Need to get back on my path

@@natalie_christin thank you for sharing your story. The pain you are living with daily hit home for me especially. I was only sleeved 6 weeks ago. A week before my surgery my foot swelled up and I couldn't get out of bed. They wheeled me into surgery! I stayed like that for 3 more weeks. Unless you are bedridden and in constant pain, I just don't know if you can imagine just how debilitating it can be! I know I never could until it happened to me. Pain is overwhelming and can be all consuming, regardless of everything else happening. Do you have a pain management plan from your doctors? That you were able to loose 100 lbs through chronic pain and a Divorce in just a year speaks volumes of your strength!!!! You are amazing!! Sounds like you know just what you need to do, you just need to vent and re-establish some life lines. Being bound inside is isolating, thank god for the internet!!! Pain aside, Divorce is like a death. There are levels of mourning that a person must go through. Only you and/or a therapist can help you through that. Years ago, I had found a public therapy center that accepts patients on a sliding income scale. They are in most areas. Getting there is a different issue. Now I'm married with 4 kids and loving life and living it to the fullest most days. You are young and have the world ahead of you!! Keep going, your a smart women and you can shape your life???? I know I am so happy I found this site! I go to this site for support and answers. We are lucky to have it and to have each other. If you ever need to reach out to a friend message me???? Arlene

    Weight loosing stall

Someone else posted this article and I found it informative about why our bodies stall.. Doesn't make us like the stall any better, but at least explains why... [url=http://www.dsfacts.c...-or-plateau.php
  9. @mauigirl555. I told almost no one, even though I went through that 5 years of ambivalence! I'm 6 weeks post op and am telling close friends if I feel the inclination the time. As time is passing and I see my success I find myself opening up more and more. This is a personal journey and everyone handles their WLS differently. No rules , only the ones you make for yourself????????

  12. All so well spoken !!! Such a fabulous group, I am honored just to read your responses???? Before speaking, think to yourself.... Do I really need to say this? Do I need to say this now? What will be accomplished? I tell my kids this all the time. It's always good to take a breath and pause before we unleash the wrath of our inner most thoughts and feelings, don't you think?

    sleeved last night

make sure you are comfortable or ask for meds, I don't believe in suffering! You should have a script for liquid pain meds for home also. I didn't use much after I got home, only 2 days n it was more to just relax, but better safe than sorry???? Congrats on ur WLS!!!

    Panera

I get it every time I go! Have meetings there almost weekly, yummy????
  15. @@auntiemel what an amazing story, thx for sharing your WLS journey????
  16. Just an FYI...I read that the body can not absorb large amount of Protein at 1 time 20-30 grams max per serving. 3 meals and 3 Snacks a day, try starting with protein at each serving for all 6 n it helps chip away at the protein and keeps your metabolism up to burn fat. Besides Protein Powder-some food choices are Scramble egg whites Greek yogurt chicken or Tuna salad ( home made- low fat) Fat free cheese Skim Milk Ground Beef or Turkey Home made soups with shredded meat

    HOW many calories?!?!

I was sleeved 9/16, I track everything I eat and drink in My Fitness Pal right now. I'm on a mission to lose weight and not tracking simply will not work for me, at least not right now . I use MFP to look up foods and their nutrition content before I choose to eat it many times. After seeing the content of certain thing, I will change my menu for a healthier choice. As I get close to goal one day I would like to loosen up and not track, but that is a pipe dream away right now... Lol

    Panera

The chicken soup broth there is great alternative
  19. BellaLuce4

    Panera

Obviously that is a personal choice. You should really be asking yourself another question... Do I want to be success with my WLS? Panera Cheddar n Broccoli Soup is not the best choice, Not if you are looking to loose weight. Although it does have a nice amount of Protein. It is way too high in fat for such a small amount of food. Not an optimal choice for our surgery, especially just post op. Here is a pic of the nutritional value-

    Catheter during surgery

I had 4 C-sections and my Appendix out. Got 1 every time and I learned after the 1st baby to ask for it to stay in the first day... Lol When I was sleeved they kept it in for 24 hours so I wouldn't have to get up to pee, best invention ever!!! Lol
  21. Crazy how many of us experience similar reactions. I didn't tell anyone but my best friend n husband before hand. I chose to not tell my mom till 5 days before the surgery and by her initial reaction it was a smart thing to do. She came around, but did not help me at all. I guess her way of showing me she didn't approve?
  22. I was you 5 Years ago. I went to the seminar and had my first appt with the Doctor and NUT. I never went back. 5 years later I weighed pretty much the same. I went up, down and back up in weight over and over. This year I finally admitted to myself that I could not do it on my own and began my WLS journey all over again. Started back at the same doctors in April and had the Sleeve done 9/16. I only have 1 regret... I wish in did it 5 years ago!!! What a waste of 5 very unhealthy years of my life. Also, there are very few pics of me. I'm always taking the pics cause I don't want to be in them. My kids graduated 8th grade, HS and college. I had so many wonderful family and friend events and when we did photo albums this summer it was like I wasn't even there !!! How sad!! It is a personal decision only you can make for yourself. But make your decision based on facts, not embarrassment that you can't do it on your own like me. My stats: HW 251 ( this summer and 5 yrs ago) SW 228 CW 207 My waste is already down 10 inches from 51 this summer to 41 this week???? No regrets here????????????????
