  1. your are doing great, and I'm so happy for you. I have switched boards, as I find people on the main post board whine, that

    a. they are not loosing weight

    b. they are hungry

    etc, etc,

I'm so pleased with the board, as I too exercise 6 times a week, not to your level yet. I walk 3 times a week for 50 min, fast, and work out with a trainer 2 x a week for 1 hour. I started walking right after my surgery, and have increased my levels. I feel so much better and am so determinted to shed my weight and be health. I hope to have done as well as you soon. again I am so happy for you.

Hopefully people on the other board wake up and rember the band is only a tool.

  2. you will be bloated and have gas. I used to way my self everyday, it gets kida silly after a while. The first 10-15 pounds will be Water etc. after that excerise will help get the weight down. Don't be in a hurry to loose, you will need time to heal. I weigh in tmw, and have been really working hard, but remember musle weighs more than fat!. and muscle will burn cal when not working out.

    good luck

  3. I workout, and follow the band rules. I'm constantly cold at night. I live in vcr bc and its around 8 C

which is cold for this time of year. Could it be the weight loss, or not enough food. I eat about 1100 calories a day, but on the on the odd day only about 800. I'm trying for 1200 a day as I walk 16 kms a week, and work out with a trainer 2x week for an hour each time. Why am I so cold. I was always a hot person before. I am taking a hot bath tonight just to warm up.

    thx

  4. We eat dinner at 5:30 daily. I have 2 girls, 11 and 12 that ruin my dinner. does stress affect the band, that would cause pg. I know when they do this, I just want to get the meal overwith, and I eat too fast.

Is this stress related? I said the my hb tonight, that i will eat alone at dinner for now on. hopefully this works, if they don't behave. They are loving kids, but they like to push each others buttons.

I also go the full sign last night at the keg. I had the salmon with vegies, and got the tightness in my chest, and pushed my plate away. 2 minutes later the pain was gone, and I was happy. (by the way the kids were really good at that dinner).

I really don't want to miss dinner with my family, as this is our time to tell each other about our day, but my band comes first.

    Any advice?

    thx

  5. I'm 7 weeks post op, and last week went to my local dr, I thought I had a infection. she said no. went to Kittie for my fill and the first thing she said was "infection" and perscribed pills. happy to say infection is gone. Try the (dark brown bottle) peroxcide (not spelled right), put lots on, if it fizzes your infected.

    good luck,

  6. its ok, I if I may suggest, what I do.

the diet icecream frozzen fuducles (spelling wrong)

I buy the 40 cal, ones and there are great. don't cut it out but replace with a low cal icecream.

    good luck

p.s. before sugery I never ate icecream, but since for a treat I do have one daily.

  7. great for you, you must be so happy with your results. The more you do it, the more happy you will be and live longer, and make the band work with you.

congrats. I think I will do the may walk here where I live. I'm also walking 20kms a weeks, and the change in my legs, etc and engery is great. I would do the band again in a heart beat.

good luck, you must be happy for your heath

  8. Don't you wish it was true! I have read a lot of posts, over the last 7 weeks. that the band is not working for me etc, no weight loss.

Did your doctors not tell you that you have to work with the band, eat slower, smaller portions, and exercise?

If you are following the rules, and exercising and eating small meals 3 x day and a few Snacks, and not loosing weight, it could be a leak? or a medical condition. I assume patients had full medicals before surgery. If you are not loosing weight and not following the rules it is not the bands fault?

This board has really gotten to be whining, and not much positive things are being posted.

The band is a tool, and not a cure.

    Good luck to all

  9. Good for you, I couldn't have said it better. I think exercise actually lower my eating, and I feel full sooner. I walk 16-20 kms weekly, and work out with a trainer (you don't want to know what I call him) and I'm feeling great. Before banding I didn't even walk to the mail box, this tool has given me a new lease on life, and I'm working so hard with it and really enjoying it.

Good luck, and I loved your post.

I read a lot of the "band is not working", people have to realize you have to work with it.
