    Passed psych eval :)

That is soooo exciting!! I really happy for you! You have made it so so far already, don't let anxiousness get in ur way now???? I was on a 2 week Protein diet that really helped me lose right before surgery. I went into Ketosis and lost 15 lbs in that 2 weeks. What ever works for you, I wish you the best on your journey????????

What are you eating post op?

. Sorry, finger hit the reply button.....Bariatric Advantage Meal Replacement unflavored. It has a little bit of flavor but not overwhelming at all. I'm a real picky eater too! I use it in homemade shakes with the Nutribullet also. When I make the soup, I add it in per serving before I heat it up so I can accurately measure how much Protein I am getting each time.

    Drinking

I was a huge Water drinker and had similar apprehensions. Well, I'm 6 weeks post op and everything is just fine. I can now drink water with no problem, just not as much and never 15 minutes before I eat or 30 after. But I feel great and I just always always have a water bottle with me. (Except meals... Lol) It will evolve naturally for you, just pay attention to how you are feeling and measure- monitor your food and drink intake. I had a drink last weekend at a party. I was fine with it, just sipped slow and enjoyed it. My doctor said to wait 1 month n obviously no overdoing it. See what ur Doc n NUT say. They are all so different. Just remember right after surgery liquids are tough so it is sipping all day and nite.

What are you eating post op?

I was sleeved 9/16. Down 41.5 lbs. 1st week was all liquids & Protein drinks per doctor schedule. Weeks 2 & 3 I was on purée foods. I made a few Soups n added plain protein powder(was quick n easy) n had scrambled eggs whites, puréed chicken salad. I really stayed away from carbs . I'm in regular food now. Focus in protein and add Veggies n fruits . I use My Firness Pal to track everything. Being new, it helps me focus and stay in point. Good luck!!!

    New to fifties group

Congrats on ur surgery!!! Such an exciting time, I know that it's the best thing I've ever done for myself???? Water was an issue for me in the beginning. Ironic, because I have always been a huge water drinker. If I could give any advise, if would be to sip water, sip more water, and don't forget to sip water ... Lol It makes everything work better, and helps you heal better. Hope you feel better soon????
  10. Good luck to you both!! I was sleeved 9/16 in Bergen County. It the best thing I have ever done for myself! M down 41 lbs including 2 week pre-op diet. In a stall now, but not worried! Lots of questions and emotions during this journey, and BP is a great site to look for answers or just surf and learn. It's nice to know we are in this together????

    New to fifties group

Hi everyone, just found this and would love to be a part of the group! I'm 53, was sleeved 9/16 ... 6 weeks yesterday . It's been a roller-coaster for me, but my only regret is not having this surgery earlier!!! I'm in my 2nd stall already, but I'm ok with that. I just keep focusing on the big picture. I'm down 41.5 lbs including my 2 week pre- op diet. I haven't been under 200 in over 8 years and I'm 7.5lbs away and already my BMI went from 45 ( morbidly obese) to 38 (never thought I'd be happy to be Obese) LOL
  12. Thx for sharing. I'm 6 weeks post op. I have ulcerative colitis and have been taking medicine for over 20 year to stop going 10 times a day. Now I am constipated, I just have to laugh!! I've been taking Miralax per my doctor and it has helped a bit. but I'm looking for an daily alternative . I'm going to try the fiber gummies and hope for the best. Any other recommendations / suggestions welcomed. Ultimately I'd love to be regular just with my food I take, wishful thinking??

    Carb / Protein / Fat % guidelines

I use MFP and also aim for 60-80 gr of Protein a day. Mine is set for 40% carbs, 25% Fat and 35% protein . But weekly I am only getting a little over 1/2 of the Carb goal, and just over 3/4 of the Fat goal. Protein I hit every day.

    NSV shout outs

6 weeks post op, I already was able to get rid of all my 22's , 20's and a most of the 18's. My closet is thinning out and today I bought my first size 16 in over 10 years!! On my way ????????
  19. Thx, I am focusing totally on water and protein I take now. I did have a hard time with water in the beginning.
  20. This is a question I wanted to ask as I am now into my second month. Did any one hit plateaus in their 2nd n 3rd month? I had a 2 week one and just got out of it.
