protein and GNC so far, I'm just 6 weeks post op. They all were fine.

Haven't looked at muscle milk yet, I would just check the contents. I also read in a few places that our body can not process more then 20 grams of protein at a time. "food for thought" when choosing more expensive high Protein Drinks.

    Good luck with everything !!!!

  5. @@#9grammy liquids were hard for me 1st 2 weeks, just keep sipping Water as much as possible. I got dehydrated n it caused a mess with my body. But It will get better for you soon????

As far as your sense of smell, well that is just scary !!! That must be really hard for you, I'm sorry. There has to be a medical reason?

I guess for now your boyfriend is right, just use it to your advantage????

My 1st 2-3 weeks were tough. I was exhausted, couldn't drink well n had other serious medical issues keeping me in bed.

Then, one day I woke up and all fell to place. 6 weeks post op and it's just a bad dream and I feel really great overall.

    You will too????????????

Now all I want is a regular BM!!! Lol

  6. I am almost 53. Would it be creepy to have an Instagram account? My 15 year old would be mortified!!

i am 53 and I have an account, got it to monitor my kids, n don't really use it, but this is a great idea!!!

Now I have to find out what my name is on it... Lol

Let me know urs and we can be friends... Lol

  7. I'm so glad you posted this!! I've been reading some negativity too.

It so important for everyone to be a able to speak their mind and vent their feeling. It's also even more important to help those feeling bad, sad or down.

How do those of us that are in a good place share the "good" advise and emotions with those that are "down" at the moment, post a positive and uplifting reply !!!

We are all in this together, and will all have our moments of happiness, doubt, frustration, and accomplishment.

Share, support each other, and know that we all ultimately have a similar goal, to loose weight!

Blessings, Love and Good luck everyone????

  8. Look at the all the weight you lost already!!! Congrats ????

Im 6 weeks out n in my 2nd stall, but that's ok. Our bodies need to adjust. There are a few threads explaining the physiology of why this happens that are great, and helped me accept the stalls better.

Also this is not a sprint, it's a lifetime change, we didn't put all this weight on in 5 months and it's not All going to come off that quick. (Even though that really would be awesome!)

I go into the before and after pics a lot. For me that keeps me excited and motivated. Find what keeps you excited and go with it!

    Good Luck????????

  9. I just bought a Garmin Vivofit at the encouragement of a fellow Sleever. I was sleeved 9/16 and definitely need to move more.

I'm not know for being really active, hence the surgery ... Lol

But I'm ready and looking for fellow sleevers that are already moving or would like to start and join me. All are welcomed. Any recommendations and suggestions also welcomed????

    On Vivofit I'm also BellaLuce4

Hope to walk/ workout with you soon????

  10. I'm trying so hard to do lots of things before next Thursday (surgery day). Not sure why I did not plan better. Trying to add extra insurance plans, update will, organize house, do heavy lifting that won't be allowed next month, organize clothes. I'm so tired. Want to deep clean the house since people will be staying a few nights but just decided to hire someone and go enjoy my life the next few days.

Had my last steak last night probably for quite sometime. shakes all day then dinner of my choice. Tonight is pizza, tomorrow Indian food. I am starting liquids Sunday even though they are not required until Tuesday.

So just enjoying time with friends and family and some meals out.

Totally prepared for a change now. Been working toward this for months.

Ordered a few more coffee sample packs (protein) since i gave up coffee, and some Soups with Protein, plain Protein Powder and a few kinds of regular flavor powders.

Packing my bag up tomorrow for the hospital. Getting a few extra blender bottles tomorrow and a ninja to blend my drinks in.

Enjoying a day with my friend tomorrow getting wax, nails and lunch maybe massage . A day of pampering! Then Sunday six flags for my sons bday.

By Monday am I will have nothing else to do but wait for Thursday! Super stoked!

Good Luck!!! Keep us posted ????

  11. Bellaluce, we were sleeved about the same time, mine was 9-2-14. I agree with you I wish I had done it sooner I'm 56 and when I first went to the doctor, before I found this group I thought I might be too old :). Welcome to the group. I'm down 35 pounds and already feel much better.

    5'3" and shrinking

    Married / 4 kids/ ages 16-24

I work full time in outside sales, so I'm driving all over the place every day, eating lunch in my car, a daily challenge for me!
